Gardenhire was a rookie manager 2 years ago. This is his 3rd year. And that was also the Twins best team but everything else is true.

I know "realistically" this team isn't closer to the wild card because there are a few teams between. The division has nobody between us and the leaders. The bottom line is that the Sox just need to play better ball and the chance for either wild card or divisional wins will appear.

I don't know, I just say since this team is closer to the wild card, they need to go for that first until if/when the division becomes closer.

I still think there's a chance at the wild card depending if we take care of business against Boston when we play them. Hopefully the AL West teams can basically knock each other out of contention.

Anything that gets rid of Koch is a good trade.

I don't think we'll get into first until September if we go get back into first. Sadly, that 7 game skid might be the end of our chace for the division. Everyone just has to remember we're only 3 or so games out of the wild card, and as much as we're going for the division, the wild card is up for grabs. In a weird, twisted way, the Twins helped us yesterday, wild card wise.

Aparently people are just going by last year. He has a decent record this year but his pitching is incredably worse.

Hmmmm as much as I don't like the Twins, I do think they'll keep on pace for that many wins even with the hard schedule. I'd guess they'd win about 89 games. That's just my guess though. So the Sox would have to go 36-24, which doesn't seem as bad.

Yeah it's hard stopping Minnesota when they're on a roll. As we just saw, they'll take a series from a better team like the Red Sox are.

The Braves have won about 2/3 of their games with Cox coaching them in July. It can be done with this team though, let's go Sox.

It wouldn't surprise me if his ERA drops a run being a Yankee. Something tells me he'll be a resurgance for the remander of the year.

It must have taken a 20 win season to interest Torre. I'm sure Loaiza will do fine there. Even though it sayd the Yanks were interest for a few years. I don't know, I guess they got him now though.

Obviously there weren't any 10 run games during the losing streak. I'm just saying I miss the 10 runs we used to score in a game.

Another thing is the Twins always no matter what capitalize on errors by the other team. They always get the error right when they need it and then you can forgot about a win if you're facing the Twins.

Oh I know it's expected alright. Last year they were the masters of the one run game, it looks like they're doing it again this year.

Yeah, and as we all know the Twins, something is going to happen that's good for them. At the worst it'll probably go into the 9th with a 3-3 tie. Then it'll be a Twins win because that's just the way their team is. There is no explaining how they win in late games. Anyways, a double steal now has runners at 2nd and 3rd, no outs.

The Twins have 2 runners on and no outs I believe. Embree is coming into pitch the rest of the 8th.

Before Jose C goes out there and gets the Sox another win, the Sox get the day off for a game, but I hope Ozzie does something whether it's a practice or team meeting or whatever. This team hasn't been very dominant over the past couple of weeks.

If the Red Sox win, only being 4 games back after going 1-7 in the last 8 games isn't all that bad.

I think the change of scenery is what Davis needed. He got to basically start over here and had no pressure to produce.
