  1. Great bunt by Uribe! I'd rather see Podsednik swing away here, but I bet he's bunting also. Crede better get a big lead at 2nd.
  2. I'm probably not the only one who feels our 7-8-9 is much more dangerous than our 4-5-6 right now? The lower guys in our order seem to have a better chance at hitting a liner than our heart of the order.
  3. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:30 AM) Yeah, Gload is a hack in RF...I'd feel more comfortable with Carl in RF... No offense, but I don't think Carl would catch a single ball in RF tonight w/this wind. Just the thought of him in the outfield makes me cover my eyes.
  4. Hopefully I don't jinx it, but with this wind tonight, I'd much rather have Dye in RF though than Timo or Gload.
  5. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:25 AM) I don't have anything else to say about Dye and Rowand, this is awful. A scary thought is Rowand and Dye having to face Cubs pitchers. I'd be shocked if they hit the ball once during a 6 game series.
  6. Rowand's swing is awfully mechanical right now. Every swing is the same, no matter what type of pitch it is.
  7. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:23 AM) Is someone else injured for the Twins? They got Morneau back tonight. Only injured guy is Balfour, but he's not a main contributor on the team by any means. Their pen is just fine without him.
  8. How does Dye ever get hits with his swing? I know he has 3 homers this season, but he doesn't get a lot of bat speed it seems as he swings all arms. Also, I remember him hitting the ball a lot more to right field in the past.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Ya know, we're playing pretty well, but 10-6 is not bad either. The Twins are only gonna get better, we will too, but the Twins ain't goin' anywhere. Getting Silva back so soon might have saved the Twins season.
  10. Percival looked like s*** last year. I wanted the Cubs to sign him to a big contract this offseason for that very reason. Angels fans must love having K-Rod as their closer now instead of Percival. We got very lucky to miss facing Morneau for 5 games already this season, he's a big power guy.
  11. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) Those last two AB's were disgusting, reminded me of past years. No one has mentioned it yet, but Konerko is just as guilty as Lee and Ordonez were in the past of swinging out of his ass with men on base. Konerko has basically become a homer or pop up man.
  12. Someone might want to tell Everett that when the pitcher walks 2 straight batters, including one with the bases loaded, you might not want to bail him out by swinging at the first pitch. Huge opportunity wasted there.
  13. Ugh, terrible AB by Everett. Two straight AB where he has made weak outs on the first pitch with guys in scoring position.
  14. Great AB by Iguchi to not swing at some tough sliders after being down in the count. Drive the ball to RF Carl!
  15. Big chance for Iguchi to blow this game open. Hernandez has been wild this game, Pods has 3 walks already.
  16. Tigers got the lead though. Percival has looked awful this year, but he's been amazing against the Twins in his career.
  17. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:04 AM) :headshake Trammell pulls Maroth after 75 pitches and Kyle Farnsworthless blows the lead in the 7th. T. Hunter has 10 steals already.
  18. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 01:00 AM) Is Garcia missing his spots again? No, he just doesn't have very electric stuff. He's not fooling hitters with anything.
  19. Good job by Garcia keeping the Royals to one run that inning.
  20. Show some f'n range Crede. Two plays he could have made have resulted in a lot of trouble for Garcia.....who has still looks to not have anywhere close to his best stuff (again).
  21. QUOTE(valponick @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) I'm still very dissapointed with how Dye and Rowand have hit so far this year. Rowand's just swinging at every pitch right now, even if it's a slider 2 feet off the plate. He'll stick destroy lefty pitching, but his effort against righties this season has been poor.
  22. Very nice to see Iguchi finally beat out an infield single. I expected him to be faster than he is, but I'm pleased with his adjustments he seems to be making.
  23. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Jermaine "The Rally Killer" Dye. :banghead Yes, that was a terrible at-bat by Dye. I really don't like his chances against rhp. Also, does it seem like Garcia never throws his splitter/changeup anymore? He seems like a total two pitch pitcher now.
  24. Sox continue to make way too many outs on the bases.
  25. However, Shingo's fastball was quick enough that if players were sitting on his slow stuff, he could get it past them. Shingo threw more fastballs past people than almost anyone else on our staff last year......who f***ing cares, IT'S OVER!
