this was the one we needed with Burnett pitching.

all of that crap started with 2 outs. If you don't throw a wild pitch, they don't score. Downs and Ryan have both been awesome this year, of course they both have to play poorly when it's against the Twins.

and with that, an infield hit to take the lead. 4-3.

wild pitch, runners move up. 3-2 now.

this ump is pretty inconsistant with his strike zone, just called a strike, then called a ball on a closer pitch.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:37 PM) I bet they wont either, but maybe thats b/c the first hitter is the #2 hitter haha yeah I see that, but I'm still right, haha.

I bet the Twins 3,4,5 don't go down in order.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:28 PM) Yeah lets walk Jason Pridie, he of 0 career major league at bats. They've had so many Jason's the past couple of years. Kubal, Tyner, Bartlett, Pridie, maybe more.

Downs gets out of it.

Punto with a single. Had the Jays gotten a lead I'd say just have Ryan pitch the last 2 innings.

can't cash in, dang. that at bat could've been make or break for the Twins mental wise.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:14 PM) Their outfield defense is special, especially with Span out there. On the other hand, their infield defense is nothing special. Mauer does a phenomenal job behind the plate. It's probably the fastest outfield in the league, they cover so much ground.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) Watching this Twin team closely over the past few weeks I've been thoroughly unimpressed by their team defense and bullpen. 2 things that organization is known for. Both the bullpen and defense are way better at home. But defense wise it shouldn't matter as much in Toronto because there's artificial turf there as well. Overall the bullpen doesn't impress me either. Nathan obviously is their strength and Reyes isn't too bad, but relying and Bonser, Guardado, and others seem pretty shaky at times.

if that ball would've stayed in play the Jays would be up.

ANOTHER ERROR
-
Twins Watch Thread 2008
ERROR ON PUNTO. someone always says "I have more talent in my nutsuck than Nick Punto does," well maybe it's true.

Twins Watch Thread 2008
It'd be nice it Scott Rolen could get a clutch hit right now with 2 outs.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) I thought so too. But the dreaded walks (2 of them) bit them in the ass. Plus...they really didn't have their CF positioned very well against Mauer IMO. Nope, Mauer is a slice king, most of his power and hits goes to left center.

Introducing the "new" Oklahoma City NBA franchise
Is this an NBDL team? Seriously, what a dumb name. Tornadoes would've sounded better and that sucks too. Why not do some sort of Cowboy thing, I know Texas has taken most of those names but I'm sure there's something out there.

The damage was done, dangit. Bounce back Toronto, we need you.
-
Twins Watch Thread 2008
I won't say anything bad about Kubel because when I do, he does something good.
-
Twins Watch Thread 2008
Find the strike zone Downs. Granted I thought 2 balls called to Mauer were strikes.
-
Twins Watch Thread 2008
that'll score 3 runs. 3-2 Twins
-
Twins Watch Thread 2008
The first pitch might have been a ball, but that last pitch looked like a strike to me. Both were close. 3-0 though. Now 3-1, same spot as the 2-0 pitch.
-
Twins Watch Thread 2008
Both scare me. 2-0 count now. Come on Scott Downs.
