  1. QUOTE(Reddy @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) here are some good ones that SoxRock missed! Don't encourage him.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 10:23 AM) Was it the Peter Griffin purring like a Walrus, or Chris talking about how his underpants rode the right way that sunk this movie down the toilet? The s***ty Stewie finding himself from the future storyline contributed in a big way.
  3. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 10:57 AM) Well Arrington right now isn't contributing very well for the Skins, hence why they are considering cutting him. He's not doing a good job stopping the run, and just wants to rush the passer all day. Granted Hillemeyer ain't on the level of Urlacher and then Briggs, but it's not a gaping hole that the Bears need to fill. DT I think you got a pretty good rotation in there with Harris / Johnson / Scott, better than other teams in the NFL for sure. And I really think the Bears need a Witten/Gates/Shockey at TE, it'd take their passing attack to a whole new level, and really open up the field for whoever is the QB. I totally agree. Right now the one thing we should be looking into is replacing Desmond Clark, he looks old and bad. By adding a TE Orton would have a steady reciever to match up against LBers across the middle which would be huge for Kyle. Hunter may be a decent LB but it is a hole, he's extremely unathletic and is pretty pathetic in coverage. He's the one of the reasons that the Bears run so much nickle, this way we get him off the field and get a quicker, more athletic and better player on the field in Azumah. This creates a problem when you're constantly sending 2 LBers and 5 DBs out there for every down. Comming into the season DT was a hole for the Bears, I was pretty confident in Ian Scott but it was tough to say if he was going to be able to produce like he did at the end of last season. Through the first 3 games Scott has shown that he can be a starter in the NFL, though Harris looks like s*** right now, this could be contributed to the injuries he's been battling.
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) The skins are already screwed Cap Wise, releasing LaVar would only increase the pressure there. And the Bears already have 3 good LB's and don't need to upgrade there. G/WR/TE and a S is where they need to upgrade. Hunter Hillenmeyer is not a "good" linebacker, he's mediocre, average at best. Lavarr Arrington would push this Bears defense to a whole new level. Our holes on D right now are OLB, S and at times DT. You are right though the Bears would look into a WR or a TE long before they'd look at a LB simply because of how good their defense is compared to their offense.
  5. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 08:58 AM) I found this on craigslist.com it is pretty funny. Shame they spelled seaboard wrong.
  6. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) You think they could leave off Blum and bring in BMAC? Ozzie will never do it. He loves Blum's versatility.
  7. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) I'm not saying he wasn't in favor of the Red Sox, he's a Red Sox fan, thats natural. However, I just don't think it was nearly as dramatic as people make it out to be. Whatever. It's his job, he should be able to put his personal feelings aside and do unbiased play by play.
  8. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 01:06 AM) See, I just don't understand the double standard here. I absolutely loved Pierzynski a couple weeks ago stepping on Boone as he crossed third, but was it classy? absolutely not. I guess when its someone you like, you're not going to mind him doing it. AJ's was unintentional where Manny's is intentional. big difference. I loved Carlos Lee when he was on the Sox but I wanted to slap him around every time he stood at home plate gazing at one of his HRs. I love the way Juan Uribe immediatley puts his head down and runs after hitting a HR, act like you've done it before.
  9. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:59 AM) which one? Try both. I think taking your batting gloves off at home plate may be one of the most classless things a ballplayer can do.
  10. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) why does everybody assume that players golf in the offseason? I can't imagine Manny Ramirez out driving golf balls.. Why? Just about every damn athlete plays golf, it's a great stress reliever.
  11. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Keep Duque and Marte; drop Viz. After what Duque did today is there any reason to use Viz? No. but we may need marte to face a lefty. What's the point of having Marte face a lefty if he can't get him out? I really don't get this logic.
  12. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) Red Sox games on FOX where Buck and McCarver are announcing, I utilize the mute button. It's a great tool. I can definitly see where youre coming from. Can't mute the TV. I have to beable to hear the crowd in order to get the full feel for the game and I can't turn on the radio because there's a 10 second delay between ESPN's HD feed and 1000's radio broadcast, I'm stuck listening to Berman.
  13. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) yeah but i think that changes in the postseason. He is probably one of the best postseason pitchers in baseball history. He was in Yankee history that's for sure. If you're strickly talking about the post season, I'd rather leave Bobby in the closers role and keep Duke as a middle reliever.
  14. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:39 AM) hell you could pitch better than Marte right now. Well that goes without saying.
  15. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) No announcer is going to be completely unbias. While I think ESPN did a poor job in assigning the Berman group to the Red Sox game, I think he did an excellent job of calling the game down the middle. ...and in all honesty, why on earth does it matter? Why be all nutty over how some loser was more in favor of the Red Sox than the White Sox when you're on your way to the ALCS. When you're watching a game intensly it kind of sucks to constantly hear the announcer cheer for the other team.
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) No, no we don't. Having a lefty just for the sake of having a lefty is stupid. We're better off having Bobby Jenks throw with his left arm than having Damaso in the pen.
  17. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) I watched every out of this series Then you aren't very perceptive.
  18. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:33 AM) ...because at the end of the game he said sometihng along the lines of "and the Red Sox will not repeat this season." They were the World Series Champions, it seems to work for me. Did you listen to the broadcast? This is a serious question because as of right now I don't think you did.
  19. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) Berman's Boston connection really didn't show whatsoever in this series. He just, as mentioned earlier in this thread, didn't do his homework on the White Sox very well. His Boston connection was glaring in the 3rd game.
  20. Doesn't a lefty lose all effectiveness when can no longer get lefties out? Our righties are more than capable of getting left handed hitters out at a higher clip than Damaso currently can. I don't really give a s*** what arm he throws with, he can't get anyone out especially lefties, this team goes against all logic, our righties are better at getting left handed hitters out than our lefties are.
  21. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) Can we beat the Angels? IMHO, we can beat anyone.
  22. I'm gonna say it one more time. I heart Frank.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxmanager @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) we know that yankee stadium has a short porch in right and that the more lefties coming out of the pen the better.....? then again i would rather see Bmac on the squad at this point. Right now with the Angels up 11-7 in the bottom of the 8th inning in game 3 of this series, I'm assuming they're going to win this game. That would put them up 2 games to 1 with which means they'd have 2 games to win 1. At this point, I think there's a damn good chance we see the Angels in the first round.
  24. I'm pretty sure most people don't go to Red Sox games to see Johnny Damon play, singles/doubles and the occasional stolen base aren't exactly crowd pleasing.
