  1. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2007 -> 05:47 PM) Some 50 year old woman, oh its a guy, I think calls in. Now he is talking about Pods being the key to our offense coming back. Now he thinks we can get Carl Crawford. Good luck with that. It will cost you Danks and some other talent. One of my biggest pet peeves is people who have no idea what trade value a player holds or even a basic understanding of how ballclubs go about acquiring players via trade yet they can not wait to toss out all the completely ridiculous trade ideas they thought up while taking a s***. The easiest way to prove that you don't follow baseball is to come up with a trade proposal because the second I hear Broadway, Anderson and a lower tier prospect for Carl Crawford/Rocco Baldelli I know you're completely clueless.
  2. Did I really just hear a guy call into the postgame show saying the Sox still don't have a 5th starter? "AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE A 5th STARTER!!" - Asshat Caller "Danks has been pitching pretty well." - PFB "HE'S 0 and 4!!" - Asshat Caller And he was completely serious. Wow.
  3. So do people still think a pitcher's W/L record means anything?
  4. I don't care anymore.
  5. QUOTE(bulokis @ May 2, 2007 -> 11:00 AM) I agree with you on the Thome trade. After we won, we won with clutch hitting and pitching. Then KW traded for Thome and the dynamics change that KW want HR again. KW conflicted himself by getting a HR player instead of a doubles guy for example in Overbay. I'll take the 90 points SLG and 44 points OBP you get with Thome over a gap hitter like Overbay especially since the money is about even. I'll also take Thome's ability to create 120+ runs per season as opposed to Overbay's inconsistent 80-100. I do agree though Aaron Rowand is a much more productive offensive player than Thome, that was a pretty terrible trade. Despite the fact that it takes Rowand 2 seasons (72, 50) to create as many runs as Thome does in 1. (122)

  7. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2007 -> 12:11 AM) Should be a fun, pathetic lineup today. My prediction is: Erstad (1B), Iguchi, Dye, AJP, Crede, Mackowiak, Uribe, Cintron, Sweeney Will someone please be on the lookout for any reference to the '67 pennant chase? Remember, Terrero did homer yesterday. That could earn him a few starts in a row.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish @ May 1, 2007 -> 01:23 PM) Are you kidding me? What is wrong with his character? So he goofed off as an 18 year old freshman in college. What is the big deal? I think he has great character if he went to the U and this is the worst thing he did. You should really read all the posts in the thread before replying to the initial one. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 1, 2007 -> 11:12 AM) This is stuff that 100 percent of guys have at least joked about in college, my character comment was just messing with Angelo. The fact Olsen said all this doesn't make him a bad character, but the fact he said it on a recording that he knew could end up online for anyone to hear makes him pretty stupid. This is more an intelligence issue than character one. Anybody who thinks this kind of joking like in his rap doesn't go on everywhere is pretty ignorant.
  9. BA also has him listed as Faustino.
  10. That is better. One other thing, you can see the lower left edge of the black stroke on the background image just above the 'O' in the Sox logo. I'd just clip that part out and make the Logo the lower edge if I were you.
  11. How is this any worse than any random rap song? Is there the same outrage over Beason's role in the recording or do people in Carolina just not care? Just curious.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 1, 2007 -> 11:15 AM) If Anderson is not going to be starting 8/10 days or more...then this was 100% the correct move. As long as Sweeney starts 9/10 days while he's up. That's one of the reasons why I hate this move, Terrero is going to get way more ABs than he deserves. I really foresee a Sweeney/Terrero platoon brewing with how highly Ozzie thinks of the POS Terrero. I can't wait until we see a Terrero/Erstad/Sweeney outfield, probably one of the best defensive outfields in baseball but most definitely the worst offensively.
  13. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 05:29 PM) for anyone who cares and hasn't heard the song, there is a link for the 7th Floor Crew on the internet. It's kind of funny, but it's pretty much ridiculously offensive too especially if you do not take the material they rap about in a joking matter. anyways, I felt it was best not to post it, but I can PM you the link if you want to listen to it. Leitch posted it on Deadspin last year and again today, it's quite entertaining. It's pretty much what you'd expect from . . . well pretty much anyone who goes to the U.
  14. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 01:41 PM) I am again amazed at the willingness of our fans to undervalue our own players. Pods is now more more of an injury risk than Thome. They'll both be back soon enough to help win a championship. No need to panic Do you have any sort of evidence to back up any of these posts or are you going with some crazy gut feeling? Gut feelings are not facts, remember that when you're passing them off as such. I love the logic though, an abductor strain will not slow down a speed player and an abdominal strain will not weaken a power hitter with an incredibly violent swing because, well because what? You haven't even given a reason outside of the fans being pessimists and you're some sort of self appointed voice of reason.
  15. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 10:08 AM) Ryan Langerhans traded to Oakland for a PTBN. Oakland loading up on young white outfielders early this season.
  16. The Bears also signed David Ball the white WR from New Hampshire who broke Jerry Rice's TD record last season.
  17. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 09:10 PM) Yes, through 2009, same as Javier now. Javy is signed through 2010.
  18. What the hell is the point of carrying Terrero on the roster? If Erstad gets a day off then Sweeney will get the start in CF. Exactly what this team needs, another right handed hitter with no strike zone judgment and a home run hitting mentality. I didn't think it was possible but swapping Anderson for Terrero probably makes the bench even worse than it already is.
  19. Another failed first round pick. I really hope the organization is embarrassed with the flops they've been churning out through the draft. The Sox haven't produced a productive major league player with their first pick in 17 years. Pathetic.
  20. Brian Anderson will never again play for the Chicago White Sox.
  21. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 12:12 PM) We have some real good offensive people who are just struggling right now. Crede is not average nor is Perz or Iguchi. Offense has been one of our major strengths and these guys are above average and higher with the bats. However, it is troubling that this seems to happen (slumps) so often for our guys. I don't know if you blame coincidence, the hitting coach or the elements. I am sure we will be clicking soon though. You're right about Crede, he's been below average for most of his career. Good catch.
  22. I actually really like that lineup aside from the whole Cintron at 2B thing but I guess this is just one of the many days Ozzie likes to give Iguchi off. Solid lineup though.
  23. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 29, 2007 -> 01:35 AM) It was at 12:33 AM But yeah, I'm badass. It says 12:27, liar.
