I love these long swings. Everyone is trying to hit a homer. -

Softball team, here is the pattern. If you are a small guy, they throw first pitch fastballs. If you are a big guy its a first pitch breaking pitch. Once they get that strike, they move away from your pull side. -

QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) what s their record on the road? If they lead the league in hitting on the road, how exactly would their record have anything to do with their offense. Maybe their pitching gives up more runs on the road. How about this, check out their home and way splits and then do ours. We look like the Texas Rangers away from their home when we go on the home. Maybe we have someone with lights in centerfield. -

For all you people that think that the Twins will become bad when they leave the dome in a few years. It may change the punto's of the world, but their bread and butter is going the other way. That works everywhere. Hence why they lead the AL in runs scored away from home. -
QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) I literally gave up on this team during the Tampa series. 2 1/2 back with a week to go just seemed impossible, especially the way the bullpen give up bushels of runs The whitesox and their homer only offense can invent new and amazing ways to bring the suck back.

QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 08:05 AM) When will our hitters start sitting on the slider instead of the fastball? Oh, never. God forbid you adjust to what the league is doing to you The phrase i keep coming back to when thinking about these hitters is "Stupid Robots" Programmed for one thing, but cannot recalculate and adjust when the situation changes Farmer was harping on these guys last night about how Blackburn hung about a billion sliders and other random breaking pitches, but because our hitters are 100% locked dead-red on a fastball, Blackburn sawed through our lineup without breaking a sweat Until these hitters smarten up, and use their f***ing brains for once, it'll be more of the same tonight SOX PLAYERS, IF YOU'RE READING (lol) THIS: THE TWINS WILL NOT GIVE YOU HITTABLE FASTBALLS. DO YOU THINK THEY'RE RETARDED? THEY WILL NIBBLE WITH FASTBALLS OFF THE PLATE, AND ATTACK YOU WITH SLIDERS, CHANGEUPS, CURVEBALLS, AND OTHER ASSORTMENTS OF BREAKING/OFFSPEED PITCHES. MAKE ADJUSTMENTS OR DIE TRYING. The worse thing is, with the humungous swing that they are taking to park said fastball they wind up fouling it off or missing it completely. So whats the point. You get that one 88 mph fastball down the middle and your back shoulder dipping, pull swing cant square it up. If this team thought for a night, up the middle and away. They would accomplish 2 things. One is they would start to get the chain moving. Two is that the pitchers would be forced to come in to reclaim the outer half, and then their pull monkey destroy plan could actually work. -
QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) Our lineup is something like 1- token speed guy swinging for the fences 2- guy who occasionally makes contact outs 3- power hitter swinging for the fences 4- power hitter swinging for the fences 5- power hitter swinging for the fences 6- power hitter swinging for the fences 7- non-power hitter swinging for the fences 8- non-power hitter swinging for the fences 9- non-power hitter swinging for the fences But they are not taught to swing for the fences. It must be just some sort of luck.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 08:26 PM) The Cell will be so ugly. Our fans will boo the troops mercilessly after getting swept here. It will really be sad and ugly. If they get swept here, dont plan on a packed house. They will go silently. -

Our offense laying an egg in April and May because its cold and how they are pressing and not loosey goosey. Now its September, and they are back to pressing. And they are cold again. The offense is to blame this year more than anything. If we had a mediocre offense, that was less homer reliant. We clinch last week. -

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) If Hawk had Gomez, Kubel, Gardenhire, and Yaz in a room together, all naked, who would he go for first? He would of nutted himself before his mind could grasp nirvana. -

Can we fire Hawk. Kubel is just like Carlos Quentin. Sure Hawk. Put them both out there, and give everyone a chance to pick one. The only boobs who picks Kubel is you and Kubel's mom. -

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) Terrible AB from Dye. I'm just going to pust this now, even before one pitch is thrown in the AB. This is where Joe Mays perfected his attack on the corpseball kids. Do you think that they didnt pay attention. They know how to attack our hitters. -

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:03 PM) He's left 5 of the 6 runners left on base. 1 hit by him would have changed the games perspective. The sarcasm was dripping there. I am a firm believer in the single with men on counts just as much and is very productive over the guy swinging out his ass. -

I would figure at the professional level they could have someone throw curveballs to our guys. Hell batting machines now can throw breaking pitches. We act so f***ing shocked when the pitch moves. -

QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) 8 outs left......... Wise hasn't had a good game either besides the walk, just one hit would've been clutch. Hits dont score runs, the only guaranteed run scorer is a homer. So swing from your heels, and dont get cheated. -
