Carlton Fisk and the White Sox
Is it possible that all this winning has become predictable and stale. Now where talking about s*** that happened five years ago and how steep the UD is at the Cell. Is it possible that maybe just maybe we need the Sox to lose just so we'll have something to talk about. Or maybe it's just the fact that we're not used to having the best record in baseball and being 5 games up on the 2nd place team and 11 games up on the 3rd place team, we don't know how to handle winning so we have to talk about stupid s*** because it's getting old talking about the White Sox winning ways over and over again. Or maybe just maybe a few people a starting a couple of stupid f***ing threads because they have nothin better to do and enjoy seeing a thread they that started up on the board. Either way I think we can all agree on one thing, .

Carlton Fisk and the White Sox
QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) Carlton chose who "his" team and who "his" fans were when he chose which cap he wore into the hall of fame. I don't think it's too far-fetched to feel betrayed by that decision. Is he that vindictive that he needs to punish an entire city for the actions of an asenine owner? Uh, okay. I'm done. Didn't this happen happen 5 years ago. Let it ago dude.

Carlton Fisk and the White Sox
QUOTE(CubKilla @ May 26, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) Dumbest..... Post..... EVER! Carlton's decision was, in no way, directed at the fans. It was directed at that jerkoff Jerry Reinsdorf. And I, for one, don't blame him and I hold no ill will towards Fisk. If I was so unceremoniously s*** upon by the Organization that I gave a decade's + worth of hard work and sweat too, I would go tell my ex-boss to go eat a dick too.

QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) Wasn't there a lot of people who said Iguchi wouldn't be very good in the Majors as well....and how has that worked out? I am sure KW will have him scouted and will go from there. Who said Ichiro wouldn't be successful in America. I remember people picking him as an early rookie of the year candidate before he even signed with the Mariners.

QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) How do we know that this pitcher sucks without seeing him ever pitch... He doesn't suck but his numbers and scouting reports suggest that he wouldn't make a very good major league pitcher. And there are much better pitchers than him in Japan.

Bonderman
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) It would take a lot to get Bonderman, but to suggest he is untradeable is a little ridiculous. No player is untradeable - I'm sure even the White Sox would trade Jon Garland for the right package right now. Of course, the right package would include probably about $20 mill in money, someway or another, someone to take on Dye and his fugly ass contract, a stud RFer, a good SP to replace Garland, along with 2 bullpen arms and 2 prospects(hopefully Steinbrenner is listening) I would guess it would take the FG package * 2, talent wise. Probably 2 top 5 specs, and then 1 or 2 more top 20 specs. No team should want to pay that. So ya, he is pretty much untradeable. Who said he was untradeable?

Mike Lowell
QUOTE(poorme @ May 26, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) lowell killed the ball a couple of times yesterday. he might be coming around.... what about wes helms just to give us a backup 3B/1B. I hate Wes Helms. I never want to here his name again. If you like Wes Helms go talk to a Brewers fan, and ask them their opinion of Wes Helms, they're sentements will be of similar nature to mine.

The Baseball Hall of Fame decides what team you are inducted as. He has a little say but it is hard to change the committees mind on what hat you'll wear.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 26, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) Go to the UD in yankee stadium and then see how steep it is. The UD at the cell is not that steep at all and it's a great view. Jacob's Field has the steepest UD I've ever sat in. It's scary.

QUOTE(Cubs Suck23 @ May 26, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) With Ozzie being close friends with Chico do you think he might miss a game or two Absolutely not. He Idolized the man but he's not going to miss work because he passed away. Ozzie will morn his death and reflect but he won't miss any games.- 2001 Draft in Review
QUOTE(YASNY @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) Is the link to this review not working for anyone else? The link is dead.- Bonderman
Detroit would never trade thier ace to the Sox, for sure. It would take a giant package to land him, if a team was interested they would have to overwelm the Detroit Brass with a deal that could not be rejected.- RIP Chico Carrasquel
QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:47 AM) Oh no, when? How? Bruce Levine is reporting that he has passed. They didn't say when or how.- Pujols a class act
Albert Pujols is an unbelievable human being. He's taking his stardom so well, he's using his celebrity to bring happiness to his fans. I'm sure a lot of us have seen the piece on ESPN about the little mentally handicapped girl that Pujols has befriended. He has changed her life and genuinly cares about the people that look up to him. A big cheers to Albert Pujols - RIP Chico Carrasquel
