WOW, what a change in the weather from this morning.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) This was on the news last night. I think he settled for 750,000. That video is everywhere now. Is that worth it to you?
-
What happened to this guy is f***ed up, no doubt, but c'mon, you gotta put up a fight. The attacker pretty much punked him otta his shoes and clothes and b**** slapped him around the cell. The third guy in the cell just stood around and watched.
-
Sorry I don't know how to post just the video portion of this link.... but if you look under 'Headline News', then click on the 'Settlement for man beaten in Maywood jail' video. Thoughts?? http://abclocal.go.com/wls/#

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) Is secretly in love with the second guy from the left. I actually looked more like the second guy from the right. But since all the women went for Brent (second from the left), thanks for the compliment. ^ looked like the keyboardist from Duran Duran....one of the Taylor girls, er brothers.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 12:16 PM) Most of it occured on another message board. Ncorgbl claimed, among other things, to be a Sox shareholder, would personally talk to Reinsdorf, Thomas, etc. Would back his claims by claiming insider information. Sadly, some people were gullible enough to believe it. When his insults and trolling behavior became to much, he was outted. Someone posted his personal information. Where he lived (possibly not the exact address), his occupation, etc. Of course, everything he claimed on-line was a lie. If you put it all on a scale, what he received was probably worse than he dealt, but some would disagree with me on that. I rarely visit that other site, perhaps someone who posts both places may have a better memory. Lost in this was Ncorgbl, at times, could be witty, and had a decent mind for the game. But instead of backing his opinion as John Q. Public, he pretended to be someone else. WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT BULLSHTTING CHAMPION OF ALL TIME. The guy was clinical. When you consider how much time and effort he invested into fabricating this entirely fake person, it was psychotic.

QUOTE(Wanne @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) It's 2am now...changed it last year....and YES...Tucson is extremely boring. Whoa, 2 am closing time, look out.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 11:39 AM) I think the one person even had connections with some legal folk or something (cops?) and was able to get some stuff, and that was what really shocked most people. NCor deserved to be outted, but not to the degree he was. He deserved it all. f***in nut job.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 03:19 AM) If people are clamoring for Brokeback Mountain as a Best Picture lock in the Oscars, it must really be one HELL of a movie to defeat Munich. Best movie I've seen this year--probably in the last two or three. I would be shocked if Munich didn't win atleast two of the following four: original score, director, actor, best film. This is a personal bias, but I have a hard time giving too much praise to films that are based on actual events. If you have a great, true story to begin with, it's pretty hard to make a bad film out of it. Hotel Rwanada is a recent example that comes to mind. Great story, but nothing about the film making itself really blew me away. On the other hand, it is much tougher to first come up with a good story for a film and then follow it up with a good production. It's difficult to compare films like Munich and BBM head to head since they set out to do different things.

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 13, 2006 -> 10:51 AM) You know, every time I try to agree with a statement like the above (which is right, btw), I just keep thinking... "He may be a douche, but he's schtupping Jennifer Garner in a huge house and working maybe 100-150 days of the year while I'm sitting in this office reading about it and stewing. Yep, laughing all the way to the bank, he is." Amen to that.

I found Tucson to be extremely boring. Finding very good seats for the games should be easy since you're flying solo. Get out to the bars EARLY, they still have a 1:00 am close time I think. That was a GREAT tip from someone about finding out the U of A spring break schedule. It's the only chance you have at finding anyone or anything even kinda fun to do. Another way to kill the boredom between games is to make the 1 hour drive south into Nogales, Mexico.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 12, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) I never really understood the first ballot vs. 13th ballot thing. The stats aren't improving, so why is it that all of a sudden he's HoF worthy? EXACTLY. Is there a maximum number of players that can be inducted per year? -
QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) it was........exactly what i expected out of a musical. I'm glad that's over. LOL, good man.

I've read on this board that Hermy has herniated discs in his back. Everything I've read or heard from the team about his injury seems kinda vague. Does anyone have a link which states something more specific than 'back issues' or 'back trouble'? I'm sure I've just missed it.
-
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) Crede and Hermanson don't have hernias. They have bulging or herniated discs, which while using a similar term, are not the same thing. Back surgeries are really iffy, and high risk. I doubt either of them wanted to mess with it. Yep, take it from a guy with a herniated disc in his back. If you can live and deal with the pain, you will. Surgery is no guarantee.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) Although I haven't been posting as of late, I live a block off Addison on the Northwest side of Chicago; born and raised deep within the heart of Cub country, my allegiance has never wavered. I dig it. How far west, just wondering?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 10:55 AM) Long story short... yes. Wow, then he should be locked up somewhere. That dude had a whole other make believe frickin' personality goin' there.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) In the US? Pompous asses use it, of which NCor always came across. Though he did drop me a line to tell me he loved my screen name. I believe it is more common in the UK as a normal word. The Plodding one could answer that. Whatever happened to that guy? Was he really exposed as a phony?

Remember how everyone was jocking him when he landed Nomar? Now it seems like most Cub fans want him gone. Oh how fickle fans can be. :headshake -
QUOTE(TLAK @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 07:33 AM) This is from the scouts dinner in December. Still huge.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) Just got back from Munich. Great movie, but f***, basically 3 hours. ...but it feels like 2 hours. Kong on the other hand, is 3 hours and feels like 4.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 03:18 AM) Yes, yes she is. Been in a LOT of films over the past couple of years as well. Isn't she dating Josh Harnett right now? Uuuh, Damn she is sexy.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jan 11, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) I've thought this since the first time I saw the name. That kind of stuff drives me crazy. Sadly, in my poor spanish, I had his name transated to mean "The White Media." Seriously. Anyway. I am a lover of all things Brady. Middle Buffalo was one of the names the Indian chief proposed for Peter in the Grand Canyon episode. I always thought you were from like the middle of Buffalo.
