QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) Teddy Bruschi I'm so sick of hearing that name.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) I wasn't sure if he really hadn't tested positive, but just admitted usage. Yeah, he just admitted that he took some s*** that he got from Balco during his grand jury testimony. He never actually tested positive.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) You should've stopped while you were ahead... Reed makes some great plays out there in CF and probably would be in my top ten in GG caliber OFers. Kotsay and Rowand had better years than Hunter and Reed though.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) If that seriously happened, the voters should be ashamed of themselves. It did and the Players and Managers are the voters.

I have a link to an upload of the SNL skit

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) Was there an actual skit, or just Pods on Weekend Update? Did I turn it off and go to sleep too soon? It was just Weekend Update. -
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) I'll give you that...Varitek winning a Gold Glove has pretty much locked down the fact that the Gold Glove award means about as much as a Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Award Actually, Raffy Palmeiro winning a GG at 1B in '99 after playing only 28 games at that position was the official death of the Gold Glove Award.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) How many errors did Eric Chavez make? 15. Crede made 10. Crede should get that Gold Glove. Also Buehrle is a much better fielder than Rogers. Hunter didn't even play in 100 games this year. What BULLs***! Not really.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) I'm pretty sure this is true. He admitted he took them - if you believe the GJ leak (I do)- but never tested positive that I read. That was the only bit of sincerity I used in that post.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) You know how to use green right?
-
QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:39 PM) Michigan got robbed. They should have had 3 gold gloves, AT LEAST. How the f*** didn't Jason Avant get one?
-
He is a class act. I mean he may have taken an illegal substance and disgraced the game, his team and the fans but hell he came clean and now we know with 110% certainty that he's putting up his current numbers steroid free. Oh yeah, he never actually tested positive. Jason Giambi, a true hero.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Aaron deserves one but there is no point in being upset considering this award has seriously become a joke. I'm still going to update my sig, even though I'm really not upset.
-
Kurkjian agrees that Aaron Rowand fans (me), have a right to be upset and I agree. Yet I'm really not upset.

I don't see how NBC can run radio spots promoting the show "Earl" with the main hook being; "if you watch Earl you'll get to see Jaime Presely in a bikini!" when a majority of the population has already seen her naked numerous times.
-
QUOTE(HighHeat45 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Jeter and Varitek are the only ones who made the playoffs, and they were both eliminated in the first round. All these good fielders are on crappy teams. The Gold Glove award is for the best fielders in the league, not for the best fielders on the best teams in the league.

I missed C, OF and P

I got Tex right.

Hudson, Wells snag gold gloves.
-
QUOTE(rventura23 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:06 PM) Orlando Hudson and Vernon Wells won according to Toronto News 3 down, 6 to go.

Will Bush Invite the Team to the White House?
Kalapse replied to SouthSidePride05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) I'd love to see Ozzie and the trophy pictured with Chavez, politics aside it'd be great for baseball and great for our team. There's a whole new country filled with potential fans or even potential future players. I wouldn't mind Jose and Duque getting a parade around Cuba either, but something tells me they'd be arrested. No matter how much I dislike Bush...I'd still enjoy seeing that team on the lawn. That was one Hell of a team. Exactly, politics aside you have to want to see your team in the White House, it's just an extreme honor. -
Will Bush Invite the Team to the White House?

QUOTE(DABearSoX @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) I would rather see them pose for a picture with the Venezuelan president......but you know Bush always needs to find time off from doing actual work.... That would be f***ing stupid. I don't give a s*** what you think of Bush, you can't honestly want this team to Venezuela a be pictured with Chavez. As opposed to visiting the White House just as every other major sports champ has done. -
QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) I think it's safe to assume that no one from the Sox will win the Cy Young. I think Rivera will end up winning. They won't win it, but it still hasn't been announced yet.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) There is part of me that is sort of happy about no GG for the Sox. We had no batting champs, no HR kings, no GG's, no Cy Youngs, and no Roliad Relief men. This was a total team effort, and I love it. They havn't announced CY Young yet . . .

QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) AJ has no shot. Uribe has no shot since they already said Jeter won it (although he should have won it). Crede is extremely unlikely because A-Rod plays in New York. And Buehrle/Garland likely won't win it, but should. I think Rowand will win one though. No, he won't
