  1. It very well could be that the parameters of a deal had been worked out. It was a busy time, Hahn could have been on the phone with some other club and she may have called saying yes we will do the deal. Or Hahn could have been locked in a closet. I don't think if Hahn was completely out of the loop, you keep sending him out to the press. Think stuff would have leaked more from other organizations also.
  2. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=08/04/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Several double headers. Patino for AAA. Thompson and Simas scheduled
  3. Didn't see it in a thread but Lambert recalled yesterday and Thompson today. Thompson starting in CF today. At this rate would you take a chance on Kuechel and his near 1.00 ERA at AAA if Twins don't add to roster?
  4. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=08/03/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Well the minors are a little more interesting. Nastrini going for AA.
  5. 1) We shouldn't have been in this position. 2) Due to how weak our farm system was, (caveat for it is only one ranking system, 2023 picks not included) the prospects we acquired according to MLB.com now make up our #2,4,5,7,14,27 and a low 30s prospects. 3) It was a solid haul of prospects for what we gave up, our relative lack of leverage, and saved a fair bit of payroll. 4) Using some historical data, we should expect several of these players to get to the major leagues. One or two may be reasonably solid players. On one of the deadline broadcasts it was mentioned that over something like the last 15 years 574 prospects were traded. 3% became major impact (not sure what qualifies) and a bit over 10% became solid regulars (again don't know their criteria). It dampens my enthusiasm but overall, we received some players closer to the majors and higher rated than what most other teams received so maybe somewhat better odds.
  6. I understand he has had a small partial tear. I haven't seen his last scan (or others) but if it is now totally torn or significantly progressed from before then it is different. My point was going into the trade deadline , the front office knew he was out for all or virtually all of 2024.
  7. This was not an emergency surgery so the front office had to be well aware!
  8. Don't use the app unless watching game on iPad. Sorry not more help. I think one of the links only began carrying those two leagues in the last year or so.

  10. Between mlb Sox and AAA batters, 21k-0 w tonight. Hmmmmm maybe a problem
  11. Jake can certainly be appreciated for his perseverance, hustle and seemingly being a really likable guy. I hope he becomes a really good player for the Marlins. I also hope we win or tie the trade.
  12. This is the day!!!! Will it be a bang or a whimper? https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=08/01/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox
  13. Thompson batting third for AAA cf
  14. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=07/30/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox A day without trades is like a day without sunshine. Everyone try to stay cool in this heatwave.
  15. I think each time it’s the same order but not positive.
  16. Shaw serves a purpose. That purpose is to be an available arm until several of these teams who are gaining players and have to DFA some decent players/prospects, have to pass them through waivers. If you can claim something better(hopefully) then he is DFA. I could see the Sox trying to claim 3-4 players. I believe claim order is inverse standings in your league then inverse standings in the other league.
  17. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=07/29/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox well, yesterday was more fun!
  18. This points out how low our mlb depth is. We are playing several players short. Several acquiring teams are having to dfa players we could use. I anticipate several waiver claims just to fill out our roster.
  19. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=07/28/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Thompson for AA , everyone tbd
  20. So do you take multiple rule 5 guys? If you get a reliever or two and have a starting pitcher tryout camp? UGGGGG but what have you got to lose especially if one hits as a major league average guy for a couple years.
  21. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=07/27/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Thanks Timmy. Not only wins but a trade!
  22. All losses! Including the big club, a -30 run differential on the night. I am in the penalty box. Someone else do tomorrow’s games.
  23. Today is the deadline for signing draftees and the Sox signed everyone! That is a start. By my rough count the Sox went over their pool by about 446k which is just below the 5% line penalty. Jerry et al pay a 75% tax on that. If you go over the 5%, you lose a first rounder. So since I give them crap for a lot of things, I suppose it is only fair to give them credit for spending. Time will tell if it was well spent. I did note only one 10k signing. Everyone else in rounds 11-20 were at least the 150k "max" without counting against your pool. A lot less punted picks which should give better depth and the chance for a wild card. Sorry Harold, I had done my cyphering before seeing your post.
  24. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=07/25/2023 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox Draftees appearing so some more interest and we can over react to small sample sizes! Nah just good to see new blood and the return of a sliver of hope.
