  1. QUOTE(AirScott @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) I guess you're referring to me. which I'm not, but like I've said three times now, you even need to practice bunts. I bet a bunt from Frank Thomas would look the same way, because when was the last time he bunted (his would probably be a lot worse). Now, you're comparing Crede to someone who hasn't played in a MLB game in almost a year? Not only that, Crede is the number 9 hitter, not the all-time franchise home run leader. Crede definitely has been asked to bunt before, and I think he's done a pretty solid job in the past.
  2. Maybe Ozzie might want to try hit-and-runs with PK at the plate and decent speed on the bases. If not, we're just begging for a double play.
  3. QUOTE(AirScott @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) like I said, he's got to learn to lay down the bunt. but when you haven't in weeks/months, it's hard to lay down a good bunt when the pitcher has a lot of movement on his pitches. Now this is getting ridiculous. Garcia probably had never tried to lay down a bunt in a game, yet he had no problem doing it on the first pitch. Who do you think practices bunting more.....Crede or Garcia?
  4. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) I'm sorry, I'm just so frustrated that he sucks this badly. The fact that some people are so blindly defending him is only making the situation worse. No kidding. However, we're all Sox fans here, and different fans like different players more than others.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:20 PM) What is this about a slump? Crede has consistently been this bad since he's been a starter. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, to get him to not suck. He will never even be an average hitting major leaguer. He is pure garbage. Milkman....you know guys like myself and Jabroni agree with you. But even for Crede, this is a massive slump.
  6. QUOTE(Wanne @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) Now that's funny!!!! Seriously...the argument aside from throwing Fields into the fire too quick...could he possibly be any worse than Crede? I just can't take seeing this dude in the lineup anymore. Like somebody said earlier....ENOUGH! Problem is, from all the reports I've heard from non-Sox observers.....Fields has looked awful in the minors.
  7. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) I trust more in crede getting a hit and scoring those guys before laying a perfect bunt down.....I'd rather him try for a sac fly....seeing how he does that with no one on all the f***ing time than sac bunt which he rarely ever does Crede's in a massive, massive slump. He has a much better chance at getting down a successful bunt as he is actually getting a hit.
  8. We haven't had a throw as good from the outfield as Finley's throw this entire year.
  9. It's getting close to me suggesting that we deserve to lose this game.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) Shows what the f*** you know about baseball. Of course he should have been bunting in that AB. If he wasn't bunting, it would have been a terrible managing decision by Ozzie. Just saw your edit....respectfully know I understand what you mean. No hard feelings?
  11. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) not at you,,, just you suggesting crede bunt..... Shows what the f*** you know about baseball. Of course he should have been bunting in that AB. If he wasn't bunting, it would have been a terrible managing decision by Ozzie.
  12. QUOTE(AirScott @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) before anyone says anything, don't be too hard on Crede. when's the last time he bunted? Crede's actually bunted quite a few times. And the argument is bulls***.....Freddy Garcia had no problem getting the bunt down.
  13. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) :finger Is that finger for me or for Crede?
  14. Enough Ozzie.....sit his f***ing ass!
  15. Crede should be bunting here. He needs to make himself useful. Also, good to see Uribe having more balance at the plate.
  16. That's the Widger we all know and love
  17. We need to keep getting baserunners. Lately, when we got a few runs early, we stopped scoring for the rest of the game. Buehrle might not be able to keep the Angels to under 3 today with his location/stuff.
  18. QUOTE(Tadahito15 @ May 30, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) Rowand shouldve had that, but good back up by Dye to save the double It was a good effort by Rowand, but we've really had some mediocre outfield play all around. We can't throw out a baserunner to save our lives, and we seemingly don't make many tough plays at all.
  19. Buehrle doesn't have his good control right now. He's very hittable, but hopefully he'll be able to work his magic.
  20. We need to be careful with Finley. He's now hit two balls very well today, and he's one of the streakiest hitters I've ever seen. He has like 3, 3 homer games in his career.
  21. Way to get us in the dugout Buehrle
  22. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) And Dye K's on the low breaking ball. Walker needs to train him not to love that pitch. But almost all of his homers have come on golf shots on low breaking balls. Can you say slider speed bat? One of the most common signs that a player has passed his peak, and his career is on the downslide.
  23. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Watching tapes of Sammy Sosa maybe... Thing is, Sosa would trick pitchers sometimes, and he's swing out of his ass on the first pitch heater down the plate. Dye doesn't seem to be changing anything.
  24. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 30, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) Why in the hell does Dye always take a perfect strike down the plate but swing at breaking balls in the dirt? We've talked about this at length. Considering he doesn't have a great eye, and is very prone to swinging at offspeed stuff in the dirt, it's not a good approach. Basically, he's putting himself in a big hole, and really only one good swing before he needs to protect against the slider in the dirt, etc.
