  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:23 PM) The entire baseball world was on the Viciedo train. And what's sad is that he would still be at Charlotte had CQ not gotten hurt. Even with a September call-up, his playing time would be sporadic at best with CQ healthy. Not everyone but I won't take you so literally. I've even recently seen a few posts that keeping him down was the right thing to do.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Not this version. This team is terrible. It'd be a lot sweeter to beat them when they're actually good. Need the wins regardless.
  3. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:14 PM) Imagine if they infused this talent earlier. I've been screaming about getting Viciedo up here forever. I'll admit I was a little late on the De Aza train until I saw how good his numbers really were at Charlotte.
  4. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 08:12 PM) I thought we were done for both times we went down by 3. I also had a real bad feeling with Mauer on deck as the potential go ahead run in the 9th. I'm glad it turned out (again) that I don't know s***. That was the old Sox the White Sox , theses guys are the Knight Sox rescuing games in distress !
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:49 PM) Quentin played an above average outfield this year, in my opinion. His reads seem much better this year compared to last . I think it was just that 1st year going back to right field and getting adjusted to it again.
  6. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:42 PM) Right and you pay the price of having a bad OF'er playing as you wait on those streaks. He has value, just think it's overstated. He didnt look bad in the field this year and leading the league in extra base hits for much of the season isn't a bad thing either.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:39 PM) Is it even worth debating though? Seems like there's no chance he's brought back. I think we'll miss Quentin more than we think. Imagine where the Sox would be had it not been for run production from Konerko and Q in the 1st half and if I remember right Q was hot pretty soon after the ASB. Hopefully if he leaves we have Tank and Ale to pick up the slack and more.
  8. Tyler didn't do anything unusual to get that interference call just a long back swing. Since when can't a hitter follow through on his swing ? He didn't lean into the catcher or anything like that .
  9. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 07:16 PM) Rios is anti-baseball smarts. I think Hawk said Rios initially but it was actually Alexei.
  10. Will most likely be seeing Vizquel tomorrow .
  11. Morel looks like he's letting his hitting carry over to the field lately. I've supported him all year but if that's the case he's pretty useless out there.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) Yeah, that was a bad call, especially with the catcher running The way the Twins have been playing yea in hindsight its a bad call but give the Twins credit for finally executing after throwing the ball all over the field the whole game.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) FYI, Humber didn't do too well in his rehab start. 5 innings, 4 runs I saw that so what's your point ? It's a rehab start after having time off after being cracked in the head by a line drive. He might not be a little bit rusty ?
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:43 PM) The Sox all but confirmed they were going to limit his innings as they felt he hit the wall. So what was he doing out there on the mound when he was hit in the head? Selling popcorn ?
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:36 PM) Not true, sounds like organization was looking for any reason to limit Humber's innings. Cooper's going to have to make Stewart basically a sinker specialist it seems, which is fine cause it worked well for Garland. Yea any reason being he got hit in the head with a line drive ?
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 06:03 PM) You know what's comical? Kenny traded Hudson last year cause he didn't want to have to count on a young pitcher during a playoff run. So then, he turns around and trades Jackson for a very unknown commodity in Stewart who ends up pitching in some important games down the stretch of this year. Are you really making a fair judgement here ? I'm sure you haven't forgotten that Stewart would be in the minors or in long relief for the Sox if not for the injury to Humber.
  17. You do not pitch inside to Mr. De Aza !!
  18. Stewart's struck out the 3rd out in each of the 1st 3 innings . Let's get some runs now !
  19. I understand what you're saying about sabotaging the season and many times it has sure looked that way. But if that could be proven it'd be like a ban for life from baseball. I can't in good conscience ever imagine that to be the case.
  20. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) Ozzie is sandwiching Rios between the Captain and the Tank so he will see some good pitches. With my Ozzie jersey on tonight, I'm pretty sure Rios is going to go 3 for 4 with a dinger. My pick to Click...RIOS!!!! How did that work out last night ?
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 12:00 PM) And is beginning to alienate the fan base. Beginning ??
