Which AL Central lineup to you fear more?
QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 12, 2007 -> 11:22 AM) would YOU start Jones? Hell, they could start a bag of crap (Joe Borchard comes to mind for some reason) in left and still score 1000+ runs.

Kinda funny
Can ya get your hands on a bootleg copy of the Mitchell Report?

All I have to say is I hope the Tigers have a lot of injuries. Jacque Jones isn't projected in LF?

If KW does the following, I'll feel better about 2008
QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Dec 10, 2007 -> 11:09 PM) And when did Kenny say Danks and Floyd were "top of the rotation" guys? Missed that memo. Okay, saw it now, hehe.

Sheets gets a hangnail and takes a month off. And when did Kenny say Danks and Floyd were "top of the rotation" guys? Missed that memo.

Free Agent List
Kerry Wood is no longer available.

Kenny not worried about Danks & Floyd as #4 & 5
Danks and Floyd don't worry me as much as Contreras as our #3. They all worry me but we've got who some consider the worst starting pitcher in baseball last season who may or may not be 65 years old in the 3 spot.

Hideki Matsui
Yessir... there are actually useful things on MLB Trade Rumors from time to time. If we had signed Hunter or Jones, I would have liked a Matsui deal, although it'd probably be completely out of question at that point due to financial issues.

Hideki Matsui
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 9, 2007 -> 02:56 PM) Where did you read that? Right here

Hideki Matsui
Isn't Matsui an absolute butcher in the field now a days? If we had a spot open for a DH, bring him in. Outside of that, we'd need someone in center with amazing range if Matsui and Dye were on the corners. And he did agree to waive his NTC.

Pierre/Crisp/Roberts Which trade would we have to give up the least fo
I'm curious why nobody has brought up Randy Winn? Seems like he'd be a solid leadoff CF. I remember reading on MLB Trade Rumors a few weeks back that they were trying to move him before the meetings.

Kevin Mench
I just thought he'd be a nice guy to have against lefties. He's kinda s***ty against righties.
-
Alexei Ramirez
Hasn't he played poorly in the Dominican League?
-
Kevin Mench
Who knows what we're going to do with Quentin right now. He might just end up being a 4th outfielder. I haven't heard anything to indicate the job in left was his?

Time to up the ante: Sign Bonds to a 1yr deal
As long as Pedro Gomez does reports on Bonds from The Cell every five minutes on ESPN, I'm down!

Does anyone have any doubt now ?
I don't know if it's Boras blowing smoke up folks asses but there have been rumors about an elbow injury that limited him at the plate last season. Take it with a grain of salt of course but I suppose it's possible.
-
Kevin Mench
I haven't heard any rumors about the Sox talking to him or anything, but apparently the Brewers are going to non-tender him. Am I nuts or would he be a half decent option in left? .901 OPS against lefties last season.
-
OMGWTFBBQ! Half-Man, Half-Pimp Available!
I would welcome him back with open arms. And hopefully at Soxfest if they do bring him in, he'll leave piles and piles of garbage outside his room again!

Brian Roberts
Steve Phillips blog says the Orioles would receive Rich Hill and Sean Marshall from the Cubs.... um, okay.
-
Luis Gonzalez
Last resort... if we don't get anyone and I mean DeJesus, Lofton, etc., bring him in.

Sox looking at Fukudome, Bay, not Rowand
You never know... with the current state of Kenny Williams madness, he may have thrown something insane at him.
-
Sox looking at Fukudome, Bay, not Rowand
Well the Royals are tempting to any Japanese player right now because their manager has been a manager in Japan before. But Will Carroll did say that someone made a big offer and he's signing somewhere tonight.
-
One year stopgap???
If that's not our only outfield acquisition, I'm cool with it. So if we bring in Bay or Fukudome or another adequate corner outfielder to go with Lofton, sounds good to me.

Alex Rios
Danks ERA was 5.50... Lincecum was 4.00 and Cain was in the 3s. Both are quite a bit ahead of Danks imo.
-
Alex Rios
Toronto wants an MLB ready starting pitcher for Rios. Wouldn't consider Danks or Gio as that.
