QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 24, 2005 -> 04:13 AM) I said yesterday that Ozzie would trot him out there the first chance he got. Unfortunately, I was right. Better in a game like tonight than one in which one pitch by him could decide the game. Like it or not, we only have two guys who we can count on in the pen right now (Cliff and Hermanson). Both of those guys are likely to have a rough patch also soon, so we need to find some relievers we can have faith in.

The new slogan is this: OMIT TIMO! What a f***ing terrible baseball player.

Timo Perez is a terrible player. He doesn't make plays....it's as simple as that.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 24, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) Who should, when Rowand is out? Not Konerko. Dye, maybe. Pierzynski? Not Timo/Crede/Uribe. Why not Dye with the way he's been hitting? Why not AJ? Everett is having a truly awful season batting lefty this year, especially in the last month or so. Everett has failed so many times recently with RISP when batting lefty.

Hey Ozzie......Everett should not be batting 3rd in this lineup. He's absolutely awful batting lefty this season.

Fields is not even close to being ready for the majors right now. There's still a lot of skepticism that he'll ever be a MLB caliber player.

This is the worst Crede has looked in his Sox career.

I hate Timo, but at least he swung at the first pitch fastball that Santana was throwing all night.

QUOTE(sircaffey @ May 24, 2005 -> 02:58 AM) He failed... That ball couldn't have been hit harder. It was just bad luck for Everett.

QUOTE(3E8 @ May 24, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) Why's everyone pissed at Timo when he threw a strike to Crede for what should've been the third out of the inning? Lack of range in the outfield. Dallas would have never made it to 3rd on that play if Timo didn't play close to the warning track for every hitter. Also, he looked like he was running in slow motion on the RBI double.

Our 7-8-9 looked about as tough as you would imagine. Crede has never looked worse at the plate than he does right now. Our lack of a suitable backup to play SS or 3B is hurting us. I don't think Ozzie is comfortable with playing Ozuna at 3B or SS.

Crede should have made that tag....but I still hate the presence of Timo Perez on this team. He has absolutely no range in the outfield.

Santana couldn't have asked for an easier inning.....especially compared to what happened in his major league debut.

Big trade coming for the Flubs?
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 24, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) The Pirates traded Aramis Ramirez to the Cubs. The Reds and the Pirates are perennial cellar-dwellars in the N.L. Central. I doubt they would trade Dunn to the Cubs but I could see them wanting to dump Griffey's contract and would trade him to the Cubs. Dunn is well-liked w/the Reds, while Aramis was hated by everyone in Pittsburgh. The Pitt organization thought Aramis was a cancer, and couldn't wait to get rid of him. That's the main reason that they were willing to get rid of him for less than market value.

Timo's playing in CF tonight for Rowand. Our 7-8-9 tonight is downright pathetic.

Big trade coming for the Flubs?
I guarantee that the Reds don't trade Dunn to a team in their own division. If anything, Dunn would be the last OF they'd be willing to give up. Jason Dubois and some lame reliever will not be enough to get him.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 21, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) Fathom, it's a difference of opinion. I don't feel like Lee has reached Barry Bonds/Albert Pujols status quite yet to where you don't want to let him beat you. For me, I don't want the go ahead run at the plate. Burnitz has power, I don't care if he's worse than Lee. Totally understand. I appreciate everyone voicing their opinion on here about the play. Like I said though, lets just be very thankful the ball stayed in the park!

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) ??? Put the winning run at the plate? That's stupid, you don't do that. Why's it stupid? I've always believed that you shouldnt let the opposing team's best hitter beat you. Anyways, it's on to the 9th inning. I'm just thankful that Lee didnt hit that hanger out of the park.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 21, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) You don't, period. That was Lee's first hit of the series, burnitz has the only rbi today, you don't put the tying freaking run on base, just doesn't make sense. Anyways, lee picked off, HE GAWN!!!!! I see your point, and I offer mine.......who do you think has a better chance at getting the guy out: Cliff vs Lee or Marte vs Burnitz?

Wow! It's not often you see Marte pick off a batter.
