QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:12 PM) Im talking overall throughout the season. Our numbers speaks for themselves. Typically the middle of the order has at least 1 300 hitter, some serious OPS, and tons of RBI's especially with our lead off guys. The fact is, this isnt happening in our lineup. Scotty should have more runs, and the middle guys should have more RBI's, OPS, and BA We rank near the 12th out of 14 AL teams in BA and OBP. Our hitters are not patient and swing at bad pitches. If they worked counts more and hit pitches in the strikezone both of these numbers would be higher overall.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) While I agree that we need some offensive help and it is showing today, I'm not blaming our poor performance today entirely on our offense. Nate Robertson ain't bad. He's actually pretty good. Gotta give him some credit. Farmio was doing a number on the sox and how not everyone is Cy Young. How our offense is struggling. Maybe its not just a few people in game threads thinking this.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:05 PM) Someone made a chart in the off-seasont hat showed we were not anymore inconsistent than other teams around the league last year. I agree, scoring runs is a bad stat. It's all about the doubles and triples!1!1! And singles.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Ok bad relief, shields sucks, brazoban sucks, since sisco is on the royals he sucks as well, spurling has an era in the 2's but he sucks, wickman has an era in the 2's but he sucks, huston street sucks, etc, I don't feel like listing anymore guys, you guys want to give up already in this game, go right ahead. Maybe our team OBP and team BA are just smoke and mirrors. We really have lots of hits and get on base a lot but the score keeper is just sleeping during these moments.

QUOTE(T R U @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) Thats kinda odd seeing how were 10th in the league in runs and 6th in the AL... it is possible no matter how you wanna look at it.. like I said its been done Oddly we were near the league lead last year in runs scored also. Scoring runs is a bad stat. You can score 10 runs one game, and then score 1 for a few nights and look like a good average.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) Gotta love these threads, everyone giving up on a team that has come back time and time again in late innings to win games. Oh yeah, they're 62 and 30 also but our team sucks, the lineup is horrendous, blah blah blah. Unreal, honestly. We come back against bad relief and not the good starter that usually 2 to 4 hits us. On Monday we came back after Cy Douglas who 3 hit us left.

Farmio just made a comment that Roberston looks like we are not going to score another run on him today. Now Ozuna f***s up. Thanks for the B team today Ozzie. We have 2, 2 count them cubans pitching against boston.

This is how Garcia pitched on that Sunday against the A's. Everytime we scored a run, sleepy would give it right back.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Rowand tried to throw out Inge at 3rd and it him in the back , and ricochet foul. Inge scored Now after that play we can get some advertising dollars out of this.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) We look like the Orioles. They look like the Oakland A's

3-1 Tigers on the bad news bears play.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) Yeah I went back and did some research. I don't know where you got your chart from, but I think this is the right one. LMAO

QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Um, konerko has eleven home runs, five doubles, and twenty five singles? Its a hitting chart of the cell.
-
Kongs hitting chart at the Cell. Its a blood bath at third.
-
3:15 for the restart.
-
QUOTE(tony72 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:41 PM) Speaking of Konerko and even Frank.. They either hit the homers but cannot seem to get the base hits when runners are on base and we need them (such as a 4 to 2 game in the eighth or ninth)..it always seems that they get the hits (homers) in 10 to 2 games, etc.. Maybe this is crazy...but why not Frank or Paulie for a .280 hitter (not a lot of home runs - but clutch)? They should move Dye up to 4th and move Kong down a notch.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) LOL, Jason Grimsleys picture on Gameday is a good one. Makes him look like Lenny from "Of Mice and Men"
-
QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) Besides the Cubs game, how many clutch hits does Pauly have? Clutch is a funny word to use with pauly. He is batting .143 with RISP and 2 outs and .230 with RISP and less than 2 outs. But with no one on he bats .263 with 13 homers.
-
QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) Hit it on the ground to the SS? GIDP starting with a hard grounder to 3rd. PAULLIE PAULLIE PAULLIE AND THERES THE PITCH, A HARD GROUNDER TO INGE AND THEY TURN IT 6-4-3 DOUBLE PLAY. THE SOX GET NO RUNS ON 1 HIT.
-
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) Its already starting to get lighter downtown, they should be taking the tarp off in 10-15 minutes unless there is more rain behind this... Paul Konerko sucks. You are coming around.
