Isn't the Score supposed to have some sort of "Major Sox Announcement" during the North show on Monday morning? Wouldn't this be pretty perfect for something like that?

I'm just wondering where Ozzie sees the misconception coming from. What is Ozzie reading or hearing that makes him believe that there are people who think some of his players don't like playing for him? I've never actually read or heard anything in the mainstream like that before, I'm always hearing the opposite from players around the league, except ARod of course.

He was hitting his spots to an extent, it was not 'vintage Mark'. He was still leaving all of his changeups up and overthrowing a bit at times. It was incredibly encouraging and makes me feel a little better about him going into the season but the guy still walked 3 and K'd 1, he wasn't exactly mowing them down out there. I'd like to see him spot that change with a little more accuracy and pound the righties in with his fastball with regularity. Encouraging? Yes. Stellar? No.

To good for the Predictions thread are we?

In your eye Fathom and others, I knew Ozzie would do something like this. He can't leave his boy out of the Opening Day lineup.

Outstanding, exactly what I thought he was worth. It'll be a huge positive for KW if he can get this done going into the season, he needs something like this.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) Is that the Bob Kelso robot as told by Dr Cox? Actually it was Turk talking to JD. JD came back with a "Oh yeah, well you better double check with your mom." or something along those lines.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 08:29 PM) nice tune up for Mark. would love to see more games where thornton and jenks clean up for two innings. brain anderson continues to take on chuck norris dimensions on soxtalk. I hope this debate doesn't end - the love for Brian/hatred for Erstad is pretty funny. What Anderson love? Seriously, name me more than 2-3 posters that have actually said they really like Anderson as a ballplayer. I know I don't.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 07:15 PM) That move is so awesome. You ready for some badass quality on Monday for MLB.tv? I'm real excited about them steamin at 700k. I just can't wait to download Mosaic. No work, no class I'm only concerning myself with baseball on Monday. The 700k should be ridiculous. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 07:17 PM) Okay MLB.tv question, how do they figure out the blackouts. Do they use your credit card billing address, or is it something setable. It's supposedly random signals sent out to your IP so a proxy server should take care of any blackout problems.

I've never heard of a manager putting his slowest hitter 3rd, especially when he has 2 other outstanding hitters with similar skill sets hitting behind him. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 07:10 PM) Now that was pretty situational hitting. Hit a nice fluid line drive and get the run in. Hence why I'd rather have Dye at the plate than any other hitter in the lineup during a clutch at bat, he's an awesome situational hitter, he's probably the best pure hitter on the team.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:42 PM) How come we cant get scouts like Atlanta? They have 3 young studs, all of whom were from Atlanta. Francouer refused to play for any team but the Braves, he threatened not to sign with any team that drafted him because of how badly he wanted to play for his hometown team. There wasn't much scouting involved.

Hawk just got muted. Get used to that, we're going to be seeing A LOT of solo homeruns from the 3 hole. SMALL BALL HOOOOO!!!

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:34 PM) Wow more Grindstad this inning, I cannot wait. Is there a more boring hitter in all of baseball? At least s***ty hitters like Juan Uribe mix it up a bit or blast one every once in a while with Erstad it's either a ground out to second or a blooper in front of the LF.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:33 PM) I think the results will be a little higher than that. I think the true percentages should be a little bit lower than that. Lower in 1 and higher in 2 that is We'll see, it seems like a very small segment of Sox fans have taken the negative approach prior to this season and anyone with the desire to text some dumbass poll during a Sox broadcast is more than likely pretty optimistic about this season.
-
If David Eckstein were the the starting 2B for the Sox, that double play is not turned.
-
1.) 73% 2.) 27% 3.) 0%
-
Wow, I'm not sure what the hell Tadahito was trying to do right there. He's in for a huge let down this season if he wants to be a power hitter.
-
Man I love Jeff Francouer, he doesn't let little things like walks and going working the count get in the way of more important things like launching the ball into orbit.
-
Erstad saw 3 pitches by the way, 1.) ball 2.) called strike 3.) ground out
-
Ugh, didn't see that coming.
-
Ugh, I forgot just how bad Pablo is in LF. Another season of s*** outfield defense should be fun.
-
Jermaine Dye is f***ing big time. Such a great hitter.
-
Rogers started game 3 of the ALDS behind Verlander, game 3 or the ALCS behind Verlander and game 2 of the World Series behind Verlander. Hmm. Verlander and Bonderman = 23 year old inexperienced pups, Rogers = 41 year old seen-it-all vet with a perfect game and previous playoff experience under his belt and Verlander still pitched ahead of Rogers in each series. Do you really think Kenny Rogers is better than Verlander or Bonderman?
-
If the Sox lose Contreras they're f***ed seeing as how he's their best starter. Rogers on the other hand is the Tigers' 3rd best starter and once his replacement Chad Durbin s***s the bed we'll see another of their future aces in Andrew Miller. This injury sucks and all but it's hardly going to derail the Tigers' season.
