  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:26 PM) I think the team is pressing The pucker factor is something that has been a whitesox cornerstone for a while.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) I think he's had a solid year for him, but after the first few months, you thought he was headed for a huge season. He went from "can he hit .400" to probably hitting below .300. He hit .231 with a sub 700 Ops in August. Yet we keep trotting him out there in the 4 hole. Wise gets bumped to the 3 hole because our manager is incapable of creativity. Dunn hit 3, his replacement must hit 3.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 09:04 PM) Why shut Sale down? I don't see anything physically holding him back. We have games to win and he's going to help us win them So you didn't want to get rid of Zach because of some sort of "feeling". The tigers have been putting it to the Sox head to head and you think that the Tigers are not better. And now a guy who is throwing 89-90 that was throwing 94-95 two weeks ago is not showing any physical limitations. I think we might have found Guillens long lost magic 8 ball.
  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:58 PM) I'm not convinced that they're better. So the constant wins head to head for the Tigers makes you think that the Tigers are worse.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:52 PM) Rios has been finding the barrel, just not quite hitting it to the right spots. He'd have at least 1 HR if this series had been played in Chicago. Well it's not. So launching them into the air constant in this park is a formula for outs.
  6. I hope they bump Kenny up to president and give someone else a chance to build a competent offense. Since the first half of 06 it's been slim pickings.
  7. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Surely you aren't referring to me? Tito Francona.
  8. It's 1-0 Tito. Let's stop with the over dramatics on the home run to tie it.
  9. If a lefty sees a fastball sale and flowers should do laps after the game.
  10. So why the f*** are they not bunting to miggy. This is criminal.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 08:24 PM) I think SSI is saying that Hawk's complaining about the umpires has caused the umpires to turn on the White Sox. Ding ding.
  12. Can someone shoot a note in crayon to Hawk to keep his big yap shut on the officials. It's not helping.
  13. Sliders to Young. Do not use the Billy Butler scouting report.
  14. "do you know what amazes me Kruk. It's not the fact that Verlander has 99 on the black and breaking pitches that buckle you. It's that his eyes are so dreamy" Kruk "well his milky perfect white skin and brilliant white teeth dazzle you as well"
  15. Well looks like the neighborhood play has a neighborhood strikezone.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 07:48 PM) That's our #3 hitter...awful at bat So we can't move Rios up for how many months while the two guys in front of him have struggled. Yet we shift the lineup because Wise had a couple of good games. Whomever is operating the Xbox that makes these lineups needs to stop.
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 07:47 PM) This rivals the Tirico/Gruden announcing for Favre I am amazed that they can talk with them balls deep.
  18. The neighborhood play, aka let's joke and laugh as the umps messed one up. Now if it was the tigers there would be an investigation.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 07:34 PM) "But look at this swing" He flew out to CF. Shut up. A majestic swing.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 02:48 AM) I think I'm still pissed we let Buehrle go. Who do the Sox need right now??? Mark Buehrle, that's who. He's a legit big-game pitcher. He's just what this staff needed. Cheapskate ownership. Greg they need the hitters to stand up and score runs. So unless Mark is going to hit as well it doesn't matter.
  21. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 12:15 AM) Thing is, the Sox are generally the one playing the better baseball. The Twins had less talent but could play 9 innings without beating themselves; we couldn't go 6 without screwing something up. The much maligned infield choppers were only a factor vs. the Twins because they could keep the game close enough for those things to matter. The Sox don't gift as many victories as the Tigers do. We can have faith that our team will play better ball than they will for the remaining number of games this season because, so far, they've shown that to be the case. We have to eventually beat them head to head. We are not taking advantage of their defensive issues. How man bunts have been sent Cabrera's way? As bad as their defense is they can catch the fly balls lofted into the air on the first or second pitch by our hitters.
