QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Mar 28, 2008 -> 08:13 PM) Think finally hitting to the opposite field, and taking the first pitch most of the time. Think he does this every spring training. Then check what happens in the regular season. In late 05, Hrniak used a leg kick. He used it and rode a few good weeks towards the end of the year. Then in 06, he used a spread stance by Greg that Pablo used. He hits .313 and shows all sorts of patience hitting the ball the other way. Then the minute the season started, he spun himself into the ground. In 07, Project 2007 Uribe is used to help motivate him. He hits .285 and looks good. Then the seaon starts and poof he goes back to what he is. But sure, he is a new hitter. The evidence that you see that is called his major league career has just been wiped out by 60 ABs in the ST. -

QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Mar 28, 2008 -> 08:07 PM) Keeping Uribe could be the best deal we never made. Just ignore the years of him hitting well in the spring, and then going into tazmanian devil spin mode the minute the bell rings. Its all just an illusion. Think .220 to .240 with good power and a sub 300 OBP. -

QUOTE(flavum @ Mar 28, 2008 -> 07:13 PM) Danks sucks. And so does the third baseman that can't catch a ball hit to him. But thanks for your input. -
All they did was to inject some html code into the main page, it acts similar to an XSS attack where you click on the main page and it sends you to another page. Here is the offending code in the index.html. I am going to IM Kap and Jas and ask them for permission to run a base security audit for the site over the weekend. At least this way we can see any basic security issues that can be exposed by hackers. Here is the injected code.

Obama calling for raising the Cap Gains tax

QUOTE(lostfan @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) If there are people who are hurting right now because they flip houses for a living I can't say I have any sympathy for them right now. Sucks to be them. They weren't complaining when it was going great for them the last few years, when they actually were part of the inevitable problem they were causing. You realize that there are some contractors that flip houses ( buy property for an investment and either rehab or knockdown and rebuild) for a living. Its not just Mr and Mrs Rich with a hobby. Contractors have to start somewhere, and not all of them have the capital to build complete subdivisions when they start out. The invevitable problem was that people that shouldn't of qualified for loans were getting them. That has nothing to do with respectable businesses that rehab houses. -

Doesn't capital gains hit those who invest in real estate. Nothing like helping out the crippled real estate market. -

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 05:03 PM) Yikes. I'm fairly sure there are members of this board that could do better than that. North Park, Concordia, Trinity Christian. These were probably the worst baseball teams I had ever faced in my career in college. I faced North Park once, struck out 14 of the 16 batters I faced. It was one of the 3 teams we put a 20 spot up on. The other 2 are listed. -

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 04:42 PM) Ouch, babe. Oh this is even better. Oney, was a crappy player in college also. He played for North Park which isnt that good. He hit .227 in 2006, with a .293 OBP, and he slugged (LOL) .253. WOW. He had 26 Errors with a .882 fielding percentage. I think Carrie is better -

QUOTE(PlunketChris @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 04:33 PM) is he in the system or is this really just for fun? He was drafted for about the same reason as Carrie Schueler. -

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 27, 2008 -> 04:31 PM) Oney Guillen! I would rather have Carrie Schueler up at bat. They are both about as qualified to be drafted. -
Threw up on a girl while having drunken sex. The best part, is that the vomit didnt stop the action. We woke up the next day with the room smelling like puke. I had the smarts to get up, and get the hell out of there. Never saw her again.

FBI posts fake hyperlinks to snare child porn suspects
southsideirish71 replied to BigSqwert's topic in The Filibuster
:unsure:Good for the FBI. These fake links will be on websites that will have the appearance of fake child porn. You will have some intent when you hit the site. I have a honeynet ( Decoy network ) at my place with fake intellectual property. Hell I even advertised it to the corporation as where our patents sit. Sure enough we caught 4 employees trying to steal that information and send it outside. We used it to target an indentify our risks internally. Hell my network also has a sinkhole router which sees people trying to scan openly. Its meant to catch bots and malware, but we have caught employees with hacker tools. Bad guys use deception all the time, its about time for the good guys to use it to lure some crap into their trap. -
The joke that is KW and the White Sox

QUOTE(SoxWS05 @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) No it doesn't matter what the Sox do, they could get arod, pujos and johan over the off-season and people would still be b**ching about Uribe! This board is just disgusting, christ people. Ozzie and KW are starting the best players they have available at each position, Yes Crede>Fields and Uribe>Ramirez. God, I can't wait for the season to start so people have real things to talk about instead of just speculation. I feel like Sox fans are rooting for Crede, Swish, Uribe, O-cab, Danks, Count, Floyd, Dotel, Linebrink, Anderson, Dye...to fail, so you can wave your finger and said I told you so. Make sure you complain about every player just to cover all bases. Just the overweight overpaid lazy one at 2nd, and the overpaid hurt not so good with the stick one at 3rd. The rest look good to me. -
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Mar 26, 2008 -> 10:18 AM) Stealing a few bases isn't nearly as important as hitting for some power, getting on base at a higher clip, and providing stellar, All-Star caliber defense in CF. Owens might be able to take second if he gets himself on base, but Anderson's much more likely to get himself to second on a hit to the gaps or get himself all the way home. Well Owens has to steal bases, because he can barely hit anything but singles. Check the amount of XBH he has had for a "speed guy". I am waiting to see Owens hit the ball out of the infield a bit more and not have the bad groin for more than a day before I am willing to give him a chance.

CBS is such a pile of dung. The Unit, great show follow it for a couple of years. They cancel it. Now Jericho. I can't wait to see more Kid Nation and other crap that comes out of the reality TV ranks. Thank god 25k Nielsen households made up of old people are the ones who made the decision here.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 06:59 PM) Fields got hot the last 2 weeks of the season. On Sept. 14 he was hitting .229 with a .283 OBP. He could use a little seasoning in AAA. Well based on your reasoning we can have the tub of goo that is the starter at 2nd to join him in AAA. He has been regressing over the last few years, and pretty much is the player that you think Fields is. Fields however is a rookie, and not making 4 million dollars. You think the goo at 2nd is a talented guy, and Fields needs more seasoning. I remember when Uribe needed a hot September to barely nip Brian Anderson in 06 for worst batting average.

QUOTE(SoxWS05 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 05:17 PM) I'm glad to see Crede starting, it sucks that Fields was sent down after such a promising year, but at least they made the right decision and started the best player at third. We should trade Fields and try and get a good starter for him. I was waiting for the president of Crede's crew to jump in and lend some reason to the situation. Lets trade a young guy with potential under control for years, and keep the injured player with the mythical gold gloves.

QUOTE(SoxWS05 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 05:11 PM) Uhhmm...probably because he's the best third baseman on our team. I'll love how everyone just drags Crede's name through the mud a year after he hit 30HR and 90RBI's. Trade Josh Fields. LMAO@U -
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 04:34 PM) Nice to see Fields is the next legendary HOF according to this board, following former greats, Jeremy Reed, Royce Ring, and Brandon McCarthy. Honestly, it's only a year and Josh doesn't need to concentrate on his swing, he needs to concentrate on his defense which is something he doesn't need to be in the majors to learn. He could gain experience in AAA for that. I'm so sick of the whining. I am going to call you out on this nite. How many times did we get on Crede when he first came up, and talked about how he can't hit and you wanted to stay with him because of his one tool, which was defense. His ass should of been in AAA with the pathetic bat he had for the first few years of his major league existence. It can't be both ways. And let me remind you that Crede wasn't the slick fielding stud you see today. He was guy who couldnt hit, and couldnt field.
-
QUOTE(ptatc @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 04:28 PM) Fields has always known that if Crede was on the roster he was going to AAA. KW has said all along they will not be on the roster together. Crede will be show cased and traded. The same applies to Uribe. The added bonus is that the service time clock is started later and the Sox prevent his free agency by another year. The only smart decision for the team is to send him down to work on defense and cutting down his strike outs by playing everyday and call him up when Crede is traded within a month or so. I believe Josh should play every day. So for that part I have no problem with him going down. I just dont think that him hitting in AAA is going to project to him hitting in the majors. But lets not make any bones about this, Crede will be here until July at the least. Kenny wants a team to give up the most for Crede. If he wanted to just dump him it would of happened already. They are not going to let him play for a month and then spin him. The best scenario for KW is to hold on to him until the trade deadline.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 04:16 PM) Just watch. Alexei will be in CF on opening day if Owens is on the DL. You are right. Alexei is fast, and that fits the Ozzie leadoff model. Here is the best indicator. How much CF is Brian playing versus how much is Alexei playing.
-
QUOTE(iamshack @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 04:15 PM) I'm not arguing, nor have I ever, that this is the "ideal" situation for Fields. What I am arguing is that it is pure fiction and ridiculously uninformed speculation to suggest that Fields' career will be retarded by going back to Charlotte to work on some things. Do you think that facing Tim Redding, Felix Diaz and Toma Ohka are great preparations for facing Verlander or CC, or Liriano. Are their stuff comparable.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Mar 25, 2008 -> 03:37 PM) Franklin "Cy Young" Morales pitching today. Anyone that wants to beat the sox needs two things. Either a lefty pitcher, or a soft tossing righty that can throw a changeup or spot low and away.
