Anybody see this poll on ESPN
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) ARow has also been one of our best clutch hitters this year. I'd ended up have voting for Pods, Dye, or Everett in that category. His RISP/RISP w/2out numbers have been great all season long and he finished with some damn good numbers. RISP: .290/.366/.433 RISP w/ 2 out: .354/.417/.508 ...and he finished the year 3-6 with 8 RBI w/ the bases loaded, since he was 3-24, 10 RBI comming into the season.

The Widge
QUOTE(forrestg @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) I think kw and Ozzie picked catchers who could call the best games . I have no complaint about widger or aj hitting. Widger hit a great home run off off of was it Zito. MY only complaint is throwing men out stealing bases . They are not so goof what about 20%. this could be better Just look at the guys they have to catch for, Contreras is probably the worst pitcher in baseaball at holding guys on, Freddy is right up there with him as is El Duque. Buehrle is one of the best at holding guys at first so people don't even bother trying to steal off Buehrle, so that gives them less oppurtunities. AJ and Chris may not be all that great at throwing people out but they get absolutely no help from 3 of the 5 guys they caught on a regular basis during the season.

Who would you rather see win the NLCS?
I love Pujols. I love Oswalt. I am indifferent when it comes to the two teams in general. I am indifferent when it comes to Astros fans. I hate Cardinals fans. Therefore I guess I want the Astros to win.

Los Angeles @ Chicago - ALCS Game 1
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 04:55 PM) Anyone post any jinxing broom smilies in here? -- I deleted anyone who prematurely posted them in the ALDS threads, but I don't really wanna read through 15 pages going on smilie patrol. Only 1, from a troll. Post #162 Though he is jinxing the Angels by saying they'll be sweeping the Sox.

Game 2 TV?
If you're in the St. Louis/Houston market you'll get the NLCS game on Fox and you'll get the Sox/Angels game on FX and vice versa.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) I have always thought the Joe was at his best when the game is on the line. It just proves that most people who aren't Sox fans know s*** about the team. How many walk off/game winning hits do Uribe and Crede have combined?

Just for the record, it's Jan Pascente not Jay Pasconte. And also for the record I have no f***ing clue who she is.

QUOTE(Beastly @ Oct 11, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) God, I can't stand people who boo our own players at the games. It really doesn't help them or make them feel welcome. Players have feelings too. Or should I say, why don't you get your ass out there and get someone out? Or why don't you be hired as GM? Yeah, thats what I thought. Have the Cubs contacted you about a managerial position yet? You'd fit in perfectly with that line of thinking.

QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) There must be a reason why Jenks doesn't throw his knuckler in game situations. A knuckleball seises to be a knuckleball when it's comming at you at 80 MPH.

Official NFL General Discussion Thread
I absolutely love Troy Polamalu, line him up at SS, FS, LB, DE, he dominates at every spot on the field. I wanted him in the '03 draft instead of Haynes. He'd look damn good next to Mike Brown

Los Angeles @ Chicago - ALCS Game 1
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) I was watching Monday Night Football and they had an interview with Jim Belushi, he slyly mentions the White Sox and Al Michaels says "You're a Cubs fan, you can't be pulling for the Sox!" and the Belush answers; "well, you can be a Chicago fan" I then shut it off, I didn't want to hear that idiot explain any more, so expect his dumb ass to be gooning around the Cell... :headshake :puke I was yelling at my TV telling him to STFU, we may be seein him at the Cell sometime soon.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) PK -- 134 AB's w/ RISP 'Zilla -- 182 AB's w/ RISP If Pauly had 182 ABs w/ RISP he'd have approximately 136 RBI.

ALCS.........
QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 10, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) Seriously, how do we match up with these guys? Can we defeat them? What are the odds of us winning in your estimation? This is the most even possible matchup we could have. They compare best to us, average to below average offense that manages timely hits, very good starting pitching and a great bullpen.

Catch-All Anything Thread
"Black Betty" by Spiderbait, pwns my soul. I can't even think without hearing this song, it has consumed me. The bad part is, it gets incredibly annoying after hearing it for the 3rd and 4th time. I can't escape it.
