    8/28 Games

    Sweeney hits a home run!
  2. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) When was the last time Carl didn't K?? damn... He had a HR last night that was the difference in the game.
  3. Not one .300 hitter in either starting lineup. Go with the under.
  4. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 01:13 PM) Yep, I guess I'd better start saving even though it's nearly 3 years away. Who knows how much gas and tickets will be by 2008. Saving 4000 I'm sure will do it. You'll have to put away about $100 a month until then. It would be a really memorable experience though.
  5. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Seriously, what the hell is he smoking? This makes no sense. Auditioning replacements for PK.
  6. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) are you saying that just for the tickets? Because I was thinking 1200-1500 for the tickets also. Then another 2000 for food, gas, and camping. Yes I think that is what the ticket cost will be. This is because you might have trouble paying just face value at some stadiums like Wrigley, Fenway, San Fran, Anaheim, NY. I thought those might go for closer to $100 but i'm not sure. Always better to plan for the worst.
  7. Quick estimate: ~$1500, mostly depending where you want to sit in each game.
  8. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) Estebomb has a road era of 4.57 this year and in the national league mind you. /thread
  9. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 11:50 PM) That ball was f***ing smoked

    Damn that's almost $3 million worth of hardware.
  11. QUOTE(brijames @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) What a relay by Gooch! It was well left.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 11:18 PM) Way to give the Mariners all the momentum in this game. We try to get way too cute sometimes. Ozzie/Smart ball!
  13. Looked like a game of runnin' bases in the backyard.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) The fewers runners to reach, the quicker he'll work. He still seemed to take forever to pitch when someone got on base. I think the key to Contreras has been his ability to get ahead in the count with his fastball. Good point. I'll have to see what happens if a runner actually reaches. I wasn't paying much attention the last time they had a baserunner.
  15. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) I notice something very different about Jose's approach on the mound tonight. He's working at a Buerhle-esque pace. Pitching, heading right back to the rubber, usually waiting on the batter instead of the batter waiting on him. I've never seen him work this fast. Maybe it translates to him thinking less. Also that he's not shaking anything off. Batters have not much time to think at all.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) That Anderson kid is awful. Send him down, he's not ready for the show! He strikes out a lot.
  17. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 10:29 PM) I bite.......What is it? Let me watch one more inning..
