  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) 3-1 count to Hafner... This is exactly what kills Marte. FILTHY FILTHY STUFF. But he gets behind the count. Then gets hurt. That run was huge. If it wasnt for that and the balk this would of been 1-0. Now we will have our power hitters trying to park ones onto the concourse instead of getting on.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Here comes the big test, Travis Hafner. YUCK!!!!!
  3. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) Pop out bunt attempt. 1 out. Marte coming in for Vizcaino. Marte better bend over on his fastball and not pull the short arming crap I saw him do down in Arizona and last year. I dont know what the hell happened with this guy, he has got FILTHY FILTHY stuff. But he got into some funk last year that he short arms the fastball and it sails. follow through Marte they cant hit you.
  4. Think about this. How many times last year were we in these big offensive battles with the Injuns. Now we shut down their offense and we cant score. The irony is frightening.
  5. QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) i can not believe how few people are there, what the f*** is wrong with you chicagioans? I have this thing called a job.
  6. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) I like the #2 and #3 batters there... Crede hit the crap out of that. I dont see anything different that last year with Crede's swing. It looked the same way when I was down in Arizona and it looks the same today. He pops up and does that half check swing thing making a bit of contact. Whether he hits it or not, dont ever get into that am I going to swing or not stuff that he did last year.
  7. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) still, we have had great pitches to work with today, it wasnt anything more devastating than fastballs on some corners, and we still couldnt get the ball to go anywhere. Corpseball last year was when we would have some soft tossing pitcher who would paint the corner consistantly. Our hitters would either roll their wrists over trying to pull it GIDPing all the time or reaching trying to pull it and popping it up lazily. When the sox hit well last year we hit those outside pitches to the opposite field then they had to come in and we would jump on the inside pitch. I dont think that this is anything like that. We just have to get better on keeping on top of the ball. Our fast guys need to keep the ball on a line drive or put in on the ground. Konerko trying to get lift I understand. He is a bopper, but it would be nice to get the line drive a bit more from time to time. Our offense is just not in sync right now. I would like to see Pods get on top of the ball more. Gooch will be ok. Crede needs to show that improved swing that we heard about. I was hoping that Crede would get off to a fast start. He is a guy who will get on himself more and more and dig himself into a hole. I think he is the Jon Garland of our hitting. Great stuff but the noggin needs to get screwed on straight. Crede has the tools but needs to shorten that swing up a bit.
  8. We have to get back to what we were doing in the spring. Line drives. Everyone is popping it up.
  9. We are into their pen now. Lets see if the Injun pen sucks as much as last year. We could put up a 5 spot in this inning.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Give the guy a chance. Geez. You started spouting that crap before he ever threw a pitch. Now I can say that is better than last year. Last year he would of walked the bases loaded and the runner in. That was a lot better.
  11. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Give the guy a chance. Geez. You started spouting that crap before he ever threw a pitch. Is this his first time throwing relief for the whitesox. I believe I have a bit of history with Cotts to make a judgement. Chill. Cotts is Steve Kline, only better
  12. Hafner gets confused by Cotts and the pitch right down the middle. K's
  13. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:04 PM) Mr Cotts has a very sneaky delivery and all. But he needs to look where he throws the ball. Maybe he wont get in as many deep counts. That and better changeup and he would be a lot better.
  14. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) More like Konerko Crede'd Hopefully Cotts has a better year this year. Instead of being the lefty version of Mike Jackson.
  15. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) Ughhh, Paulie pops up. Inning over. Everyone keeps dropping that back shoulder trying to get lift. Sometimes a line drive is better than going for the game winner. Its not the 9th inning.
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) 3-1 count to Paulie... And INSERT YOUR WHITESOX PLAYER HERE pops it up!!!!
  17. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) Carl's gonna get a hold of one... He got on for Kong. Lets get a nice easy line drive or go for the dong!!!!
  18. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) Come on Hot Carl! Katy?
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 01:50 PM) Gooooooooch Nice swing by the Gooch. Duck on, lets get him in.
  20. Here is question. During spring training Pods was hitting nice line drives, htting the ball the other way. Now he is going for lift. Move the freaking fences back and it wont allure the amatures from trying to jack the ball all the time. Konerko and the big boys will still be able to hit the ball out.
  21. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) How much longer does he get before the Sox cut their losses on him? The funny thing is that his agent is Boras. Boras will probably want 6 mill a year for him.
