Liriano out, Nathan in, come on and let's get some runs Royals!
-
2 outs this inning, but the Twins always wait until 2 outs to get a run in. Got out of it.

German somehow did not catch a fly ball from Mauer. It bounced off his glove.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 11, 2008 -> 01:50 PM) But "OKC" looks cooler. lol yeah, I like the Oklahoma Outlaws too, haha I don't know why I'm making up names for them, doesn't even matter anymore. -
Introducing the "new" Oklahoma City NBA franchise

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 8, 2008 -> 09:55 AM) Oklahoma State University's mascot is the Cowboys. Texas Tech, which is close, is the Red Raiders, which is kinda a cowboy, at least the mascot is. I think they had a great chance to come up with something really cool and this is what they came up with? Meh. I forgot about OSU being the Cowboys, but I didn't want them to pick the Cowboys anyways. I don't like it when sports teams have the same name, like the Giants and Cardinals are both in baseball and football. I was hoping they'd pick something like the Marshalls or along those lines, but that name wasn't even mentioned. Instead they pick the Thunder, which sounds almost as bad as Iowa's new hockey team, the Iowa Chops. At least OKC continued with the lack of plurality such as the Jazz, Magic, and Heat. And in my opinion they should drop the "City" and just be the Oklahoma Thunder. -
Royals prove me wrong, strike out Kubal, and get a 1-5-3 Double Play.

2 on no outs for Minnesota, runs galore, here we come.

I copied his sliding catch in high school because of he did it all the time.

Lance Armstrong to race TDF in 09
WilliamTell replied to Balta1701's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm not a big fan of Lance, but like I said earlier if he wants to come back go for it. I know there's the drug enhancement cloud that hovers over him but until he actually tests positve for something, I don't have a problem with him coming back at all. I would make a comparison about it being hypocritical that many here were probably happy that Micheal Jordan came back..........twice......... but he didn't have a performance enhancement cloud hanging over him, at least to my knowledge. I'll probably end up somewhat rooting for him, depending on how he acts up until it, but I'd also like to see if he makes any excuses like he did a few years back on one of the race legs. -
I won't get on Ozzie too much, getting only 2 hits is pathetic.

That's cool to see him come back. I'm sure all the biking die hards will love this. Even though I'm a die hard I probably won't watch it that much. I'm kind of tire of seeing athletes come out of retirement, but that's their choice whether it's for their egos or because they miss it or whatever else. -
9/9: White Sox vs Blue Jays, DH G1: 1:05, CSN

2 hits? That's all we have? We don't deserve to win if we only have 2 hits. Can we please get 2 runs? -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 02:02 PM) Its gonna be very intersting to see where he goes, for all the talk about him wanting to play in Cali and in the NL...its hard to say no when teams are throwing huge amounts of money to you.. With that criteria, it sounds like the Dodgers would be the leading candidate if interested. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) just saw the highlight of torii hunter shoving pudge from behind. what a f***ing tool I would have had mixed feelings about him coming to Chicago. The plus would be good defense and laughing at Twins fans, the bad part is he's a tool and would've cost a lot of money. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) Konerko & Thome are both 8-20 vs. Halladay, which gives me a little hope for tomorrows game... I hate to sound negative, because I like to be positive, but I hold little hope against Halladay with the way he's pitching lately. I think there's a chance we can win, but if there's one game we'd lose out of the series (could be more), it'd be tomorrow's. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) So, can this offense get to double digits in this 4 game series? We didn't come close at Toronto. I wonder if the Blue Jays would win the AL Central if they were in the division. Considering they play in a very tough division now, and they way they've handed us and Minnesota, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd win the Central. -

sucked it was a 1,2,3 inning, but at least they got Burnett to pitch 18. -
Red Sox and Angels are close. Rays, Twins, and White Sox are behind a bit. Blue Jays are hot right now so they deserve to be mentioned afterwords.

I know some fans are probably happy my Chiefs knocked Brady out. I hate to see that happen to anyone though. A lot of people don't like Brady, but it's always fun watching him play. -
at least I don't have to watch his celebrations since it's blacked out.

not looking good for Swisher.

QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 7, 2008 -> 11:55 AM) Jesus, you scared the s*** out of me for a second before I read the "imagine that lineup" part. lol whoops
