  1. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) Do a little research on Matsui's contract. It has some very bizzare clauses and such that, if I'm not mistaken, prevent him from becoming a free agent in the truest sense of the term.
  2. QUOTE(joeynach @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:36 PM) One name to keep in mind if konerko goes is Shea Hillenbrand, up and comer he is. Hillenbrand is in his 3rd year of Arbitration eligibility. I highly doubt the Blue Jays let him go.
  3. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:31 PM) I wouldn't pay him upwards of $10M either. I was thinking around $8M. Except $8M more than likely will not be enough.
  4. A little early don't ya think?
  5. QUOTE(bulokis @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:15 PM) I havent look at the Free agent list but we definitely need a big LH bat in our lineup. Is Huff a free agent? no but Brian Giles is.
  6. QUOTE(toasty @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Kyle Orton 17/31 230yds 1TD, 0 INT
  7. It's great how the team made "Don't Stop Believin'" it's theme song and all but seriously Journey still sucks.
  8. Atleast it appears the 1st place Chicago Bears will manage to hold my attention for a few more weeks.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:09 PM) I have learned not to ask questions anymore when it comes to Steve.... :headshake And he calls himself a mod.
  10. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) Iguchi is a decent second baseman but he is the weakest link defensively in the infield. Ozzie has already stated that he wants to add more speed next year, so Furcal would be a good addition. Uribe is a great defensive SS and he played great at 2B in 2004. Ozzie thinks Iguchi would make a good RBI man if he were moved down in the order, so putting him at DH is not a far-fetched idea. Besides, I like the idea of a DH who can also play well in the field when needed rather than a DH only butcher-in-the-field type. If not Furcal, then keep everything as it is except upgrade at DH with Hideki Matsui. He can also play some CF if needed. Point is, now is the time to add not subtract. Furcal is seriously not worth the money considering what position he plays. Teams like the Cubs who are in dire need of a SS and a leadoff man would be more inclined to give Furcal upwards of $10M, the White Sox in their current situation do not need him for that kind of money.
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) hi8is wow, awesome awesome job. hell, everyone on this site that does these has some skills thanks for everything. What did hi8is do?
  12. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) Hmmm..... Interesting I say we mic up Kyle next week, mybe he can toss up 300 Vs the Saints.
  13. Ed Farmer hates Buck Showalter more than anything.
  14. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) I think there will be one or two of those hits on jacked up tomorrow. The Tommie Harris hit for sure. Garcia's gonna be sitting in a tub of ice for the next 2 hours or so just trying to numb the pain.
  15. I doubt he'll take it seeing how Moose doesn't really bring much to the table. Tony Fisher isn't bad but he has better backs than that already on his team. You win that trade pretty easily IMO.
  16. Jeff Garcia got the living s*** beat out of him today, it was f***ing beautiful.
  17. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 07:32 AM) a little insulting to PK to compare him to Beltran, don't you think? QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) BS. beltran's an outfeilder, PK's an infeilder. PK's performance this year in general has shown that he's way more valuable than beltran. i'll wager that you were one of those people who at the all star break was screaming that we should trade joe crede for vinny castilla or randa. dont take offense, im not trying to insult you. just my inclination. No offense or anything but you know absolutely nothing about baseball if you truely believe this.
  18. QUOTE(Brian @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) I'd wait an hour to sit next to Amy Poehler Not if you have Lisa Dergen waiting at home.
  19. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) I was thinking about this but i couldn't figure it out. Last year the sox signed timo to a one year deal which expires this year, but on MLB.com he is not on the FA list. Is he arbitration eligable or did they screw up? Timo Perez is in his second year of arbitration.
  20. If you really want a team that wears blue to win the WS next year, I'd say both the Dodgers and Blue Jays have a better chance of winning it all than the Cubs.
  21. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 01:40 AM) How can you be so confident? One year back, everyone said (including most Sox fans) that we would never ever win it all Let's see what happens.... Que Sera Sera....whatever will be will be, the future's not ours to see....Que Sera Sera I'm a f***ing psychic. Note the fact that I predicted the World Series winners for the next 2 years as well . . . and correctly I might add.
  22. The Cubs already had their chance and they f***ed it up. '03 - Cubs (Up 3-1 in the NLCS and f***ed it up) '04 - Red Cubs '05 - White Sox '06 - Indians '07 - Pirates I understand what Mike Downey is getting at here but it's just not gonna happen, the Cubs' year was 2003 and they f***ed it up, it's their own damn fault.
  23. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Does anybody know when the actual FA signing period begins? If I did my math correctly, Nov 12th would be the first day a player can sign with a team other than his own.
  24. I'm gonna need someone to watch this for me too and tell me when they come on. I can't sit through this s***. NBC is seriously pissing me off, they're forcing me to watch segments fo their s***ty shows just so I can see an appearance by a White Sox player.
