Not Van Benschoten.
Lance Broadway called up.

Well look at the bright side, this will keep the fans alert for incoming objects from the long majestic home runs he will give up.
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 11:12 PM)
Broadway, Jimenez, Link, Marquez or Russell. Or, Jayson Nix.
Its going to be a pitcher. They swap out like players for the most part. Pitcher for Pitcher, fielder for fielder.
The O has their work cut out for them for the next 5 games.
Tomorrow a guy we haven't faced.
Roy on Sunday
Another guy we never faced
King Felix
Bedard
Scott Rolen comes to the plate, and promptly jumps on a fastball. He can't hit the curveball, keep pumping fastballs in.
Then Anderson boots it, then a ball to the screen and Rolen is on 3rd. I guess should give up.
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 08:06 PM)
That's just freaking terrible. Fields and Thome surrounding Quentin is just way too many strikeouts waiting to happen.
This team strikes out way too much with men on. Put the bat on the ball for the love of god.
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 07:59 PM)
Big difference tonight is Toronto is putting every bad pitch in play, while we can't square it up.
Our best swings have been with guys not trying to do too much.
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 07:57 PM)
you're right, he's wiffing too much to be batting 2nd.
Now they are attacking him with fastballs in. He has to prove he can adjust and generate bat speed through the hitting zone.
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 07:51 PM)
Watching Javy pitch now, of course his fastball is 2-3 mph quicker this year. I hate that guy, even though I'd do anything to have him back as our #4 or 5 starter.
I don't miss Javy. Flowers is going be a good hitter for the sox for a long time.
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 07:49 PM)
I'm sure people who aren't watching and/or aren't in the game thread will come in and say that you're complaining just to complain. However, I got your back. This is really the most mind-boggling pitch calling I've ever seen.
Floyd has a real tight curveball, and Rolen has no clue on it at all. The swings he has had at it are amazingly bad. You keep throwing that breaking pitch up there, and he is going to keep waving at it.
Why do we position our 3rd baseman so far off the line. The defensive positioning of our team is almost against the way we pitch guys. Throw inside, play off the line.
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 24, 2009 -> 07:38 PM)
Lefty with good changeup should murder our hitters.
A lefty with good stuff should murder our hitters. This guy is tossing up a bag of crap tonight.
