Crede is going for the dong right here. He did the typical step in the bucket, throw your bat the the low and away pitch popup to 2nd. Classic Corpseball there. -

QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 09:39 PM) but our offense played well against roy halladay, the yankee bullpen and verlander and the offensive approach improved somewhat (but seems to have reverted back now) When we face good pitching our hitters try to hit whats there. They hit line drives, they think back up the middle and oppo. They take pitches. When we face a crappy pitcher, our guys eyes light up, they dip the back shoulder and try to let it fly. -

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 09:37 PM) ...you realize that if he didn't use the pen, half the fan base would complain that he gave up during a critical series, don't you? We gave up when we put an outfield of Pods, Mackowiak and Gload out there. Balls can find the holes with that trio out there. Our manager thinks that we are playing split squad games in Tuscon still. -

So the soundbites from the team stating that they would play KC tough because they knew what was at stake was conjecture and bulls***. -

They need to seriously develop a new pitch for ol Neal. The fastball 90% of the time, and then slow pitch that doesnt break doesnt cut it. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) Funny thing is our 8 and 9 hitters have been on fire for a while now. I have no idea why they weren't playing tonight. Ozzie needs to keep his bench in game shape for the Venezuelian winter league. -

How much evidence does Ozzie need to figure out that Mackowiak is not a CF. Timo was not a 1st baseman nor was he a DH. Pablo is not a 3rd baseman. Nice game here boys. Nothing like a 9 to nothing shallacking by one of the dogs of baseball. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) We've sucked pretty bad the last couple games. But I think you're going a little overboard now. You don't lead or almost lead the league in every major offensive catergory if you're not capable of hitting with RISP or using the entire field. We have been near the top of scoring runs, homers and stuff like that before. Our offense from 2001 through 2004 was statistically a great team. Since the asb our team has been trying to hit the dong a bit too much. How many times over the last few weeks have we had a no hitter going into the 4th or 5th inning. How many times have we only had a few hits going into the 5th inning. -

Did anyone hear Joey Cora today on the radio. He was asked if you have a situation with a man on 1st and 3rd and no outs. Do you send the runner on contact or wait until the ball gets through. Cora stated you send the guy on contact. And he was asked well what if the balls is hit hard to the left side. You still go. And then when you get caught, the guy going home is supposed to get into a rundown to allow the trailers to advance. That way if they make a mistake you get a free run, and if you get caught in a rundown you get 2 men in scoring position. And to clarify it, the game the other night were Konerko was caught off third. Cora said he was supposed to break on the sharp grounder to the 3rd baseman. Now thats plain dumb. After hearing that I am convinced that Joey is Wendel Kim. You dont just break on any contact. You advance based on were the ball is hit, and if the situation dictates. You dont just bolt like a mindless video game because the ball was struck. -

And mackowiak takes a bad route, and its a double. Anderson strolls back and makes that catch. He made a few of those over the last few games the same way. Keep putting the corner OF in center ozzie. -

Well that was horrible. So let me get this straight. We get different players every year. New blood. Yet we see the same offensive attack. Carlos Lee swung for the fences in 2004 ignoring RISP and going for personal glory. Here we are in 2006 and its the same thing. Beat up on a team one night, then struggle to scratch a run across. Maybe we need to stop teaching the pull and lift method. -

QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) Leadoff man gets on and we aren't going to even advance him against a fuc king scrub ass pitcher. Great. Dip your back shoulder, extend your arms, turn and burn. Lift the ball up high in the air, and let the magic of the cell take over. The hitters guide to whitesox baseball post ASB. -

QUOTE(Harry&JimmyRocked @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) ozzie today said he's got the best bench in the al He doesnt have a bench. He has a bunch of platoon players. Cintron and Uribe/gooch are platoon one. Mackowiak and Anderson are platoon 2. -

We take 2 out of 3 against the Yanks. Fight like animals. We take 3 out of 3 against the Tigers, things looking up. Then we rock Redman, and then our offense goes into the s***ter. Because they are into pull and lift mode. -

QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) This is disgusting. Absolute rock bottom. But it's just one game. Hopefully a display this poor will enbarrass the team and we'll realize we need to play hard & smart EVERY game, not just against the top teams. I think this team needs leadership right now - from Ozzie, Paulie, Thome, AJ or anyone. Someone needs to take charge. As much as I love Thome, we need a grinder like AROW at times like these (I still like the trade, I'm just saying we need the desire he brought everyday). Actually its 2 games. We got shut down by a pitcher with an 8 ERA last night. -

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) None of these players realize that our last winning streak only contained 1HR. The key to this game is getting on base guys. But instead, we want HR, then HR, then HR, then HR. I wonder what is going on with our coaching staff. I bet they will talk up the opposing pitcher and how great he was. 3 hits through 5 complete is horrible. -

This garbage pitcher just Kd two of our hitters, and threw about 10 pitches that inning. KW needs to go down and shut the door and have a heart to heart with the team. Ozzie is too busy being their friend. And playing the reserves. -

A pitcher that has been released by the pitching starved Phillies is 3 hitting our team. We let crappy Runnynose Hernadez and his 8 ERA own us last night. Now we are getting shut down by this guy. Start your f***ing A team Ozzie. Stop with this b team s***.
