  1. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Yeah, they don't play him all the time though. Felipe Lopez has turned out to be their surprise offensive stud, and he plays SS meaning Rich Aurilia, who has had somewhat of a renaissance this year, frequents 3rd. Edwin has played 46 games at 3B compared to Aurilia who has played 16 games at 3B and most of those came when giving Randa the day off earlier in the year. Aurilia mainly plays 2B with Lopez at SS and Freel playing OF or giving guys days off in the infield.
  2. QUOTE(Frank the Tank 35 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 04:44 PM) I see your point, but look at the other teams: Cinci Aurilia Cinci has Edwin Encanarcion at thirdbase.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) My friend and I were commenting on the handsome Mr. Hafner last night. His scoreboard photo looks like Shrek. A face only a mother could love.
  4. This is pretty much bulls***, all these pictures are is ballplayers with girls. A lot of the guys are posing with them, there's not much incriminating evidence here. All of this s*** is pretty stupid.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Oh please Lord tell me you mistakenly forgot the green.... Just going with the flow... I'm not part of the JR's a cheap bastard fan club.
  6. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) You dont put someone with his range at DH. Range means nothing when you get s*** jumps. Alex Sanchez is faster than Pods yet appears to be a DH if he ever makes it back to the AL. Speed means nothing if you can't read the ball off the bat.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) And Ozzies... Plus don't forget Paul Konerko sucks. Konerko should just shut his damn mouth. And Reinsdorf was too cheap to get Griffey.
  8. Thank god we didn't trade for him or else this same freak injury would have happened and he'd be out for the year for us too.
  9. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) I watch him, and I dont think he's below average. He's pretty average in my book, just because of his speed and ability to get to balls which alot of people don't get to. Yet at the same time he gets quite possibly the worst jumps in baseball, so in essence he's not getting to any balls that noone else does because he's getting later jumps. He constantly miss plays balls and has 0 arm. Pods is nowhere near average, he's a DH.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) According to the stats this year, Pods is the 2/3rd best defensive LF in the league. Defensive stats don't mean a whole hell of a lot. Pods is well below average, most everyone that watches him play knows that.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) According to stats last year, Carlos Lee should of been a gold glove. According to LF stats and defensive stats that don't say a whole hell of a lot. GGs are won by people seeing you play not by stats. LFers (Bonds excluded) generally don't win GGs.
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) The Sox wanted to add speed, a leadoff hitter, pitching, defense, catching, a solid 2b, and a replacement for Maggs. With Pods, Viz, Hermanson, AJ, Dye, and Iguchi, they filled those needs. Lee is an asshole in the clubhouse apparently with below average defense, and is definetly not what the Sox wanted. Lee >>> Pods in the field Clubhouse s*** is all circumstantial. The Sox started off building this team around speed and defense and it worked for the first half but as it turns out the Sox need another good RBI man for the middle of the order, which Lee is.
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) We did. You know why? We traded Lee for Pods, Vizcaino, AJ, Dye, Hermanson, and Iguchi. And Lee sucks anyway. This is an incorrect statement, Lee is a very good baseball player.
  14. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) Iguchi should be ROY IMHO. IMO, Iguchi is not a rookie seeing how he's 30 years old and has been playing professional ball for 9 years now. Not to mention the fact that Huston Street is having a better year than him. Street: 5-1 1.58 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 70 K/74 IP, 21 SV Cano: .291/.317/.449 12 HR 58 RBI 71 R 33 2B 65 SO 1 SB 2 CS Iguchi: .277/.343/.437 13 HR 67 RBI 70 R 24 2B 109 SO 14 SB 5 CS ROY wise Street>>>Cano>>>Iguchi
  15. Also, this is one of the worst setup polls in the history of Soxtalk, the next time you decide to make a poll try to use a little more objectivity. The way the choices are phrased you're influencing the voter's selection.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) Victor Martinez is just as responsible for the Indians charge as is Hafner. ARod or Ortiz will be the MVP. You can make a great case that Grady Sizemore is the Indians MVP, he's quite possibly the best leadoff hitter in the American League right now and carried the Indians the last 2 months. AL Cy Young = Bartolo Colon AL MVP = Alex Rodriguez AL ROY = Huston Street (Cano a close second) AL Rolaids Relief = Mariano Rivera AL Manager of the Year = Eric Wedge NL Cy Young = Chris Carpenter (Willis/Clemens battle for 2nd) NL MVP = Albert Pujols (Andruw Jones close 2nd) NL ROY = Ryan Howard (Francouer a close 2nd) NL Rolaids Relief = Chad Cordero NL Manager of the Year = Tony Larussa (or Bobby Cox) EDIT: For some reason I mixed up Pujols and Jones.
  17. I think a big part of the defense on Sunday is going to be blitzing DBs. The couple times we brought Harris and Brown on blitz' we really got to Harrington, now if the Bears can implement some blitz's from the outside using Tillman, Vasher and Azumah, we could seriously raddle Palmer. Also, delayed blitz' Urlacher off the right side of the defense on the left Gaurd worked very well, with Brian picking up 2 sacks and forcing an INT on another blitz. The fact that we can successfully blitz anybody on our defense at anytime is a huge headache for the offense.
  18. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) "rescue me" is the only show i can say that i had those feelings about anytime lately. That too. The difference is, I Tivo'ed the entire 2nd season of Rescue Me, week by week and didn't watch any of the episodes until one day where I watched the entire season at one time. So I never had to wait for next week. FX is probably my favorite channel right now with Rescue Me, Nip/Tuck, Starved, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and others. It's passed up every other channel.
  19. Just finished watching the Season 3 opener of Nip/Tuck on Tivo... IMO it is the best show currently on television. It's the only show that when I'm finished watching I desperately want to see the next episode, the only other show that ever did this for me was 24.
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) What? I heard his comments today on Carmen and Silvy, and he said "We all know i am uncoverable. But after looking over the tape of their last game and the game against the Skins, this defense is unbelievable. they are sliding all over the place.." i heard cockiness, but nothing like his previous escapades. What you heard was his conference call. ESPN also interviewed him today, he had some more interesting comments to make then.
  21. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) No Annie Savoy speech? No "I wanna bring the heat! I wanna announce my presence with authority!"? Shameful. Overrated movie. 20% sports movie 80% love story
  22. Chad Johnson has begun the trash talk, this is gonna be a damn good game... He thinks that Azumah will be covering him on Sunday and couldn't remember the name of the other guy that might be on him (Vasher), he said it really doesn't matter because noone in the NFL can cover him anyway... he did say the Bears defense is fast and that they should wear black and yellow because they're like bumble bees... He also mentioned Mike Brown's name, which isn't the best idea, considering he's not afraid to take out a wide reciever...
