  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) By the way...that commercial with the guy in the laundry room yelling "It's the cycle" when Konerko's up to bat...have other people seen this one...I'm wondering how many people realize the inherent problem with that one. Glad I'm not the only one who caught that. It is pretty funny.
  2. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) I want this kid throwing 7 innings every 5th game starting next year. The last 2 games have at least sold me on that...especially if he works on adding in another pitch in the offseason. I think he's already shown it's not absolutly necessary to add another pitch.
  3. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Sep 6, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) Back during the Royals futility streak of 19 games I sent in an e-mail asking Hawk and DJ which they thought was harder to do win 20 in a row, which the A's did in '02 or lose 20 in a row. DJ said its always harder to win and Hawk said that they were both very tough to do. I TiVo'd it too, it was weird hearing Hawk say my name on the air, especially since it is so hard for some people to pronounce. I remember that one too, It also seems if you end whatever you ask with "Go Sox" they will read it.
  4. This is being discussed in another thread started by me. And the title also misled me.
  5. Oh damn the "good taste police" cleaned it up before I had a chance to see how f'ed up it was.
  6. If Juan keeps this up the Sox won't have to pursue Rafael Furcal in the offseason unless they are thinking of moving Uribe to 3rd base.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) "Paulie you know you were voted down on your suggestion to change the celebration from high 5's to disco."
  8. QUOTE(Reddy @ Sep 5, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) The jersey name says all that needs to be said.
  9. Oh yeah another thing. We're back to our season high of 34 games above .500 .
  10. Sure why not ? The more positive options you have the better. We have a comfortable lead and if BMac can keep doing what he's done lately it's worth a shot.
  11. Great team win . BMac just outta sight ! There is no I in Team-0 Uribe unstoppable lately. Another Paulie pop !
  12. Maybe BMac's bad outtings earlier led to the Sox getting lowball offers in trade talks, therefore no trades involving BMac. Now it's paying off and if he keeps it up could he be in the playoff rotation?
  13. Oh no everybody toeing the company line . It's worse than I thought .
  14. I hear AJP is staying home too . So Widge will be in the lineup.
  15. This sweep should ease the minds of anyone who was worried about the Indians catching us. And if you're honest ,August scared the hell out of you, myself included. Winning makes me happy and right now I'm smiling ear to ear.
  16. I've seen the same threads over the past couple of days. Seems like with the Sox on a roll and getting ever closer to a division title things would be jumpin' around here. But with the exception of the game thread and "thats another White Sox winner" few new topics have been posted recently. I know the admins wanted to make it easier for people to start threads without having to be personally lambasted with the new policy , but it seems to have had the opposite effect. Is it just my imagination runnin' away with me or is Soxtalk on red alert and running scared when we should be in the most giddy and enthusiastic state ever ?
  17. Willie 4 hits in 2 days ! Whoda thunk it ??
  18. Contreras' 3rd start in a row with 0 walks ! Whoda thunk it ??
  19. Please, please ,please, start winning again. Do not limp into the playoffs. Please, please start winning at home. And please for heavens sake put a competitive lineup out there everday. Now is not the time to rest any one. If the Sox blow this division everyone will be talking about the collapse of 05' in the same vein as the Flubs collapse of 69'.
  20. Congrats BMac on your 1st ML win !!! If he comes back with 15 added lbs. I will be very surprised. With that kind of frame it is extremely difficult to add weight. I should know because I am a"tall drink of water" myself. But then again I never had a personal trainer. He can add a few lbs. to his legs and upper body but that isnt a guarantee for more speed on the fastball. If extra muscle messes with a fluid motion it could hinder it. If he can add 6-8 extra lbs that should be good. He will fill out as he ages. (Everyone kept telling me that but it never happened.)
  21. Aww Poor Jabroni. He wasnt such a bad guy. Opinionated? Oh yea . But there's no denying his Dead-ication to the Sox.
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 27, 2005 -> 06:22 AM) Even during a night game he was . . . walking on sunshine, whoa oh And don't it feel good, hey, all right now And don't it feel good Katrina and the Waves.
  23. I think I'll just punch this dude in the ass.
