  1. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ May 8, 2007 -> 10:23 PM) You pitch to Justin Morneau, yet walk a guy like Punto earlier. Does anyone really think Ozzie Guillen is a genius still. The piranha scares Ozzie, the MVP doesnt.
  2. Nice pitch, lets get the MVP up so we can let him walk it off.
  3. Ryan Sweeney hoping putting Prancer to bed for the season.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ May 8, 2007 -> 08:28 PM) The Tigers offense is going to be fantastic this year. Between them and the Indians, they make us look like an NL team. Ozzie will beam with happiness with that quote.
  5. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 8, 2007 -> 04:03 PM) Well ssi71 is still MIA on threadstarting, so I'll continue to pinch hit for him! I don't wanna be done starting gamethreads until sometime after we leave Minneapolis!! Go shut em down, Javy!! MIN: RHP Boof Bonser (0-1, 4.55) vs. CWS: RHP Javier Vazquez (2-1, 4.02) I assumed because you stepped in, that you took over the mojo until we lose we should be sometime in about 2 weeks.
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 7, 2007 -> 04:15 PM) Reifert's reply to a letter from the mailbag on the Sox site: God the sox drink their own koolaid. Rudy from Texas is considered the best hitting coach in baseball. By pretty much most of the teams outside of the whitesox.
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 7, 2007 -> 04:09 PM) mental issues = groin injuries make him unable to run? mental issues = 2006 post ASB Pods on offense and defense. Mr. Sweeney needs to hit, so we can make Pods a trade candidate.
  8. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 7, 2007 -> 02:01 PM) Do you mean in a boxing match? No in a fight, without the oversized Nerf gloves.
  9. Suzyn Waldman nearly kills everyone listening to her scratchy voice. OMG, this lady makes Ron Santo, sound like one of the 4 Tenors. Her voice is enough to wake up the dead, never mind her yelling like a child when Roger shows up in the box. They played this on the Boers and Berstein show, and I had to find it.
  10. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 7, 2007 -> 09:44 AM) I wanna see a rematch dangit! Boxing is dead. And you can thank Don King and the lack of viable talent in this space. Matt Hughes and just about half of his weight class would put both of these boys down in about a minute. They have a punchers chance of catching one of them, but in reality is a slaughter. This is why UFC and MMA is so great. You get all styles. And now with Pride being bought up by UFC, you will see something that takes years in boxing. Superfights. First one is coming up with Lidell versus Jackson. Kro Kop got knocked the f*** out or he would of setup another superfight. At the end of the year they are going to have a champion versus champion UFC versus Pride. That will be worth my money on pay per view.
  11. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ May 7, 2007 -> 09:37 AM) Last night on the radio post game show, someone called in and told Chris Rongey that this team has been cursed since we release Chris Widger. I laughed at this, but then I thought about it. We were great all of 2005 and won the WS. Last year we were one of the top couple of teams in the game through the first half until we released Widge. Does anyone have any supporting facts what our record was in 2005 and early 2006 before the release of the Widge and since? The screener for the PFB show must pick morons and fools. They keep putting on some lady who associates wins with some obscure animal she saw in her backyard, or when a pigeon whispered to her the final score. Or people like Tom from Des Plaines who hits every show, who had to be reminded last year that the team was eliminated from post season when he argued that there was still a chance for the playoffs if they won like the last 5 in a row. So let me get this straight. We release a softball player, who played well one year, and we are cursed. First of all, we don't believe in curses. If you like curses, goats, bartmans and all things silly link to nsbb.com where crazytalk lives. We didn't win in 06 because our pitching was mediocre, and in the 2nd half so was our offense. Not a silly curse, not because of a backup catcher.
  12. The baseball tonight crew can barely keep themselves in their pants. Kruk and Orel are having a sword fight over how great and how rejuvenated grandpa is going to be. He is going to get rocked in the AL.
  13. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 6, 2007 -> 05:50 PM) Too bad he's not hitting 95. Comcast + WGN + Soxnet gun = Ebay 1st generation crap. I would go on what is registered at the park or by the opposition broadcast over what we see. They cant even get the sound right. How do you think they do with radar.
  14. QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 6, 2007 -> 05:40 PM) Huge win for us today. Sweeney with a nice game. Bobby still worries the s*** out of me though. Yeah because of a broken bat single, and a walk. When bobby can hit > 95 he is hard to beat with his secondary pitches. The line drive kid comes through. To me that kid plays in LF until he proves he cant. Give him a chance. Good thing he is one of Ozzies favorites. he should get lots of playing time.
  15. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 6, 2007 -> 05:31 PM) No, which is why we should think about trading him as well...he's going to be lucky to close 70-75% of his games with the stuff he's going out there with now. You want to trade the first sox reliever to get 40 saves in a while. Why again. Its not like the sox have had a large group of closers that have done well. He can survive in the middle 90s with his stuff. Its not like he is Koch with only a fastball, his curve is filthy. I wouldnt get rid of anyone on our bullpen, outside of Boone. BTW Sweeney needs to play everyday in LF. Leadoff with Erstad for all I care. Just play that kid everyday.
  16. QUOTE(Capn12 @ May 6, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) Since ssi71 is MIA, I'll take over as a pinch gamethread-starter. Lets get this series won today, and start a....dare I say, WINNING streak!! I have been at work since late last night, we had a production system go down, and the backup is not readable. So I have been trying to get data off of a system, got about 20% of it off the rest is lost forever. Nice pinch hit Capn12. Shamrock shake luck dusted off on you, and you kept it going. Sweeney had 2 doubles. My favorite prospect with my favorite type of swing comes through. And AJ hits a pool cue shot in this inning. Nice job all around. White Sox winna!!!!
  17. QUOTE(briguy27 @ May 5, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) i'd like to be happy but 1. they did commit 4 errors. lets see if we can do it tomorrow with clean baseball 2. the bulls are down 13 at half Dont fight the luck of the irish. Tomorrow we go for 2 in a row.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ May 5, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) No one else I'd rather not have up than Sweeney when you need a fly ball hit deep into the outfield. He's so overmatched right now. He is putting the bat on the ball. Which is more than I could say for Anderson when he was up. A ball put in play can find a hole, a ball swung on and missed for strike 3 is an out everytime.
  19. 3 runs without a homer. Dont f*** with the Shamrock Shake, nectar of the gods.
  20. Credepopsitup. The long looping swing is making contact with the fastball down the cock. Cintron hits one off the fence.
  21. I wonder if Fedex or UPS is sponsoring Matthews. When your HGH arrives, we will make sure that its sent overnight no matter what Singapore slum you bought it from online.
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 5, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) It's difficult to judge the plate with the sun on dirt meshing together, but it did appear a bit inside. 2 strikes, men in scoring position Dye needs to swing at that. He is a RBI guy, there is no excuse for him to finese the ball looking for a way out of the AB. Konerkos AB was nice. Erstad had a nice punch up the middle. 1 zip sox. Shamrock Shake power lives on.
  23. Greg asks 'What would Walt Hriniak do?' Probably not tell his hitters to lift and pull. Maybe he would work on technique and keeping your head down on the ball with little movement like a true Lau disciple. People say that Walker is a Lau disciple. I just dont see it. Lau sacrificed power a lot for line drives. Look at Baines swing, which was developed with Lau. Walt had a lot of nice line drive swings. Greg is Mr Lift and Pull. Here is a breakdown of hitting theories. Walkers method sounds more like Williams power over average theory, than Lau and Hrniaks weight shift. Walker Lau Disciple??? Lies, damn lies
  24. Hell it can't hurt to see if the Shamrock Shake power can help.
