Chicago @ Boston - ALDS Game 3
QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) a little rain can only help the whitesox today. it will take the crowd out of the game and could get us to the shabby piece of jackcheese bosox bullpen. the only thing hitting the monster harder than us today should be the rain... Rain will NOT take the crowd out of the game. They had a long rain delay against the A's near the end of the season this year, just about every fan stayed and were loud as f*** even while it was comming down. I highly doubt a little rain will silence them.

playoff merchandise
QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 08:31 AM) See, this is where that "second-class citizen" thing kicks in again. I've been looking at a bunch of local stores for playoff shirts and the only store I saw anything in was Kohl's ( they had the hat, but no shirts ). I know Dick's has them, but that's a bit of a drive for me. When the Cubs won the division in 2003, they had s*** EVVVVV-REEE-WHERRRE. If you went to a f***ing pet shop they probably had Division Champs doggy shirts. And now Sox fans can't even get MAIL ORDER to work right. It's f***ed up. God damn, you've been letting loose lately. I love it.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 02:26 AM) My favorite baseball guy that espn has is Karl Ravech and he's not even an analyst. Gonna have to agree with you on that one.

Hawk played golf with grandson in Florida, tell me he doesn't have good reasons for being down there.

Famous White Sox Fans
He may have a habit of throwing up in the huddle in big games (3 times is a trend) but I'll take him on the Sox Celebrity Fan list anyday.

Blackhawks Are Back!!
I'd say if I was able to see some of the home games on TV I might become a causual fan, however with only 41 locally televised games, it's hard for me to find any interest in the Blackhawks. I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Giambi - Comeback player of the year..
The MLB might be testing for steroids right now (however mediocre the testing process may be) but they still aren't testing for HGH and a couple othere perfomance enhancing substances. I can't stand the bulls*** people spew, I have no idea how many times I've heard "See he's putting up great numbers without the aid of performance enhancing drugs, he's a great pure talent and needs no foreign substance to help him succeed." when in fact there is absolutely no f***ing gaurantee at all that anyone in baseball is "clean". They still don't test for everything and the current testing process is flawed beyond belief. Once they put a test for HGH and everything else in place then maybe I'll believe that some of these guys are doing what they're doing on their own and without the help of a performance enhancing substance, until then I refuse to just say that a guy is clean because of the current testing.

Chris Berman?
QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 10:51 PM) I think the poor national play-by-play is a disgrace. I'm no Bob Costas fan, but give me him and Jim Morgan for 9 innings and I might like it. Joe Buck: pompous jerk, benefactor of nepetism Gammons: east coast schmuch, has perfected the "nerdy baseball stat geek" Kurkan: Gammons lite. This guy was obviously the scorekeeper for the varsity team. Sutcliffe: not bad actually, not good, just not bad either. Whoever-was-on AT/HOUSTON tonight: terrible, worst I've heard. The play-by play guy almost blew his load over Curt Schilling, who has exactly one clutch series in his career. The analyst didn't do anything good either. I still long for the days of "Hawk, Wimpy and the crew" Joe?

Chris Berman?
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) Berman violates the number one part of his job: He ain't the show. The game is. Hit mute and listen to Rooney and Farmio There's about a 10-12 second delay between ESPN's HD feed and the radio broadcast.

2005 is not 2004
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Not when we were playing without some key personel. When we were full strength we took 2 of 3 from them. When we took 2 of 3 they were missing Vlad and K-Rod, I'd call that key personel for the opposition.

2005 is not 2004
QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) if you take out the sweep, we've played some great games v. the angels this year...including Dyes walk off that i was at It's hard to just ignore 3 games.

The Pride of the South Side
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) I really cant remember hearing a a song after a homerun. I thought the crowd was singing it for sure. I guess I never paid attention to it. I don't think Nancy plays it after every HR but she does play it for some of the bigger HRs.

The Pride of the South Side
QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) interesting... first we throw the 17 world series and now the na - na song is for the home run... i always thought it was "You can put it on the board... yes!" but... could be wrong... Actually our signature HR celebration would be the fireworks/exploding scoreboard, not to mention the small air-rade siren that goes off.

The Pride of the South Side
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) .....or its the best exit song for an opposing pitcher. Cant recall hearing that after a homerun Listen to Tadahito's HR again from yesterday. It's better when they pull the opposing pitcher but they play the song for both.

2006 White Sox marketing slogan
QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) You don't remember Paxson hitting the 3s with Jordan vs the Lakers in the 1991 Finals? His shot in the '93 finals was even better.

All this talk about tickets and memorabilia lately
QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 6, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Go big, I say. Sox, Bears, Bulls, Hawks tix... Other sports stuff... Cards, pennants, autographs, plaques, bats, balls... etc. I really like this idea. Ebay has some big downsides, this would really centralize the whole thing and would be a great place to find Chicago stuff.
