Absolutely, I would be willing to deal with the Scrubs as they have pieces that would fit us really well. It starts with Happ who I would put in left and leave alone. His 33% k rate scares me but he hits and is that nearly developed hitter we talk about. Candelario also is a must and gives us another switch hitter and 3rd baseman. Caratini could be interesting as a backup catcher/dh and third switch hitter but he isn't a must and could be subbed out for a higher risk/higher ceiling player. I would also want one of their lower level young LHP as a fourth piece either Steele or Hudson.

Let me preface this with I am not a scout. Here are some observations. The Yankees need an outfielder and called up a 22 year old from AAA. This outfielder has caused another highly rated prospect to be moved from center field to a corner outfield position so I am taking this to be they think the centerfielder is a better defender. The batting line for the corner outfielder is .257 .344 .478 .822. He has 12 HRs and 9 SB. 10% walk rate and 22% k rate. The line for the centerfielder is .293 .329 .542 .871. 13 HRs 13 SB. Walk rate 5% K rate 21%. Obviously this if Frazier vs Fowler. I think they may be a lot closer as prospects than people may think. Only current advantage to me is his walk rate. I looked back over previous years and Fowler's is always pretty low. Fowler is given credit for hard work on his defense and Frazier has had attitude questions. Fowler hits Lefty vs Frazier Right. I think either is a fine prospect and could be in play in a Q trade. It may be interesting when the guru's midseason ratings come out to see if the gap is narrowed. Both fit many peoples suggestions of higher level positional talent.

Fowler, Andujar, Adams plus one more was what I want from Yankees for Q. All three 22 and in bigs or at AAA make them more appealing to me than a slightly higher ranked prospect who may be struggling at the A levels. Players that far away have higher injury/bust risk and even though they may have a higher ceiling, I would want more due to the risk.

Hopefully the pain is behind his recent performance and not that someone woke him up. Might be good to give him a few days off to heal/regroup/fall back asleep.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 03:23 PM) I don't know more than you, am not surprised at the walks as that was the profile that was at FS. I kinda file these guys in the box with Aaron Schnurbusch. He's a little different since he was a draft-eligible sophomore, but idea being enjoy the success while they beat up on younger players, but don't really get too interested until they start to hit above their weight. Me too. With so many college guys drafted we should dominate their leagues. I was intrigued by him because he is 20 years old which is younger than many of our picks.

Anyone know much about him or links to scouting reports? I read a little blurb on Future Sox. I waited for it to happen as I didn't want to jinx him but he had his first strikeout to 8 walks after 21 at bats. He like many of our prospects walked more than he struck out and this is a very very small sample size but was kinda wondering what kind of prospect status he has?

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 24, 2017 -> 12:42 AM) Saw Skoug AB in the CWS. Takes hacks like Rougned Odor. Needless to say, he's going to K a lot. Another K. Looked like s***. I saw both and not impressive. He started the year in a funk, may be back in it. Not the way you want to end your college career. Hopefully he is an asset defensively.

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 06:18 PM) Don't know if any Sox fan will be able to read that without a smile on their face Or a little tear. There is one of him taking care of the rookies on Toronto's team that is a really awesome story as well. Took all the rookies and bought each two tailored suits when they got to NY city. I can't figure how to link it.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 03:54 PM) Also LSU is still playing too, so the Kiel report can't really be correct. MLB office would not allow it, nor would NCAA. They may have, indirectly and under the table, agreed to parameters. A Future Sox tweet indicated he was not on LSU CWS roster and therefore was/is eligible to sign.

I will take a stab at it. I want positional talent and realize the higher failure rate the further away you are from MLB. I am also putting an emphasis on this years performance vs pre season rankings. While Q's peripherals are not bad, I wish he was sitting as an obvious allstar. From Houston: Tucker OF AA, Whitley RHP A , F Perez RHP A+, Alvarez 1b A, C Perez LHP A, 5 players because so many are so far away and riskier. Could balance numbers with one or two of our less impressive minor leaguers to potentially help 40 man issues if necessary. From NYY: Adams RHP AAA, Fowler OF AAA, Andujar 3b AAA and a flier as I had many say three prospects wasn't enough but all three are 22 and would be probable starters in our lineup by the middle of 2018.

White Sox make 25 minor league roster moves

Great to see guys move up. There should also be some pressure on other guys. With our last two drafts being college heavy, we should be doing well at the lower levels as our guys are older/more experienced than high schoolers. Sadly not as much domination as I would like to see. Also, the prolonged injury time for Tillson and Call doesn't help. -
I would like to see them put him in a spot in the order,(to me 7-9) and leave him there. Let him get in a rhythm and I agree on some defensive lapses I would give him a day off a week but work heavy in the field on fundamentals. He is still very young experience wise. I would try to schedule the work day even so the sub knows and can be more ready.

"Arm fatigue" rest 4 days and do extensive video work. Three every other day side sessions with coop (testing the recurrence of fatigue) Cmon I'll right the report here from Alabama. LOL. He does look out of sorts and frustrated on the mound. The problem is on the active roster he needs to pitch hence I thought a quick retool might help get his head cleared and mechanics back on track. I understand you can't disable healthy people but the ten day does make it tempting to do short overhauls if a valid reason can be found.

June 20th Game Thread: White Sox @Minnesota Twins

Serious question, after Melky gone would Avi at least be average in left due to decent arm? -
Hence the phantom 10 day dl and work on side

For those of you who complained about my trade proposal, watching Todd tonight who is owed 8-10 million this year, he does not enhance your return he hurts it. Just to be fair, when I proposed the trade everyone was talking about including Frazier, who to me carries negative value today. Since I think we have some payroll flexibility, I would hope he gets hot from now to deadline to get a B-C+ couple prospects as compensation so I wouldn't include him as a negative in a trade. At the deadline, he goes to open trials for others.
-
I know we want to trade/get value for him but he has really struggled. I think the phantom injury 10 day dl or more problematic a brief demotion may be needed.

QUOTE (beautox @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 04:38 PM) If thats the case then he won't be moved till the winter meetings or deadline next year as he takes over for Robertson and builds his value up even more. I'm sure nearly everyone will be shopped but I would put a high price on him. I think you value him like he is for real and teams won't want to pay that price. If he takes Robertson's place and is for real, next trade deadline you could get a haul greater than Robertson as he will be under control thru 2020 and cheap.

QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 20, 2017 -> 03:01 PM) Or Skoug, who will likely want overslot money. In the podcast, it intimated that Skoug or his reps were talked to and although you "can't" discuss terms(everyone does), we had an idea what he would need and took him. Quite likely after he fell, his number may have changed overnight. That tells me we can get there and this 500k certainly will help.
-
I think when the midseason rankings come out, the differences between these players will narrow and some may even switch. I would just like to see moves being made because I am bored and I understand a bad move is worse than no move. If Frazier goes, I think you get to evaluate Davidson in the field over time and see what Delmonico's bat might look like at DH.
-
Adams has a WHIP of 1 , ERA 1.78, k>1 per inning. Fowler also at AAA, 20%k rate, OPS .863 (better than Frazier) and 11sb with improved D. Andujar about 16% k rate . BA .312 OPS .836 at AA. All three 22 years old and by being closer to the majors less risky to me. I wanted one more player but these three are all highly thought of and performing. I would certainly not turn down another prospect but Frazier to me is mainly a salary dump. Doubt you get more than a couple C type prospects without paying his way.
-
Q and Frazier for Adams, Andujar, and Fowler. We get another player if they want us to take Headleys contract for tax purposes.

QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jun 14, 2017 -> 05:05 PM) Montes De Oca picked by the Nats. Let us never hear his name again. We could get him in a Robertson deal!! LOL LOL
