If the Sox happen to lose today, I hope there's no meltdown on this board. The odds are very high that they'll lose today. That's why last night's win was so important.

At least Iguchi hit the ball hard but you have got to get a fly ball there. I realize it's Nathan, but still. Big time blame on Podsednik for not making that pitcher throw two strikes. You take until it's 3 and 2.
Why were the Twins shading Iguchi so far up the middle???
QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:53 AM)
And wait, if we lose, everyone is going to blame Ozzie for not pinch hitting for Pods.
I wouldn't have had Pods batting there. However, it's all about the bottom of the 10th now.
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:52 AM)
What was wrong with Podsednik batting in that situation?
He's not very good at hitting with the bases loaded.
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:52 AM)
The only thing I could think of is if you put Anderson in Nathan comes in to pitch. That is probably a K. At least Pods avoided the DP.Borchard as a switch hitter may have been an option.
Romero had to pitch to that first batter.
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:51 AM)
Look out for Miggy Cabrera, he's still only 22 and putting up ridiculous numbers.
Good call. I think he might go Manny and get a little crazy though. Also, playing in that park will hurt his numbers.
QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:50 AM)
It's Ozzie's fault Pods didnt get a hit there.
Didn't Ozzie have Anderson ph for Pods last week against a lefty?
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:46 AM)
Seriously thats pretty crazy. Figures its not Sox related though. I do love watching Bonds ABs. THat guy is incredible. Except that bomb he hit off Colon in the 9th of 03.
That was awesome in a bad way. I love seeing a player so confident, that you just knew he was going to f*** up Colon.
QUOTE(BFirebird @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:45 AM)
Definitely the best of my lifetime. Probably 3 or 4th best all-time. Juice or no juice.
I said in 1998 that Bonds and R. Henderson were the two greatest players of my generation. Since then, Bonds has had a pretty good run! However, I would say that ARod and Pujols are the two greatest players so far in the next generation of players.
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 02:43 AM)
Really? Im a big fan too. We might be the only ones.
Yes, I think he's the best baseball player ever. He dominates the game like no athlete I've ever seen. I love watching every AB he has.
