Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
I bet Jeff Brantley has the biggest smile on his face right now. Why don't any of these announcers make a comment back at Ozzie about how terrible of a hitter he was? Ozzie's lack of respect for people off the field is sickening.

GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) At first I was thinking that who would play SS if Konerko PH for Uribe and tied it with a double, and forgot Iguchi was on the bench and Willie probably if needed, could of moved to SS. Between Ozuna, Willie, Crede, and Harris still being in the game, we would have had no problems filling out our infield.

QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:32 AM) If K-Rod throws that same nasty curve to Konerko on two strikes, he's out too. Sorry. Wow. How about if he throws those same fastballs he threw to Uribe, PK might have put a charge into one. I've always been a believer in the philosophy that if you're going to lose, lose with your best. I guess I shouldn't expect nothing else from Ozzie than to f*** up.....again.

QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) Actually Uribe. I think Konerko wouldn't have seen a single fastball in the sequence and would've either struck out or grounded out weakly. Or walked easily like Thomas did, where K-Rod didn't want to throw a fastball. Name me one other manager that would have kept their biggest power threat on the bench? I can't believe how some people try to defend moves by Ozzie that have absolutely no explanation.

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
Can a manager suffer a season-ending injury? That might be our best chance to make the playoffs.

GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) when has konerko ever seen an offspeed pitch he can hit, let alone read properly? About the same time that Uribe hasn't chased one. K-Rod wasn't getting his slider over the plate. Who would you rather have facing a pitcher who only has confidence in his fastball, Konerko or Uribe?

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:25 AM) I could say the same for you and just about everyone else in this thread who thinks they know everything about not only what is happening, but also what will happen and what should have happened. The biggest problem I have is that everyone in the world knew that Timo shouldnt be at 1b, and that Walker should have never been brought in. That's not just bad luck for Ozzie....that's bad managing.

And Ozzie letting our biggest power threat in PK sit on the bench in the 9th inning concludes just a terrible game for Ozzie.
-
GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
We have our biggest power threat sitting on the bench with 2 outs, with the tying run at the plate. That basically concludes just an astonishingly bad coaching night.

f*** YOU OZZIE GUILLEN! That was the worst managerial game I've ever seen.

Konerko should be hitting for Uribe here.

PK for Uribe?

QUOTE(Spiff @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) Yeah because Politte would have been flawless pitching a third straight day, Marte hasn't struggled at all lately, and Hermanson is soooo much different when he's pitching from behind. Shut the hell up and deal with reality. Well, good thing you're not managing us then.

On the bright side, at least Dye's deep drive in the 9th inning got out last night, compared to tonight.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) I sure hope so. Get someone who HAS to pitch the 8th like Wagner. That way Ozzie has less innings to mismanage... I'm concerned we're going to need someone for the 9th inning also soon.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) Did Ozzie really care if we won tonight? It didn't appear so... The best comment I saw all night was that Ozzie should get pulled, since he's had a bad couple of days.

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:05 AM) I am sick and f***ing tired of them not being able to sweep a series this will be the seventh time this season that they have a chance to sweep and failed. Seven times by June 1st thats not good. Personally, I wouldn't mind if we keep winning the first two games of the series. I'll be perfectly content if we continue to do that.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) Brently on ESPN just took more shots at Ozzie for his BP handling Specifically at not bringing in Hermy in game 1, which we almost lost thanks to that move, and now bringing him in for mop up hurting his 0.00 ERA MInd you, Brentley predicted Hermy would nto do well before he even pitched his first pitch (becoz it was not a save situation) Right he was.....f*** you Ozzie, you suck moron I'm sure Ozzie will go off on Brantley again.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) They said it was the back, couldn't get loose. Seems like it might be a season long type injury. Hermanson didn't seem to be getting very good extension on his pitches that inning. A back injury would definitely cause you to short arm the ball.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:01 AM) I know he's on long rest and may be rusty, but his past few outings have been a tad concerning. If I remember correctly, he walked his share of guys against the Cubs and in Anaheim and was able to get out of jams. Yeah, he was definitely playing with fire in Anaheim. Both Molina and Pride hit very long flyballs against him. I've noticed that his splitter hasn't been nearly as sharp as it was earlier.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:00 AM) Everyone was calling for him, and there he is. Come on, this is a totally different situation than if your team has the lead. I am worried though about Hermanson. Did we ever find out if he was a little injured on Monday?

We need to acquire a reliever. May I recommend Jay Witasick on Colorado?

QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:57 AM) Actually, I'd prefer it to happen in this situation. Not that I hope he does, but if it happens, at least it will be out of his system. Agreed. We're going to need other relievers to pick up the slack when Cliff and Dustin have their inevitable slumps.

GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:55 AM) Giving up both inherited runners is not good. You can thank our manager for that. With first base open, we should have never pitched to Molina. Personally, I thought our best chance of getting out of that inning with a tie score was to walk McPherson, and bring in Viz to face Molina. He's such a double play threat, it would have given us a chance.
