  1. Lilly's curve looks horrible today. Hall's about to light him up.
  2. Thank god for that brick wall behind home plate. Michael Barrett is a terrible catcher.
  3. Even the cameras are going after Ozzie today.
  4. I have a very good feeling about this game.
  5. It really is great to see Hall behind the plate. So great to have him back.
  6. I love how everyone in the lineup makes themselves dangerous.
  7. Crede was hit during fielding drills, to answer that question.
  8. It's not that big of a risk. How often does AJ actually suffer any sort of injury? If he had to be taken out of the game Ozzie would have to pull some strings for the rest of the game. Halls ability vs lefties playing over Thome's suckitude vs lefties outweighs any apocalyptic situation that may arise.
  9. And in usual Comcast fashion the audio is absolutely terrible to start the broadcast.
  10. Joe Crede was hit in the face with a ball and was lifted from lineup. Luis Terrero will play in LF and bat 8th, I assume Ozuna will move to 3rd. This pushes everyone else at the bottom of the order up another slot.

    Ozzie

QUOTE(Allsox @ May 18, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) I just heard the quick rehash on it and I'm behind Ozzie on this one. His first statement to North of "Shut the $%@& up" was appropriate given the fact North was making something out of nothing. If AJ's disappointed in not starting today, good! I'd of been surprised if AJ didn't say he was. But why is it news to North that AJ's not playing today given the fact the Sox hafta know if Hall can play? Because this just created more interest in North, the Score and the Score's website than there was before his show this morning. North has pretty much nothing to lose by creating a situation where they may not be one. North pretty much did his job this morning, why do you think he makes 7 figures?

    Ozzie

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 12:38 PM) Too much contreversy this time... The only slight controversy I see here is between AJ and Ozzie which could easily be handled out of the media spotlight. If they have such a problem with North then stop going on his show. If AJ has a problem with not playing today he and Ozzie can easily sort that out without Oz going on the radio and making an ass of himself. What exactly did Ozzie gain by telling North to shut the f*** up? Instead of a small controversy between player and manager he's now created a situation that all of his players will have to answer to for the next week. I just wish he had a little more control over what comes out of his mouth. According to KW Guillen didn't even realize how many times he said the word f***, if Mike North is inducing temporary insanity in Ozzie then perhaps Oz is in need of some sort of medication.

What ever happened to ignoring the annoying assclowns in the media?
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 18, 2007 -> 02:36 AM) You make me sad to not only be a White Sox fan, but a baseball fan in general. ditto
  15. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 17, 2007 -> 11:38 PM) Crede and Fields are both off to slow starts. If Fields will be up for that many games then you're expecting the Sox to be out of the playoff hunt or Joe to be really bad or be traded. If the Sox are in the playoff hunt I'd hardly expect to see Fields at all until the September callups. Or if Joe's back lands him on the DL like it has the past few years.
  16. QUOTE(CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 17, 2007 -> 08:07 PM) I think it has something to do with pitiful hitting. A sweep of the Cubs and this place might actually stop sounding like a bunch of armchair managers/GM's for a few days. I still don't know what the f*** you expect from an internet message board. Apparently you're new to this whole internet thing because you still haven't figured out what sports message are for. If you're not playing armchair manager/GM then what's the fun of it? QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 17, 2007 -> 08:17 PM) Now you know that will NEVER happen. Lets hope not, if armchair managing/GM'ing were to be banned from the site this place would cease to exist.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 17, 2007 -> 04:42 PM) I dont see much reality in this at all. I think the trade rumors had roto speculating. Alex Brown requested permission to seek a trade, it's not some crazy speculation from a fantasy site. It's been reported by all the major news outlets in Chicago as well. Waddle and Silvy were talking about it this morning.

    Thome

If all goes according to plan Thome will be back in the lineup on Monday.
  19. QUOTE(knightni @ May 17, 2007 -> 11:21 AM) Too bad Ian Scott is in Philly now. Scott doesn't play end so he wouldn't be much help there. The Bears currently have 5 DEs without Brown they'd still have 4 very talented ends including Adawale and Anderson which is an excellent pairing. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 17, 2007 -> 11:20 AM) Thomas Jones, Lance Briggs, and now Alex Brown. Something is going on behind the scenes. His contract is very cap friendly: 07 - $0.595 08 - $0.550 09 - $0.670 10 - FA I don't think it has anything to do with behind the scenes problems really, Jones, Briggs and Brown signed contracts at times when their value was at its lowest (Jones was a top 10 bust, Briggs was a 3rd round pick and got 3rd round money and Brown wasn't performing at all.) Brown just wants to make some money, he's looked up for less than $2M total over the next 3 years and is performing at a pretty decent level, I don't blame him for looking to get some more money.
  20. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 16, 2007 -> 11:56 PM) I wonder, if Danks were to blow out his arm soon after starting on Sunday(if he did), how much flip-flopping would go on amongst soxtalk. Over-Under says everyone in this thread that's for starting Danks would hate Ozzie if the kid was burnt out or injured himself. Going by past trends, that would not be the case. Most people around here are real good about owning up. And if Danks blows out his arm after his start on Sunday then there's something seriously wrong with his arm as of right now, 3 days rest shouldn't destroy the arm of a soft tossing 22 year old.
  21. I don't know if it's sad or kind of cool that Gustavo Molina will end his major league baseball career with a grand total of 1 hit.
  22. QUOTE(fathom @ May 16, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) Be prepared to be pissed off about how we handle the starting spot on Sunday. Broadway pitched today so that eliminates him from contention. I'm thinking Masset gets the nod.
