  1. I liked the AJ that used to hit to all fields, the one we had this year. Last years pull only AJ didnt do too well.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) It was a rocket, one hop single to a charging Tyner in LF. Plus he had the ball well before Gload even was turning at third. The hot dog guy could of thrown him out from the OF on that one.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 05:39 PM) 1.) Why would you EVER start Rod Mackowiak in CF over Brian Anderson? 2.) Why was a REAL 4th outfielder never acquired for this team? 3.) What the f*** happened to Freddy Garcia's arm? 1.) Because you use a magic 8 ball to make out the lineup and the fluid is cold and its stuck on rightfully so. 2.) Because KW asked Konerko and he said we can win a WS with this team. They also were the same people that brought a chubby Steve Perry to the WS rally after the parade and did bad version of a bad journey song. 3.) Partially Torn rotator cuff is my guess. Only a tech operating an MRI machine, and a doctor could get to the bottom of this mystery.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 05:35 PM) Mackowiak did homer off Radke the last time he faced him there for Mackowiak >>> Anderson. Career Vs Radke: BA: 1-2, 2B Mack: 3-8, 2B, HR Its obvious who is at fault for this. Andersons damn family. Damn right handed genes passed down. What is Ozzie going to do, if you suggest the radical idea of letting a right face a righty pitcher, thats unheard of in modern baseball. I mean how could he survive with that 88 mph fastball busting down on him. He might fall down and cry if he saw a curveball.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 04:55 PM) Yep, appearantly the platoon is back on. So we have a pitcher that doesnt do well pitching over errors, gnat farts, and other things that he cant control. So we put a butcher in CF because he happens to have been born with a left appendage. Here you go kid, 2 hits including a triple and a damn webgem. Your reward, some pine. The other guy who is a butcher in CF he will play the majority of the time Please blame your parents for the wrong gene mix to make you right handed.
  6. QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) If that's pods the throw is still getting there. If its Pods the ball was kicked into the corner, and then thrown into 2nd bouncing off the runner, and its a man on third.
  7. Oddly it seems that Jermaine can handle the 3 hole. Now lets leave him there for the rest of the year. the argument that we need the lefty righty alternate to avoid the loogy really doesnt hold water. Because of Gooch's numbers versus lefties, they bring the loogy in anyways to clean house against Pods, Gooch and Thome. Lets get some of that Dye 3 hole magic.
  8. You could bounce it in, and he would swing at it. You could hit the mascot, and Uribe would swing at it. Profundo, meh
  9. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) rain delay? Are you kidding me, I hustled my ass to the library so I could catch the first half hour before my next class. Shenanigans Not that much of a delay 40 minutes after the hour is what Farmio is saying. \
  10. If they could get him to learn a cut fastball, and a change like Buerhle's claw then he could go into the rotation without a problem. 93-95, with a few pitches makes for a nice starter.
  11. Hopefully if Thome is out, Gload DHs and Dye hits 3rd. With Ozzie so reliant on the appendage a person is born with, I bet you he bats AJ in the 3 hole. And that would be disaster for this lineup. Dye good at 3rd, AJ bad.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Jenks has thrown a ton of those hooks way up lately. I would like to see his fastball up more, and his curve down a bit more. The only time he ever gets beat on his fastball, is when he has it down
  13. Throw strikes, and Ozzie gets you a steak big boy.
  14. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) He may be tired as well. He's on a pace to play his highest total of games in his career. Unfortunately the Sox are abysmally short in the back-up C department. The AAA season can't end soon enough. Well hopefully we actually call people up that can help the big club make the playoffs instead of worrying if our AAA team will go deep in theirs.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:07 PM) Don't forget that we seem puzzled as to why our starting pitchers are fatigued. Last year El Duque was getting bombed left and right, and Bmac was coming off of 2 hit shutdowns of Boston at Fenway and Texas at Texas, and he decided that El Duque was better served in the rotation. It took our lead going to nothng with a few weeks left, and a few bombs away starts by El Duque before Guillen had to put bmac in again.
  16. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) like i said, i love having two closers on this team We have 2 closers and a lefty who throws near 100, and a future rotation guy in the pen. However our manager thinks that no matter how many runs you give up, you must pitch into the 7th. He wants his pitchers to win the game, of course some times at the expense of the team itself.
  17. QUOTE(SoxnGiants @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:03 PM) KC is on the verge of blowing a 10-1 lead. How is that possible. Their stud pitching staff held our juggernaut offense in check.
  18. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) Oh I'm sure Lance could find one of Ozzie's relatives to get hitched to. Well considering bmac had a 1.59 ERA down the stretch and was garbage according to the manager, Broadway better be better than Liriano to crack our staff.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 08:49 PM) Do you mean McCararthy? Maybe McCarthy.
  20. Cintron nearly threw it away. Cotts better not be option A out of the pen.
