Diamondbacks signed first-round shortstop Dansby Swanson. There never seemed to be any real worry that a deal wouldn't get done, but it wasn't officially agreed upon until right before Friday's deadline. John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM in Phoenix says Swanson will receive $6.5 million, which is significantly under the recommended slot value for the No. 1 overall pick of $8.6169 million.
