  1. My guess is he's going to start seeing a lot more fastballs up in the zone. That .143 batting average you see below is the sliders low and away, the .500 and .400 batting average are those that caught a bit of the plate, he's making them pay dearly when they miss their spot even a bit low in the zone. One more chart to illustrate where they're pitching him currently:
  2. I'm not even sure what adjustments they can make, right out the gate he was seeing nothing but sliders low and away, one of the lowest FB% and highest SL% in baseball, looking at the numbers this morning I think they've started to adjust a bit as his FB% is increasing but if the adjustment is to throw more fastballs I don't see how that's going to work with his bat speed. I'm just not sure what they can do differently to get him out.
  3. Looking at the updated Statcast data, holy hell Robert. He's now at the very top of the league in sprint speed and the defensive metrics continue to get better, he's already elite in so many things.
  4. You do know homeruns count as an extra base hit, right? Both Encarnacion and Jimenez have HR's off Anderson. Also, Edwin, Yasmani and McCann are the only ones with more than a game's worth of AB's against him and Edwin has an .856 OPS so it's a meaningless exercise anyway.
  5. Quick aside: It is pretty cool having a dude with literal light tower power on the team, I remember being so jealous of the Cubs when the video from that home rum derby hit the internet, now he’s on the dang Sox.
  6. Yeah, I went into it blind as well and I’d recommend watching it that way, the twist caught me completely off guard. And yeah, it’s super impressive that they were able to take a trope that’s been used a lot, especially of late and make it feel fresh, I also found myself caring about the characters because the acting was so good. Oh and bonus points for putting Conner O’Malley in the movie, he needs to be in more things, one of the funniest people alive.
  7. That's crazy, I literally just finished it and was coming here to tag bmags' post. I thought it was great, Lonely Island made a romcom and it's easily one of my favorites of the genre.
  8. What a perfect encapsulation today is of Madrigal's hitting abilities, that's his game, get used to it.
  9. That's why Edwin's in the lineup!
  10. Man, Yasmani has been hitting the ball really hard with nothing to show for it, 105 MPH on that out.
  11. Really sucks that we have zero middle infield depth in the org
  12. what the hell are you talking about?
  13. They're not doing this, the time for that was months ago and they determined it wouldn't work, the high in Phoenix today is 112 degrees, you can't play baseball in that.
  14. Kindly go fuck yourself, Heyman. He and Nightengale just don't have a shred of dignity less.
  15. They did hit some balls hard tonight with no results. Four batted balls over 100 MPH, all outs.
  16. They won, that's all that matters. Damn good bullpen performance.
  17. the fuck was that?
  18. It would sure be nice to have a dude at closer and not bargain basement Mo Rivera
  19. Yep but they'll be over the moon because he'll execute it flawlessly and Jason and Stone will lose their shit.
  20. You're right, this whole game has been leading to that very moment
  21. Yeah, I definitely feel like Madrigal is getting another AB.
  22. Just a god awful zone tonight
  23. Well, if Colome does attempt to close it out we may get another Robert AB later.
