What is a man's legal obligation in terms of financial support if he decied to leave his wife? It is not his biological child, but is he still legally obligated to support?

QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 09:48 AM) There was a story a few years ago about how Chcuk Zito beat the hell out of VanDamme in a NY club. It was like 3 punches and VanDamme was down and out. There is a good chance Van Damme was hammered at the time.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 09:09 AM) Aikido doesn't require the user to be in perfect physical condition. It helps, but I still would NEVER want to mess with Stevie boy. Van Damme is not quite a "pussy". He's won many, many competitions. Most of your Martial Arts stars got there by fighting in the ring. Jackie Chan is an exception, and he has always said his training was mostly in the acrobatics of the Peking Opera School he grew up in. Bruce, Jet (both Benny and Jet Li), Van Damme, Seagal, are all respected Martial Artists who were known in the Martial Arts world long before they shot one frame of film. ...didn't Van Damme also beat his wife or GF? Thus making him a world heavyweight pussy.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 07:53 PM) They did a photoshop contest along these lines and I thought it was funny enough for a thread bump so here goes. http://forums.fark.com/cgi/fark/comments.pl?IDLink=1848320 My abs are hurting now from laughing so hard. That's awesome.

Speaking of Chuck, did anyone catch him on Fox this weekend? They did a piece on the Superfans skit from SNL. They had actors 'auditioning' for the new cast. Cuba Gooding Jr., Michael J. Fox, Rob Lowe and Chuck were on saying 'Daaaaaaaaah Bearsss' over and over. Kinda funny.

The first full length album that I paid for with my own money was 'Boy' by U2 in 1980 or 81. Prior to that, I'm sure I'd bought a lot of 45 records with my parent's money.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 04:32 PM) To laugh and kid around is one thing, to kick the s*** out of a dead horse, repeatedly, over and over again, is another. What if we just do it repeatedly but not over and over? Point taken Kaps.

Segal was pretty bad ass in his early flicks. Then it just got tired and unbelievable. Especially when he put on all the weight and was still throwing people around

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) As much as Oz runs his mouth about whatever I dont think he'd be bothered by it but thats pure speculation on my part. I suppose it could be construed as offensive but by those who are hypersensitive but that just goes back to what I said earlier. If you cant laugh at yourself a little bit then you're always going to be miserable. I get told the most blatant polak jokes you could think of when Im on the job yet I dont get upset, I laugh and then tell a MORE blatant polak joke. To say that doing an accent might be childish or even stupid is one thing. To say it's racist is something else.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 03:30 PM) Why do we have to be so serious all the time anyway. Way I see it a bunch of folks need to just lighten up. Theres no reason why posters have to walk on eggshells when they want to joke around about members of the Sox. How ironic that there are two similar threads going on this today, MLK day. I think the radar is in hypersensitive mode. Not that I would, but I hope the day that I decide to get offended by something on SoxTalk, it gets the same kind of attention.

Did Wayne and Bronson mostly use weaponry, or did they fight using just their hands??

QUOTE(Soxy @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 01:23 PM) I think it's funny--hey immigrants: learn english! Then it's: Haha, look at how the immigrants speak english. It would be even funnier if I knew who said or implied both those things.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 02:01 PM) Trust me, you're fighting a losing battle. Just by looking at who's already come out against it in this thread, anyone can figure out that they will win. That's too bad, because I'm not 'battling'.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) This is something I've stayed out of for a long time, because I know that the posters who do it aren't intending to be 'racist'. "It is, however (as has been stated), ignorant and demeaning." I disagree. "Also, though, there would be a lot of Hispanics that would probably be offended if they did read through these threads not understanding what it was all about. I realize that this was a gag from the start of the season and it's just kept going, but some guests or others probably would not." This is a good point and if someone asked what it was all about, I'd tell them. To assume and label something 'racist' without understanding it and refusing to even try is unfair.

I don't think you should fear for your own safety if that's what you mean. It's not like you'll meet with him out in the yard with the general pop. If you've ever been locked up for a weekend or even just overnight, you know that jails and prisons are not supposed to be pleasant. It's amazing how many people are repeat offenders though.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 10:48 AM) Urban legend my ass. I got caught in one of those things when I was a kid. It was right after a kid in Minnesota was sucked into one of them. I got caught and it pulled my shoe right to the part where it goes under the floor, then starting tightening my shoe like mad, finally somebody hit the "stop" button and we were able to cut my shoe loose. To this day I just off the ends of those things, and I rarely wear shoes with laces of any sort. My kids get scooped up by me and we jump over the ends. Those things used to be NASTY. I'm gald you're ok and all, but sorry man, I can't stop laughing at you.

My shoelace will get stuck in an escalator. I will be dragged to the top and die from internal injuries. I think this is the urban ledgend told to young kids to get them to keep their shoelaces tied.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 04:26 AM) . You seemed to acknowledge racism in the same type of thing in a post by LCR where he was quoting from a magazine and the author was using 'satire' regarding blacks. For those that haven't read the above mentioned post, LCR was showing what a jagbag this author was. NUKE, you are a good dude, but this stuff is just wrong. "Oh. I've b****ed about it. I just haven't received much support." That should tell you that maybe you are the only person who sees anything wrong with it. I see things on this board every day that I don't like, or aren't funny to me, or don't make 'good satire', but I don't tell people what they can or can't write. Having a laugh at ficticious characters from movies makes Sox Talk look bad?? Letting a small group of people try to dictate what is right and wrong is what will make Sox Talk look bad.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 11:08 PM) Once Rex got into a rythym, I thought he was really impressive. The defense really let us down today. Even if the bears would have played more run, less pass, Carolina was killing us at the line today early. Once Rex and Berrian started going together, they were somethign to see though. It turned out to be a great game to watch, even though the result sucked really bad. Hopefully Rex can get himself through a full season next year, I am looking forward to seeing if he can show us a little more, I liked what I saw so far. I totally expected their offense to make some adjustments to our D. Our game plan for our O let us down.
-
Tony Montana, thx for playing.
-
The Bears lost because they hit the panic button very early in the game. That first touchdown by the Panthers put us in total panic mode and we never came out of it. You don't ask a QB with no playoff experience, who hasn't played in two weeks to come out slinging with 20+ yard passes on our first posession. You establish the run and little by little start building the QBs confidence with 5, then 10, then 15 yard passes.

Oh f***, the muscial guest is Death Cab for Cutie. I fail to see the fascination with this band. This show is a cluster f***.
