If the Sox have become so good at developing hitting, why not continue doing that and acquire pitching via trades and free agency? Kinda similar to what the Cubs did under Theo. Also, not talking about doing all this right now, but during this upcoming window.

He has been playing well, but as I like to say, when you take out someone like Colson, the lineup gets too slappy. Hard to consistently score runs with 3 home run threats in the lineup.

Why would a team like the Reds or A’s want Hays?

At this point I hope it’s the knee injury causing the lack of stuff.

When I saw him in high school, I was shocked at how bad teams were able to score against him. Talked to a coach this past weekend who faced him a few years ago and said Izzi was easily the better pitcher back then.

Question for James or anyone who’s seen/heard anything….is Carlson looking good defensively? Feels like I haven’t seen anything good or bad about how he’s been in the field, which is odd given the reputation.

They’re definitely going to need to upgrade the catching spot. Can’t rely on Peters to carry bottom of the order.

Thing is, if you want to compete this year, you have to get a starting catcher and 1-2 starting pitchers while replacing Schultz. It’s the conundrum they face this year.
