Crede and Garland to Texas?
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 08:39 PM) Thats why we have Mack. Who can't hit lefties either. And then if we have to start Mackowiak on an everyday basis, the bench is severely weakened. And if you look at the prices getting paid to players, Crede will likely get equal to what Blalock does once he becomes a FA.

Crede and Garland to Texas?
What everyone seems to forget with these rumors is that the Sox seem to have very little confidence in Crede's back condition. When you take the injury, and combine that with negotiating with Boras, it seems very likely he'll get traded also.

Crede and Garland to Texas?
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 08:33 PM) there are a few future GM's on here who beg to differ. Might those be the future GMs who would rather have Pods than Grady Sizemore lead off or would it the be the future GMs that wanted KW to pay Konerko 18 mil a year if needed?

Crede and Garland to Texas?
Blalock is a better overall player than Crede. Especially when you consider he's locked in to a very fair contract for a few more years, there's probably not a single executive in baseball who'd rather have Crede than Blalock.

Crede and Garland to Texas?
QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 06:25 PM) The indications from White Sox management are pretty straightforward, they've all but come out and said it - if Garland doesn't agree to an extension they'll trade him. Bingo! KW has become very easy to read when it comes to what he's saying in the media, and what his intentions are. It's that reason that I think both of us agree that Willie and Borchard aren't going to be on the roster next year. I'll be very, very surprised if Garland is on the opening day roster for the Sox in 2006.

The "I was wrong about Grossman" thread
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) The thing the Orton defenders seem to not get.....is most of us Sexy Rexy fans still think Orton is going to end up being a good NFL QB. Hell, he may end up being better than Rex.....but right now, Rex is CLEARLY better and it's an easy choice. Put me in the category of those who don't think Orton will ever be a good NFL QB.

The "I was wrong about Grossman" thread
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 03:56 PM) Let us know when you getting around to pointing out the difference between Rex and Kyle. - Every single player on the Bears believes in Rex.....you can bet your ass that's not true about Orton. - Rex can create something, even if the pocket collapses around him. Unlike Orton, who just takes the sack or throws it 20 yards out of bounds, Rex showed a hell of a lot more poise in moving around a little and not giving up on the play. - I seriously can't believe that some people think there's not a big difference. Watching the difference between the 1st half and 2nd half was likely watching a college QB and then a pro QB.

Falcons @ Bears
How do you like this...we have a f***ing quarterback.

Falcons @ Bears
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) I don't know. I heard they're very pessimistic. It's gotta be that jphat and rowand 44 character who's doing that.

Falcons @ Bears
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 03:46 AM) f***ing Moose. WTF. Who's he going to blame now?

Falcons @ Bears
What are these Sox games threads you mention?

Falcons @ Bears
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 03:40 AM) the Grossman pick wasn't really a bad pass, just a great defensive play IMO. It was also a terribly designed play. I think Moose and D. Clark were right in the same area, and it brought about 3 defenders into the area. BTW, am I the only one who gets annoyed with the constant whining by Moose?

Falcons @ Bears
BTW, credit goes out to Lovie for having the balls to make the switch.

Falcons @ Bears
QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 19, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) I don't like this at all. They are winning. If you are making a QB change, do it when you are losing, or in-between games. Not while you are winning. You don't play to win one game, you play to win the Super Bowl. Everyone in America knows that the Bears have no chance to win the Super Bowl with Orton at QB.

Nomar signs with Dodgers
I always liked Nomar, and after he had absolutely no impact on the Cubs, I like him even more.

Who do you want to claim the last bench spot?
Something a lot of us are forgetting is that KW and company might be looking to get rid of Willie and Gload. Until I see it's official that Timo's off the team, he's the most likely guy to get the last spot.
-
Non-tender candidates
- Meche will get a solid amount of money to be a starter with a team. - The Brewers are looking for a way to bring in Kolb for a smaller amount than what his contract calls for.

Who do you want to claim the last bench spot?
QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) True, but I think Owens would be better off in AAA than in the majors. If it's between Owens or Willie, I'd much rather it be Owens.
-
Who do you want to claim the last bench spot?
QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 18, 2005 -> 01:44 AM) I would want to see just about anyone other than Owens. I don't want to see his development hindered by sitting on the bench the whole year when he could be starting in AAA. The way Ozzie uses his bench, Owens would get plenty of starts. As long as it's not Timo, I'll be happy.

Possible Garland and Uribe
QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Good points, I just think the idea of defense and pitching should be our mantra forever and Jon unless he gets broke appears to be one of those special talents (as long as he keeps listening to Buehrle and works fast). I think Mark B, Jon and Fred should be our big three for the next 7 years. Considering I've seen Garcia lose about 3 mph from his fastball in the last few years, I'm sure he'll be able to top out at about 86 mph in 7 years.

Who do you want to claim the last bench spot?
QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) I chose Willie because of that base hit he got in the Series. If that's the case, then we should have brought Blum back. Willie Harris won't be on the roster next season.

Contreras Reads The Tea Leaves
QUOTE(kevin57 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) I agree there will be a signing for 2-3 years. It will be "reasonable" given the strastopheric salaries going to starters this year. I really do hope JG or his agent say SOMETHING. I would love to have him signed for 3-4 years, but I'm not optimistic. I think Garland let his feelings be known about testing free agency, and that's why he's on the market now.

Crede and Garland to Texas?
QUOTE(southsida86 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) I think that KW should wait until there is NO starting pitching left and the Rangers are desprate, then Propose a trade of Garland and Crede for Blaylock, Wilkerson, Diamond and Danks. If KW could make that deal it would be Awesome!!! It may seem unrealistic, but if they are desprate they may do it. :headshake

Antwaan Randle El
QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) Well it wouldn't have been on chicagosports.com, if he wasn't interested in playing for the Bears. Or maybe it could have been a human interest piece on a very well-known Chicago product. Also, the article was written prior to the Bears/Steelers game.

Contreras Reads The Tea Leaves
It sounds optimistic, but the Sox still haven't offered him a deal. Still a long way to go it sounds for him to officially sign.
