  1. QUOTE(hi8is @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:45 AM) someone please explain, is this just a measure to give the hurt more time to get it back together? or did another injury pop up on him? whats the story behind this trip to the DL? Just lingering pain. Maybe he's suffering from the Kerry Wood virus....which is, when you're struggling on the field, the team puts you on the DL with stiffness. At least Frank has the surgery excuse.
  2. Cotts has earned the right to be put in a close game. Viz has shown no ability to keep the ball in the park this season. Against the likes of Ortiz and Manny, I would rather have Cotts in.
  3. QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:42 AM) vizquel would be awsome Freel scares me he's been hurt alot this year. There's more to Freel than his play on the field. I can't see many GMs wanting to trade for him.
  4. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:39 AM) Whats cooper supposed to say. Hey retard dont toss a cookie to one of the best power guys in all of baseball. You are not nolan ryan. Go out there and tell Viz to picking his f***ing head up. There was just such a terrible feeling in the Cell after that dropped foul. Ozzie even said so in the postgame conference.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:38 AM) No, get them a shortstop. Gload fits this team better than Frank anyway (you can all bash me all you want, but Frank is playing selfish right now with his approach). Not copmlaing about the season, I'm loving the season, but with the way Frank is playing, Everett should be the regular DH. Plus Gloadie is my favorite player and quite frankly he's a good hitter. He's gonna help this club out. Now if only they can get Vizquel or Freel cause Uribe is just awful at the plate (great defensively though and I still like him). It's funny, I called Frank selfish about a month ago, and people bashed me. I agree that Frank being out of the lineup probably helps our overall offense. However, we need to do something to bolster our offense. How do we expect to compete with offensive powers like Boston?
  6. Whenever Viz pitches, he's a hanging slider away from a homer. I can't believe he threw a fastball right down the f***ing cock to Manny. Cooper should have gone out and talked to Viz after the dropped foul.
  7. Gload is getting called up. Thomas is likely headed to the DL, according to Ozzie in the post game. Hey KW, get us some f***ing offensive help NOW! Gload is fine, but he's not a difference maker.
  8. Frank is likely going to the DL. Gload is getting called-up.
  9. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) I think that Crede was trying to get to the stands and then adjust to the foul pop. He lost his balance and then tried to one hand it....give the guy a break...if anything Crede gained confidence that he can get a huge hit late in the game. We all know that Rowand is major clutch. I will say it again, I put Arow 3rd in the lineup and keep him there. I wish you were my boss, making excuses for me failing in an easy situation. Crede should have caught that ball, no doubt about it. NO MORE f***ING ONE HANDED BULLs*** IN CLOSE GAMES!
  10. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:32 AM) Problem is, the formula is good pitching AND good defense shut down good hitting. Didn't have that tonight. We don't have good hitting, PERIOD! I'd take almost half of the offenses in the AL over the Sox. I'd rather have Boston, NYY, Baltimore, Detroit, and Texas for sure.
  11. fathom replied to bigred3535's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Colorado media predicted this would happen once he got the big contract. I used to be a Uribe fan, but he seems to be a one-year wonder. I'd trade for Omar in a heartbeat.
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:28 AM) You people get to deal with a tough loss. I get to deal with a tough loss plus have this game shoved down my throat for the whole day tomorrow and tonight. Now we have to depend on Duque and Contreras to win this series. If we lose this series, I'll f***ing cry. I'd be content with winning one game now. There just seems to be an awful feeling surrounding this team right now. I'm not sure why really.
  13. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) KW we are not playing KC anymore this team NEEDS to add and will have to improve at trade deadline or we may see a first round exit again......DAMMIT When I saw the quote earlier this week about how we don't need to make any changes, I just f***ing cringed. We received, and took advantage of, so many breaks in the first half, it wasn't even funny. We're not going to receive those types of breaks against these better teams in the 2nd half. Our starting pitching is beginning to slow down also now, and we don't have the offense to overcome that.
  14. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) F'ing pathetic. kenny get Wagner and Burnett please. Those two wouldn't do s*** to help us out right now.
  15. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:25 AM) ''Productive outs''... GAME. Don't get me started on the productive outs bulls***. There's no rule that states he can't get a hit when trying to get the runner over. It's not like we've had a lot of success knocking in the runner from 3rd, and less than 2 outs lately.
  16. We're free.......free falling!
  17. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:22 AM) God Iguchi sucking ass too, swings right through a meatball and at a bad pitch. Iguchi's batting average has been plummeting for a while now.
  18. Good AB Iguchi. This is f***ing pathetic. Has a 10 game division lead ever seemed so small? I'm not even being pessimistic, but I just don't like the way our team is playing at all right now. Not only that, but outsides of playing a slumping Indians team, our pitching has looked less than stellar. When's the last time we played well against a good team?
  19. Pathetic AB by Pods. He gave that AB away by trying to bunt.
  20. QUOTE(Frankensteiner @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:18 AM) I'm not even that worried about this. Even if we lose, it's still only loss #32 (and 6 out of 7 at home) and it's the middle of July so that's pretty good. Let's just get them this weekend when we have the Cubans pitching. Where are all those people who were talking about our playoff rotation earlier in the week? Even then, I asked since when was the division decided in mid July? If our offense doesn't pick up, I don't like our chances against the tough teams we play this half of the season. We're not going to be able to constantly beat teams like the Red Sox or Yankees by a score of 2-1.
  21. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) KW won't do anything because he fully believes this chemistry horses*** which keeps people like Vizcaino on the team. It's not KW who believes in this chemistry, it's Ozzie.
  22. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) and AJ and PK and Frank... Please tell me you're not comparing Uribe's offense this year to PK, Frank, or even AJP?
  23. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) Only good thing I can see out of losing now what appears to be 3 in a row, maybe that will light a fire under KW's ass to get something done.. I definitely agree. We sure look to have lost 3 games from our division lead in a hurry. And ladies and gentlemen, our schedule doesn't get any easier.
  24. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) When Shingo was DFAed, Jizzcan became our worst pitcher. But for whatever focking reason Ozzie throws him out there in a key situation. We're the only team who releases a relief pitcher when another reliever is injured. Our bullpen is so short-staffed right now.
  25. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) They need to put their game face on and at least give some good at bats in the bottom of this inning. Uribe's at bat vs. Schilling with Crede on 2B was inexcusable, swinging at a bad first pitch and weakly grounding out. That's bad baseball. Which there has been waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of by the White Sox tonite. You simply cannot give that team all those extra outs. Uribe has turned into a massive offensive liability. He's the weak link on this team right now.
