  1. It's too bad the Yanks and Red Sox don't play each other like 7 times the rest of the way. I'm pretty sure they only have 3 games left.
  2. If the Sox happen to lose today, I hope there's no meltdown on this board. The odds are very high that they'll lose today. That's why last night's win was so important.
  3. YES SIR!!! Great win. Jenks is so much easier on the blood pressure than Hermanson.
  4. Cuddyer has always scared the living s*** out of me.
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:56 AM) At least Iguchi hit the ball hard but you have got to get a fly ball there. I realize it's Nathan, but still. Big time blame on Podsednik for not making that pitcher throw two strikes. You take until it's 3 and 2. Why were the Twins shading Iguchi so far up the middle???
  6. I promise I won't blame Ozzie if the Sox lose this game for the Pods move.
  7. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:53 AM) And wait, if we lose, everyone is going to blame Ozzie for not pinch hitting for Pods. I wouldn't have had Pods batting there. However, it's all about the bottom of the 10th now.
  8. Wow, that was real bad after the great luck. I have a bad feeling we'll look back on those last two hitters with a lot of regret.
  9. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) What was wrong with Podsednik batting in that situation? He's not very good at hitting with the bases loaded.
  10. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:52 AM) The only thing I could think of is if you put Anderson in Nathan comes in to pitch. That is probably a K. At least Pods avoided the DP.Borchard as a switch hitter may have been an option. Romero had to pitch to that first batter.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:51 AM) Look out for Miggy Cabrera, he's still only 22 and putting up ridiculous numbers. Good call. I think he might go Manny and get a little crazy though. Also, playing in that park will hurt his numbers.
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:50 AM) It's Ozzie's fault Pods didnt get a hit there. Didn't Ozzie have Anderson ph for Pods last week against a lefty?
  13. We never come close to hitting Nathan. Pods had to try and hit that ball in the air.
  14. Question...why did Pods bat there? He has been brutal with bases loaded all season. That was a huge play in this game.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:46 AM) Seriously thats pretty crazy. Figures its not Sox related though. I do love watching Bonds ABs. THat guy is incredible. Except that bomb he hit off Colon in the 9th of 03. That was awesome in a bad way. I love seeing a player so confident, that you just knew he was going to f*** up Colon.
  16. QUOTE(BFirebird @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:45 AM) Definitely the best of my lifetime. Probably 3 or 4th best all-time. Juice or no juice. I said in 1998 that Bonds and R. Henderson were the two greatest players of my generation. Since then, Bonds has had a pretty good run! However, I would say that ARod and Pujols are the two greatest players so far in the next generation of players.
  17. What's more amazing....Sox score, or Fathom, jphat, and CWSGUY agree on something?
  18. YES!!! Great base running by Dye, as that ball could have been caught by Crain.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:43 AM) Really? Im a big fan too. We might be the only ones. Yes, I think he's the best baseball player ever. He dominates the game like no athlete I've ever seen. I love watching every AB he has.
  20. Wow, what a break!!! Will Ozzie let Crede hit here? Might as well. I would be hesistant about letting Pods hit if Crede doesn't get a runner in.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:41 AM) Cmon AJ. Crush your old team. Bonds hit a bomb btw. I love Bonds
  22. Uribe isn't a very good bunter. Hopefully Crain will throw the ball into LF.
