  1. I wonder how long of a leash that MacDougal has left. I wouldnt be surprised if he isnt optioned after tonight. Great stuff, just cannot throw strikes at all.
  2. Then Dewayne gets picked off. Christ.
  3. And Dewayne Wise gets to face a Loogy. Awesome.
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) You arent. People are just frustrated that we are losing. He pitched pretty well for his first real start since completely tearing his achilles then getting back on the field 3 months early in 30 degree weather. He got his feel back gradually, and without his best out pitch. His performance was fine. If you think about it, he is still a bit behind. His command should come over the next few starts, and then you can evaulate what you have. He is our 4th starter, and not the top of the rotation guy that we used to have in him. People need to adjust their expectations.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) It's weird how little Contreras is throwing his forkball. That's the pitch he's made all of his money due to. Probably should pull him now and let him go out with a decent frame of mind. To throw a good forkball you need to get over the top on it, and drive down to get that tumble action. With the amount he is dropping down, I don't know if he could keep it down.
  6. When Contreras was real good for us, he was primarily over the top, and he used the side arm pitch on 2 strikes on right handed pitchers. Then he got hurt, and he has been a drop down pitcher ever since.
  7. The Bermuda triangle of triples. The area between Dye and Wise.
  8. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:30 PM) this is only the 4th game of the year but I don't think Quentin or Ramirez will have the years they did last year. Its adjustments to the adjustments that will make or break a young players sophomore year.
  9. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:26 PM) I love Getz.. I really do, I've liked what I've seen of him since he came to the big club, but I'm really not sure where he's going to play. Lexi is at short, Fields is at third, and Beckham is quickly moving through the system. One of these guys is going to be bigtime trade bait, or they're going to have to pull the trigger on Lexi to CF, which doesn't seem to be an option, and from what we've seen of Lexi in CF, I can understand why. One of these guys is not going to be trade bait. You move Lexi to CF. He will be fine out in CF.
  10. Getz is looking good. Nice bat control there.
  11. Beckham just had an RBI single to right field. He is 2 for 3. Barons up 3-2
  12. Beckham with a RBI single to right field. 2 for 3 tonight. Super Prospect update.
  13. Nice job by Konerko, if its high, let it fly.
  14. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 10, 2009 -> 08:05 PM) man...dye is really heavy footed He needs to make that move to DH next year. The arm is fine, glove is pretty good, his feet and his speed betray him.
  15. Attention Jose Contreras, sliders away, pitches away, slow things away do wonders against Joe. Thank you.
  16. Beckham is 1 for 2 tonight. They will need the offense tonight in Birmingham as McCullough is pitching.
  17. Fields is one of our better breaking ball hitters. Hopefully that helps him here.
  18. How long has Joe Crede been a member of the whitesox, and we decide to groove him a fastball. Now sliders away, no breaking pitches, not even a forkball, a fastball. Unbelievable.
  19. Sweet lord what a debut. 4 for 6 with the game winner. 3 runs scored, 1 RBI.
  20. The lookouts have had balk issues all night long. Gartrell walks, then balks into 2nd.
  21. Thats a pretty tough break. Flowers walks, makes 3rd on a failed pickoff. Then Allen Ks, Flowers gets thrown out on the FC at home. Viciedo then Ks for the third time tonight.
  22. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) I swear he is like the minor league version of Crede for late game heroics. It was with 2 strikes as well. Thats pretty clutch.
  23. CJ just hit a solo jack to tie the game with 2 outs
  24. Beckham 3 for 4 tonight. Nice debut at AA.
  25. Shelby walked Beckham Kd looking on a curve Flowers reached on an error on the SS Shelby and Flowers advanced on a balk Allen Kd looking Cook flied to right 3 outs, no hits
