QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) One thing I didn't miss the last week were the awful swings Uribe has seemingly every AB. As I was saying.....WELCOME BACK JUAN!!!! Get him in Pods

Good defense by our outfielders that inning.

Instead of playing for the 3 run homer like we have been the last 3 games, maybe we should try a hit-and-run just to shake things up.

A serious question: When are we allowed to get worried about the energy level this team has showed lately?

This is just awful now. We have guys taking 2 strike pitches right down the plate, yet number 7 hitters swinging weakly at 2-0 changeups.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 12:04 AM) Aaron Rowand is f***ing awesome. Vs lefties and in the clutch.

Dye's back to taking that first pitch fastball right down the plate. He had a stretch of about 2 weeks of just drilling that first pitch fastball.

Rowand is simply awesome against LHP. No doubt in my mind he should be batting 3rd vs LHP. Would have been nice if PK could have got to 3rd base there.

This team is f***ing sleep-walking. That's a bulls*** call by the umpire though. Thomas deserves more respect than that. I guarantee you that Pudge Rodriguez would have got the timeout call.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) FC for Ivan....inning over. Anyone else thinking "Man, we shoulda picked up Polanco." We had no one we could give up like Urbina. Not only that, Polanco was still owed a lot of money this season.

It's still early to tell, but I'm wondering if our offense is better off with someone like Everett in the order (when he's swinging well) than Frank Thomas. Now, I like Frank as much as anyone, but he's turned into an all-or-nothing player now. I'm not so sure how that approach will work with this cast of players we have.

In absolutely no way is this a sky is falling statement, but if we don't play solid baseball this week, we'll be lucky to have a lead over 5 games over the Twins.

Not to steal southsideirish's thunder, but the pull baseball approach has been disgusting lately. We have now gone 19 innings without scoring a run, and we only have like 5 hits in that time.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) Huh? I count 5. Pods, Harris, Timo, Pierz, plus Everett as a switch hitter who hits well from the left side. I said we only played 3 lefties!

QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) This is hilarious. One bad game and everyone is off the bandwagon. We just had ANOTHER 8 game win streak. Geez, people. I could care less about how we look against a terrible team like KC and the injury depleted Dodgers. Until our offense can compete against the top pitchers, we're not going anywhere in the postseason (if we make it). One thing almost all of our hitters do an awful job at is fouling off a tough pitch with 2 strikes. It's definitely a skill, and it seems like none of our hitters are good at it.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:25 PM) Zero runs in the last 16 innings!!!! yay Against rhp, we don't have enough lefties. We played 3 lefties today, and that's including one of our benchers. A real tough righty will eat alive any team with that many righties in their order.

We have no balance in our lineup at all right now. We're not going to face KC pitchers every game, or a team like the Dodgers missing their closer.

Flubs vs. White Sox 6/26/05 game thread
Well, that was absolutely sickening. The last 16 innings has been the worst offense I've ever seen from a Sox team in 10 years.

So many f***ing terrible ABs today by our big hitters.

Cubs have opened up the door for us the last 3 innings, with the walks and hbp leading off the inning.

Yep, it's OMIT to bat here. Thankfully we have such a stud on our bench.

QUOTE(sin city sox fan @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:14 PM) I'm ready for a 3 run walk off homer this inning Well, if Frank gets up with 2 men on base, he'll either hit a homer or make an out.

QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) Carl Everett. Ozzie will save Everett for a situation where a homer would tie or win the game.
