QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) You know...back when we had Ordonez/Thomas, any time they'd walk Thomas to get to Ordonez, you just knew Magglio was going to crush the ball solely because he didn't like being shown up by the intentional walk. Ordonez and Thomas has nice line drive swings. Ordonez and Thomas hit the ball gap to gap. Its hard to beat that with RISP. Thome is Rob Deer, pull and lift and hope for the carry. He may dong you, but more often than not he will K or popup. -

Thome needs to think line drive and not granny here. And he of course f***ing kills the inning on the first f***ing pitch he sees trying to drive it out. Worthless rotten approach. -

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) Anyone else believe a good relay nails Anderson easily at homeplate? Cora is lucky. And how about Uribe not reading a ball that Anderson appeared to have known off the bat it was a double. Its misplays like that that help Cora believe in his dumb run them until they are out strategy. Uribe is a bad baserunner. -

QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:46 PM) Hmmm...another pitcher that relies on off-speed stuff making us look foolish....notice a trend here? Fire Greg Walker. This s*** has gone on long enough, I seriously wonder if our hitters even have a plan going up to the plate, honestly all I think they have in mind is "PULL, PULL, PULL!" We should have 7 runs up against Zito with his horrible control today. He walked how many guys and got out of it inning after inning. -

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) sandy alomar!! makes up for the 4th Hey he hit a nice gapper. Very nice. Way to make up for the last time up. Konerko and Thome see what the bottom of the order just did. Try and man the f*** up. -

3 hits into the 6th. Another Cy Young performance. It seems day in and day out we run into Cy Young. Cy Tavarez, Cy 2 last names in Boston. Its just not fair. I mean how do teams get hits against Zito, or score runs. I mean the 9+ era in his last 2 starts and the terrible home ERA must be just insane. Holy s***, the blind squirrel and his .077 finds a nut. Our 4th hit. HOLY s***!!!!! -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) If our pitching hadn't wet the bed prior to August we'd be sitting where Detroit currently is. Hell, if Mack hadn't played so often in CF I'm convinced we'd be tied with Detroit at the worst. Check out when we started losing and playing sub 500 baseball. That was right around the Boston series when we stopped scoring runs. When crappy pitchers with 8 ERAs started mowing down this team. We had a 6 game Wild Card lead at the break, and a 9 game lead on Minny. The pitching might of f***ed us for the division, but our offense s*** the bed an completely ruined the wild card. -

The reason we are not going to the playoffs this year, will not be because out pitching s*** the bed. Even though that is the popular belief. It will be because our offense died at the ASB and stop hititng and scoring runs. -

Paulie pull baseball and his .179BA against Zito getting worked over. Uribe the 2nd most worthless hitter has a .077BA against Zito, however Ozzie who needs offense from the 9 hole hitter puts him in there to get worked over. Rotten hitting. -

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) He has a shot to be. But so do a lot of guys. Liriano has a shot to be better than Johan while healthy, Contreras has a shot to be better than Johan when 100% healthy, Harden, etc. Johan has been so great not only because he's a great pitcher, but because for 3 straight years he's been constantly healthy Harden couldnt hold Johans jock. Harden can throw harder, and that is about it. If both were 100% healthy I would take Johan as my first pick overall. Now here is the part of our lineup where rallys go to die. -

We have a pitcher on the Oakland side that can barely throw strikes and we are in a 2-1 game. Because our pull monkeys cant help themselves. -

Sandy failed with RISP and less than 2 outs, and now his great D helps a run cross the plate. Meanwhile we are barely scraping by in the run scoring department. Maybe we can tell Ozzie if they win we will buy him a 6 pack. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Why don't we give Cintron a chance to provide a spark to our offense? Because Uribes .230ish BA is so much better than Andersons .230ish BA. -
