  1. Thomas actually put a good swing on that 2-2 pitch, but he's looked lost the entire night at the plate.
  2. Wow, Ozzie's pulling Buehrle after a 1-1 count on Inge. Not too often you see a manager leave a pitcher in for his pickoff move. Pretty smart idea, if you ask me.
  3. If the first base ump called him safe there, I was going to turn this game off.
  4. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:56 AM) IMO time to make this a 3 inning game with Cotts, Politte, Hermanson. Buehrle gave us 6, lets get the win for him. I agree with you, but you know Ozzie will keep Buehrle in. Doesn't Buehrle have like a 7 inning streak for games pitched? Or is it 6 innings? Anyways, that was one of our worst efforts in an inning this season.
  5. Good job by Buehrle getting out of that inning. I'm not so sure how long Ozzie will have him go. I'd imagine he'll pitch the 7th, but Ozzie should have someone ready in the pen in case he gets in trouble.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Has he ever had anyone on when hitting one out? Just wondering. 16 homers and 36 RBI are video game numbers.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) Ealry release point...? I think you're definitely right. Everything is staying up and outside. Wow, Young just missed that.
  8. Wow, why is Cooper going out to the mound? I'm not a big fan of the pitching coach disrupting the flow of a pitcher mid-batter.
  9. Buehrle hasn't been overly sharp tonight. He's going to need a DP to get out of this inning.
  10. Konerko's absolute lack of range probably prevented him from having a play on that shank by White that went foul.
  11. I'm not sure if we've ever won when Hawk has made a comment like "ok Buehrle, there's your run.....now good luck". In the past, our pitcher usually got rocked after that statement.
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) I do think we should look at Randa. If for no other reason than to cock-block the Twinkies from getting him. Randa on the Twins might equate to the most difficult late inning out ever for the Sox. We never get Randa out late in the game, and Twins players are always tougher near the end of the game.
  13. I'm going to keep saying this tonight: SWING THE f***ING BAT!
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) That call was such bulls***, it wasn't even really that close, how you blow that is unreal. Yeah, there's been some tough calls against us tonight. Unlike in years past, I actually think we have a chance to overcome the call. In years past, there were times where we completely gave up if we got a bad call, etc. A perfect example was that Crede bulls*** HR foul call on a clearly fair homer in Baltimore.
  15. That ball was just crushed by Dye! Looks like Robertson tried to go inside one too many times. I still think his defense sucks though!
  16. SWING THE f***ING BAT! Looks like the 3rd base ump f***ed us on that Rowand leadoff double anyways.
  17. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) he's slow, we all knew he was slow coming in. Given that, he's played some damn good D this season. Couldn't disagree with you more on your assessment of Dye's defense this year. It's been extremely, extremely disappointing.
  18. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) there's absolutely nothing he could do there. Oh, I know. However, in general, he just doesn't seem to get to a lot of flyballs that are blooped to RF or down the line.
  19. QUOTE(Wedge @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) so you'd rather have guys swing at anything close than take a few very close pitches? YES, without a doubt. Especially in situations with runners on base, you have to protect no matter what. BTW, these aren't close pitches. Most of them have had the entire plate.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:28 AM) Rowand covers a s*** load of ground in Center. And Dye looks like a pillar in the outfield.
  21. Tigers lineup with a healthy Ordonez = damn good
  22. SWING THE f***ING BAT! Seriously, how many times are we just going to go down weakly without swinging the bat? It's Nate Robertson, not f***ing Randy Johnson.
  23. Twins are threatening to get a few runs in the first off of KC.
  24. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:17 AM) Proved your ass wrong! I'm never scared of saying something like that before the AB or a crucial situation, and just hope to be proven wrong.
  25. Good job by Pods there. Nice to see a run scored without it being a homer.
