  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 8, 2007 -> 05:27 PM) Wtf...no David Aardsma pics. Considering how great he's been, I'm shocked there isn't atleast one. It's a travesty.
  2. C. Iguchi/Other And Erstad's first name only has one 'r'
  3. QUOTE(joeynach @ May 8, 2007 -> 12:43 PM) How many of those were with 1 or more runners on base for McCarthy than with Danks. McCarthy: 1 R - Ichiro 1 R - Jose Vidro 3 R - Jose Vidro 1 R - Sal Fasano Danks: 3 R - Morneau 1 R - Ryan Garko 1 R - Josh Barfield 1 R - Brandon Inge 1 R - Jose Guillen 1 R - Yuniesky Betancourt So out of the 10 HR they've allowed combined, half of them have been hit by Mariners.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 8, 2007 -> 12:27 PM) and? Danks>BMAC and Danks wasnt even supposed to be ready until next year. KW won that trade hands down, especially with Masset. Freddy for Gio and Floyd was very equal, Gio has the chance to be a top of the rotation guy in the next 2 years and Floyd was a reach for the majors this season. I wasn't implying anything, you're just making assumptions. There was talk in the thread about McCarthy being traded because he gives up too many homeruns however this season he has been keeping the ball in the ballpark. He's still giving up a s*** load of hits and runs and his strikeout numbers are just sad but the one thing he's not doing is giving up the long ball. I don't remember ever saying I'd rather have McCarthy than Danks.
  5. .359/.438/.564/1.002 5 HR, 16 RBI, 14 BB, 18 SO, 162 OPS+
  6. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ May 7, 2007 -> 11:50 PM) Does that factor in all of the money other teams might get or have to pay? Don't listen to Zoom he knows not of what he speaks. The White Sox are 7th in baseball when factoring in all cash considerations that are being exchanged for this season. This includes the Sox and any other team in the top 10 or so. I've done the math and that's what I got. Zoom is right though, the Sox own most of the large cash deals out there right now outside of A-Rod of course.
  7. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ May 7, 2007 -> 11:20 PM) Also, we're closer to 8th in payroll when you factor in money we're getting for Thome and Vazquez and have other things to worry about with our money. This is true. I believe they are 7th.

    QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ May 6, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) Okay, I hadn't heard much about it since I first saw the ads but Harsh Times with Christian Bale was pretty awesome. Loved it. The plot was lacking a bit but Bale pulled it off. It really is amazing that someone who has his natural accent is able to do the type of accents he uses in his films.
  9. He'll be 27 next season and has been absolutely terrible on the road. .277/.353/.464/.817 career line along with a 5.22 ERA. He signed an extension last season so he'll be making 1.15M in 2007, 2.25M in 2008 and 4.5M in 2009 the deal includes a Team Option for 2010 worth 6.25M. No thanks.
  10. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 6, 2007 -> 01:58 PM) D. Erstad cf .267 P. Ozuna dh .194 J. Dye rf .217 P. Konerko 1b .204 T. Iguchi 2b .241 J. Crede 3b .208 A. Cintron ss .129 R. Sweeney lf .167 G. Molina c .000 GL winning today with that.... Even more fun, how about we use OPS+: ERSTAD 85 OZUNA 29 DYE 102 KONERKO 76 IGUCHI 98 CREDE 45 CINTRON -6 SWEENEY 30 MOLINA -100 So s***ty.
  11. What happens the first time he's asked to piss in a cup? That'll kill the NFL dream pretty quick.
  12. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 5, 2007 -> 12:21 PM) The Sox have a very good talented team that is in a slump right now. It has happened before. We have a couple key players injured and role players being put in aposition of everyday players. You can point to the Yankess also as a team going through what the Sox are, but I think the difference is the Sox pitching is so much better. We will be back on track when the team is healthy. Right now it seems that everything that can go wrong will go wrong for this team. We can't panic. Except the Sox can not afford to be terrible in the first few months of the season considering they're traditionally a horrible second half team. If history is any indication, the Sox will need a nice lead in the division at the break if they want any shot at making the playoffs. July, August and September are not kind months to the White Sox. Podsednik isn't coming back, people need to realize this. If he won't even be able to run again until mid June I don't expect him to be able to do much with his legs for the rest of the season. And Podsednik - speed = s***. So the Sox are currently missing 1 key player in hopes of having him back relatively soon. We can only hope Konerko, Dye, Iguchi and Pierzynski catch fire when the new hitting coach is introduced.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 5, 2007 -> 12:17 PM) Why is Cintron playing the rest of the weekend? Juan Uribe will miss the rest of the series to be with his ailing mother in Chicago.
  14. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ May 4, 2007 -> 11:17 PM) Maybe I'm slow, but are you talking about the smaller text? No, I mean replacing the words and ideas of others with those of my own and then agreeing to the statement. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 4, 2007 -> 11:18 PM) No no. It's the classic, "If by '________' you mean '_________', then ______, I _______." Yeah, that.
  15. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 4, 2007 -> 11:12 PM) If by "quite a bit" you mean "a helluva lot" then yes, it's evident. I've only done it twice today so I'm not exactly going overboard. You best get used to it though because I'm going to be using it even more often in the coming days.
  16. QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ May 4, 2007 -> 10:55 PM) Really? I would trade Danks. It's not like he's Liriano or Verlander. He has a Buehrlesque fastball. He's doing OK as a 22 year-old 5th starter in the AL, but I don't see any reason why he should be untouchable. If by "OK" you mean "outstanding" then yes, I agree. NOTE: I've been using this writing style a lot lately and I must say I do like it quite a bit.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 4, 2007 -> 11:04 PM) Wow he is isnt quoting psychology or showing video of their games telling them to remember when they felt good. I know, this is a very risky, abnormal approach Coop is taking with his players. Lets just hope it works.
  18. QUOTE(SoxAce @ May 4, 2007 -> 10:57 PM) In other news. To further himself on being a future stud ace and changing his 0-4 record around Danks is working on a cut fastball At least Don Cooper is still earning his money. Good stuff.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 4, 2007 -> 10:46 PM) I'd just like to add...the only reason people would say that Erstad has worked out well is that everyone else on the team is making him look decent. His .309 OBP isn't exactly sexy. I guess being a midget of above average (by midget standards) height pays afterall. EDIT: .305 OBP
  20. QUOTE(max power @ May 4, 2007 -> 10:44 PM) How? Anyway, doesn't he have a no trade clause? The pro-rated deal would include $3.33M in savings from this season since he wouldn't be playing for the Sox in August or September. And yes, you are correct he has a full no trade for 2007, which is a damn shame and would probably prevent the Sox from sending him back to New York even if it is the other league.
  21. So if Contreras is traded at the deadline the Sox would save approximately $23,333,333.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 4, 2007 -> 10:32 PM) All I know is if Omar Minaya comes a sniffing around Contreras around the trade deadline, you seriously consider moving him. If by "consider" you mean "jump on that s*** in a heartbeat" then yes I agree. If you can get a solid prospect or two for a 56 year old starting pitcher with declining stuff and ~$25M remaining on his deal, you do it. Especially considering this team is probably headed towards a rebuilding period.
  23. "Be Cool" is one of the worst f***ing movies I've ever seen.
