  1. QUOTE(briguy27 @ May 27, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) i know that, thats why i then went on to say hes a 262 lifetime hitter, to back up ur point He also has an .827 career OPS which is the 3rd highest of any player currently on the Sox' 25 man roster.
  2. .278/.347/.496/.843 vs lefties last season while playing for the Yankees and a .289/.356/.559/.915 career line vs south paws. It's a minor league f***ing contract what is there not to like about the signing?
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ May 27, 2007 -> 04:23 PM) Have you seen Chone's numbers this year? He might be the most overrated player in baseball. Anyways, I agree with you....KW has to acquire a LF. What? .131/.198/.214/.412 and a 13 OPS+ ain't good enough for ya? His .336 OBP from last season is quite sexy though.
  4. The only thing I don't like about him is his throwing arm.
  5. QUOTE(striker62704 @ May 25, 2007 -> 01:09 PM) Kalapse, did you build that Salary sheet? Thats pretty slick. Yes, yes I did. And now that you mention it I really should do an update tonight.
  6. LRLRR, RLRLR and RRLRL are all the exactly the same.
  7. So Griffey would be best off as a DH and because of this the Sox would be a good fit? I didn't know Thome was out for the year.
  8. Freel makes $2.325M this year, $3M next and $4M in '09. And since I feel obligated to mention it in any Freel thread: the guy has had multiple DUI's, has had some drug problems and is completely insane.
  9. OBP = 1.000 SLG = Undefinable You need to have atleast 1 AB in order to calculate slugging percentage. The formula is simply TB/AB. The walk would count as a TB but no AB would be recorded since a BB only counts as a plate appearance and not an at bat. Plug the TB into the formula and you get 1/0 and any number divided by zero is undefinable.
  10. QUOTE(Brian @ May 25, 2007 -> 09:30 AM) I don't get the connection to Guillen. I doubt Guillen ever threatened someone's life like that. I'm more confused as to why the fat f*** from the NFL Network is now stealing Elijah Dukes' psychopathic ideas. Can't Jamie think of an original way to threaten his wife?
  11. QUOTE(danman31 @ May 25, 2007 -> 01:05 AM) Trading Crede sounds all well and good but Fields is hitting .310 in May in AAA and you guys are acting like he would be ready this year. Everyone would be pissed at KW if he traded Crede and Fields was slumping like he did this April. Imagine those numbers against big league pitching...oye. Crede's .221/.280/.302/.582 and 3 extra base hits from April isn't exactly exhilarating same goes for his .204/.220/.347/.567, 1 BB, 7 K, 3 extra base hit May. He's been pretty much the worst everyday position player in baseball offensively this season. I wouldn't have missed him one bit.
  12. Talk about regurgitating names.
  13. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 22, 2007 -> 08:27 AM) I can't wait.
  14. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 21, 2007 -> 10:02 PM) Everett is playing for some independent team, and supposedly the Sox have been looking at him. I heard he's as large as ever right now. It's always the Long Island Ducks. If you're in your mid to late 30's and clinging to your pro career like say Edgardo Alfonso or Carl Everett or a 28 year old who really only does one thing well like Damian Rolles and his speed or Jorge Piedra and his steroids or perhaps you just suck ass like Danny Graves and John Halama then Long Island is the place for you. Everett by the way is 8 for 40 (.200 BA) w/ 0 HR, 5 RBI, 7 R and 9K/6BB. In 40 ABs Carl has 0 extra base hits. Junior Spivey also caught on in the Atlantic League and is hitting .391. Good for him. Unsurprisingly Mike Porzio and Kevin Walker are kicking the s*** out of Atlantic League hitters. Of course.
  15. Bloons or More Bloons.
  16. QUOTE(chisox72 @ May 19, 2007 -> 07:53 AM) Kick the piss out of them today!! There is nothing I hate more than losing to that team, my wife won't let me hear the end of it... Time for an offensive explosion!!! Mark DeRosa, Derek Lee and Aramis Ramirez have demolished Javy in their careers.
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:49 PM) How does someone slip and end up missing half the season? I guess it doesn't matter though, as we know how much of a mental midget he is dealing with getting over injuries when he's playing. He's just not a very good athlete, his body can not withstand the pounding brought on by athletic competition or walking for that matter.
  18. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:43 PM) no, people are just taking b****ing to a new level. When we lose people b****, when we win people b**** less. This is the most pissed off fan base I have ever been a part of. Seriously though, the partpoker guy should take his affilate linked thread out of SLAM and insert an affiliate linked tampon thread, I don't really understand what you're getting at here. The Podsednik situation was a complete f***up, I'm pretty sure there's good reason to b**** about it. With the news today that he'll be out even longer than expected it just makes the whole thing even worse.
  19. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:36 PM) AVG .303 | HR 1 | RBI 2 | OBP .378 | SLG .455 you make no f***ing sense. At least make sense. Was he worth his salary? no. I don't care if he played 1 game, those numbers are worth a dollar. Regardless of the price it left the team without a viable option in LF. Putting his eggs in the Podsednik basket left the team without any secondary options for the corner outfield spot.
  20. $2.9M for this? Bringing Podsednik back for the 2007 season will go down as one of the 3 worst moves of KW's General Managing career when it's all said and done.

QUOTE(greg775 @ May 18, 2007 -> 05:55 PM) Usually when a guy needs surgery its best to suck it up and get it taken care of. If he can't throw, what good is he??? Right he's worthless. 1.) He rehabbed the injury and got back 1.5 months after the injury which is amazing. 2.) He's already producing offensively going 2 for 3 today with a run. 3.) He can throw just fine. 4.) It's not like AJ can throw anyway out anyway, he's thrown out a grand total of 2 baserunners this year. HIZZAH!

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 18, 2007 -> 05:06 PM) Was Hall's defense always suspect? I know people liked his bat. He is going to play behind the plate sometime so if he is a bad catcher we need to get used to it. Not like it mind you just have to get used to the errors Actually Hall is very skilled behind the plate. When talking about a "catcher who can not throw" he means Hall is coming off a torn labrum which should hamper his throwing ability. Hall has been good at 2 things over the course of his career hitting lefties and playing some pretty solid defense behind the plate.
