  1. The blame goes to KW, fair or not, for not upgrading this team when it was clear that more was needed for this team to maintain success throughout the whole year. We even had a big struggle in August, and he still didn't obtain any offensive help. It was pretty clear the Reds weren't going to give up Griffey Jr. You have to know that will be his excuse if he's made the scapegoat after the season.
  2. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 04:33 PM) What is it about pressure that brings out the worst in this team? It's been that way for at least the whole 21st Century, hasn't it?
  3. Pods Iguchi Everett PK Dye Rowand AJP Blum at 3b Uribe
  4. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) why do cubs fans always have to come up? Because that's what happens. There were tons of us going nuts when the Cubs collapsed also.
  5. Here's the lastest from Mariotti today. Sadly, I found myself agreeing with almost everything he said: http://suntimes.com/output/mariotti/cst-spt-jay18.html
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Furcal's probably headed to the Cubs this off-season. He'll want to lead-off which isn't possible while Scotty's around. Well, if that was really the reason he wouldn't come to the Sox, I'd put Pods in the 9th hole faster than you could say Ditka. There's going to be a big financial battle for Furcal this offseason, with him being the top choice for many teams, including the big spending Cubs. I think the chances of the Sox getting Furcal are....remote.
  7. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 06:57 AM) I can't even walk outside without a Cubs fan pointing and laughing at me. I would bring up 2003, but this is so much worse. This has nothing on the 2003 collapse by the Cubs. 5 outs away with a 3 run lead and a game up in the series from making the World Series is in a hell of a lot better position to have a "dream" season than the Sox this year.
  8. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 04:05 PM) Yanks have like 8 left vs BOS and they wont sweep em all!!! We are 8.5 ahead of OAK also now too They have 3 games left vs each other. The rest of their schedule is rather easy.
  9. If the Sox continue to slump and not make the playoffs, I think it's safe to say that PK won't be back. If that's the case, then I don't want to see Everett and Thomas brought back. Rather, a new batch of players could be brought in with that freed up money.
  10. I'll be happy anyway the Sox make the playoffs. Even if they get swept and lose every game 10-0, it's better than not making it at all.
  11. We're not the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, or Cubs. Basically, that means that no one cares very much about the Sox. I don't think the national bashing will be all that bad.
  12. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 03:39 AM) Seems like recently neither the Yanks or Indians will lose, only us. Those teams have been find any and every possible way to win lately. They definitely sense that they're in the stretch run.
  13. If our team motto is win or die trying, then if the Sox don't win, Ozzie should be fired.
  14. The most disturbing thing I've been seeing in the paper is that some of our players aren't confident in their ability. Just tonight, both Pods and Duque say that they don't have confidence in aspects of their game. Right now is not the time for these players to buckle under the pressure. If they can't do their job, get them the hell off the field.
  15. If you get fox sports, do yourself a favor and put the USC game on. Quite possibly the greatest offense you'll ever see in college.
  16. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) All media outlets are doing a choke watch now. ESPN, Foxsports, etc. So f***ing sad. Good, the Sox deserve it. If they do blow this lead and miss the playoffs, they deserve to be the laughingstock of MLB.
  17. Cleveland wins 5-4. KC had a chance, but bad managing and one of the worst ABs you'll ever see from Huber result in Indians win.
  18. Oakland being the worthless assholes we've always known them to be, as they've lost 4 straight to Cleveland and Boston. Why is it that every day, we feel like the worst is going to happen that day in regards to baseball outcomes, and it comes true?
  19. If he keeps starting, we won't have to worry about the playoffs.
  20. Indians on the verge of blowing out KC tonight.
  21. 3-0 Cleveland, with men on 1st and 3rd. 3.5 lead, here we come!
  22. Lead might as well be 3.5, as Indians are about to put up a big crooked number in the first inning.
  23. 2 batters up for Cleveland, 2-0 game. This is how you beat a s***ty team! The Indians are playing so loose and with so much confidence.
  24. Yankees win 1-0. Blue Jays had the first two guys on base against Gordon in the 9th, but couldn't do anything. This nightmare just gets worse by the day, doesn't it?
  25. Yankees are still up 1-0 after 7 innings. Chacon continues to be a huge addition to the Yankees starting rotation.
