Tristan Peters, Mune are All-Stars
Am I the only person thinking a guy coming back from injury, trying to find his timing, going to a home run derby is not the best idea? I am happy for him and it is great for his “brand” and marketability but I hope this doesn’t mess with things.

After the recent play, is the smart move to sell instead of buy?
The White Sox need to thread the needle. The recent comments of McDougal and Hagen Smith likely being in the bullpen near the deadline may create the ability to move some relievers. That would make starting pitching the greatest need and little is available and even less controllable starters. Controllable starters, to me, are the only thing worth giving up significant prospect capital so I would think it is unlikely. You could see some moves that help create some 40 man or future 40 man space like a 2:1 or 3:2 move.

RHP Ben Peoples to TEX for C Ben Hartl (High A)
Congrats to Ben Peoples on his MLB debut. 2 scoreless with 2 hits and 1 K. Not an indictment of the trade just noting the guy made it and for whatever reason it didn't seem it was going to happen here.

2026 MILB Catch-All
A bit late but Jairo Iriarte was pitcher of the month for the WS in June. "Jairo went 1-0 with a 1.26 ERA in his eight June appearances. Iriarte pitched 14.1 innings, allowed six hits, struck out 15, posted a 0.91 WHIP, and limited opponents to a .130 batting average."

Investing for Beginners
Nice! Many gurus can tell you when to buy though few will say when to sell. Heck not only may they be wrong, it probably pisses off their sources. I also like "no one went broke taking a profit".

2026 MLB Draft Thread...White Sox Control Draft/V.Lackey closing fast
With Roch not improving a lot vs Soph year there is probably a little more fear that he may be closer to his max than if he had a better year. Emerson moved to what might have been weaker HS comp and thus at three years younger, you can think there is room for more improvement. The question could be if Emerson doesn't greatly improve is it because the development people failed or the scouts were wrong on ceiling? You will never know.

Investing for Beginners
stumbled across this post. I hope you are doing well and got started. Some good points were expressed. I am not a financial pro by any means. As a older dude, here are some points and reiterations: 1) Get started. If you have an option through work (401k etc) that has a match get all of the match. That 2 or 4 percent doesn't sound like a lot but on your contribution that is an immediate 100% return. 2) Eliminate credit card debt. Interest rates are often 25% range which is crazy. Pay them off every month. If you have cc debt cut your spending. No eating out or fast food, trips, etc 3) Get started if this is money for retirement or that you don't need for 5-10 years. At the begining there is a lot of apprehension and thoughts of not knowing enough. Vanguard was mentioned. They are an investor owned low cost broker (good for low cost and fees). Index 500 mentioned which is the 500 largest companies in the market. You are buying a little bit of them which provides some diversification. (diversified spreads risk). If all 500 bust, we have bigger problems lol. A reassuring phrase I learned was "it is time in the market not timing the market". No one can predict the highs and lows to the day/hour but over time you will be a lot better off than doing nothing. Check the link. The person who invested on the worst possible day every year did just fine over time. https://www.schwab.com/learn/story/does-market-timing-work 4). Continue to educate yourself. No one will care about your money more than you. There is nothing wrong with steady consistent returns. People often brag about their investments that did great. Those same people don't tend to tell others when they lost their ass. Mutual funds/ETFs are a great way to get going and be diversified. For most people they are all they will need . If you do not work in the field remember it is unlikely in whatever time you spend on investing that it will make you better than professionals. If you are that great in 15 minutes a day you are in the wrong profession but it doesn't hurt to understand how your money is invested. I have done my own accounts but researched the fund managers and tried to understand the concepts behind what they did. Good luck and hang in there.

Hopefully, he and Mason Adams just hit what they used to call the “dead arm “ phase where it just wasn’t there in the spring for an outing or so. Wonder if all the modern analytics stopped or prevented that now ?

Trade Ideas/Rumors/Proposals Thread
If Mune isn't extended before next years trade deadline, you may have to consider trading him depending on how the season is going. If he leaves, with a balky back, the safest place to put Colson might be first base by 2028 or 2029. At that point, Carlson or the 1-1 pick may be a consideration.

Upcoming Roster Crunch
Drafted at age 18 and signed before Oct birthday in 2024. Think that gets you five years so after 2028. Draft year counts as first. That’s just to be on 40 man. If he is not in majors by 2028 something has happened/gone wrong.
