  1. Willie to 2nd base, and Iguchi to SS if Ozuna is hurt?
  2. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:11 AM) It's Major League Baseball man, 162 game season, people are going to get hurt unless you field a squad of 25 Cal Ripken Jr's. I'm well aware of that. In the last few days, we had Contreras with the hammy, and even El Duque came up lame after a plate at first plate. A.J. has the toe problem after being hit, and Iguchi, Crede, and Uribe have been banged up all in this series. However, I'm very grateful that there's been nothing too serious yet. All you have to do is look to the Scrubs to see how quickly season ending injuries can occur......AND NOW OZUNA IS BANGED UP!
  3. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:10 AM) Relax man, Juan will be fine. If you have ever pulled your groin before, or even just tweaked it you'll find that it tends to feel MUCH worse than it usually is. It's a sensitive muscle but also heals quickly if you take care of it. I've also seen plenty of players that go on the DL with groin strains. Of course, this isn't a Nomar-like situation (hopefully). However, groin strains can be an injury that takes a few weeks to heal completely.
  4. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:08 AM) Sorry for being so blind. What is ridiculous? Every game, it seems 2 or 3 players come up lame.
  5. Who's our starting SS if Uribe goes on the DL? Ozuna? I don't think we have anyone in the minors who's ready to contribute.
  6. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) You can't predict injuries. I agree, but the stuff I read was that he totally blew off his rehab from some of his injuries, and it became common knowledge among the front office and players. I'm sure there's probably some truth to it, and some of the same "politics" that we've seen with every Sox player who's left town.
  7. This is getting ridiculous. Will Crede be able to play if need be tonight?
  8. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:01 AM) Oakland fans booing Dye for leaving due to free agency? From what I read elsewhere, they're booing Dye because of his lackluster performance with the A's after they gave him a big 3 year contract.
  9. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 04:00 AM) Carlos was pretty good going to his right. I think he would have. Yes, but the glove being on the right hand made that catch possible for Pods.
  10. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 03:58 AM) Kotsay is really underrated, you know? No kidding, 2 years ago, I thought his career was going to be over. He really sucked at the end of his Padres career, and I thought the Padres destroyed the A's in the deal for Ramon Hernandez. However, his back has healed it seems, and he's been a monster since about this time last season.
  11. Very nice play by Podsednik. Now, I GUARANTEE you that Carlos Lee wouldn't have caught that.
  12. That's an even more impressive throw by Kotsay since he didn't really have time to get any momentum behind the throw.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 03:53 AM) You are the unhappiest person ever... What the hell are you talking about? People on here have been saying for a few weeks now that Iguchi is slow. We expected a guy who had 40 steals in a year in Japan, but he's been slower than almost everyone imagined. Just a comment on him, not like I was making fun of his mother or something.
  14. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 03:52 AM) Come on PK... He hit the ball in the air there, not much more you can ask for him there. Kotsay did a great job of calling off Swisher. Time for Buehrle to get us back in the dugout quickly.
  15. Wow, what a great throw by Kotsay. Iguchi is awfully slow though.
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Apr 27, 2005 -> 03:48 AM) My take is, either it's right or wrong. Froemming gets zero benefit of the doubt on the whole close play issue because he was completely out of position. No excuses, I realize they are human but give yourself the best possible chance to make the correct call. He didn't and that's why I'm pissed. EXACTLY! All you can ask from the umpire is that they put themselves in the best possible position to make the call. Umps are going to make the wrong call sometimes, but that's a lot better than blowing the call because you're too lazy to move into position to get a good view.
  17. There you go Iguchi. Shut up DJ until the play is over, you never know who's listening in the clubhouse.
  18. Drive the ball Iguchi. Infield in, so have to hit it hard somewhere.
  19. Interesting how Ozzie is sending the runners on 1st and 2nd when the count is 3-2 this game. It's worked perfectly two times already.
  20. Great AB by Podsednik there. Some huge runners in scoring position now.
  21. The worst thing about the call at home is that the particular play with a catcher blocking home, and the player not touching the plate is almost always called out now days.
