I don't mind the shitting on TLR and anyone in the front office. The players are doing what they can but are short some weapons and the FO refused to go for the jugular. Maybe that affects some of the players thinking that the front office doesn't really care about winning a World Series when they let Rodon walk and didn't add any LH bats while signing a bunch of scrap heapers and relief pitchers. I mostly stay out game threads because there's way too much DFA him stuff and this player sucks in a SSS of suckiness. The pen was doing great overall until the last couple of days. They were winning a decent amount of low scoring hockey score games against poor opponents but they are going to have to show me they are more than the .500 team they've been since the AS break last year. Getting healthy will help but there will always be injuries which is why I always put the blame squarely where it belongs, on the Front office and ownership. -

Moncada to be back on Monday

I think I fit in with quite a few people on the board who think he is very good but elite is reserved for guys who produce consistently offensively. It's great YoYo is a very good fielder and great @ getting on base to rack up a high WAR. -
When Stanton and Judge are both in the lineup together that is a scary team. Gleyber Torres is becoming Mr. Walk Off. Judge (10 HR) , Rizzo, 9 and Stanton, 7 make our top HR hitters look like little leaguers along with our fielding. Their starting pitching and bull pen have been really good. But you're right ,should be fun for the Yankee fans.

I don't think anyone is sold on Vinnie's back to back starts either but it's somewhat encouraging to think they could've unlocked something in him that was previously undiscovered. But it's not something I'd be looking to do when you are supposedly looking to win championships . I mean, sure, every team takes low cost flyers every year but when Keuchel was already bad and you know he will still be in the rotation until he proves he is still bad, it's a very precarious chance to take. Throw in that Kopech might not be able to pitch in the playoffs and Lynn is like the Grandal of starting pitchers with his knee and age, things are unnecessarily dangerous for upper management to preach multiple championships while throwing junk out there. Snake oil salesmen, used car dealers and carnivals could learn a thing or 2 from Reinsdorf. Anyone who ,at this point ,sticks up for management is pretty much who P.T. Barnum or some banker was talking about being born every minute. https://medium.com/skeptikai/the-real-story-behind-the-quote-theres-a-sucker-born-every-minute-1db9a7220d34

Sounds like you are saying the Sox didn't give a damn about Rodon pitching in the playoffs even with him being their best starter just because they had already decided they weren't going to keep him or that they decided that no matter what they did he couldn't start in the playoffs. If your stated goal is for "multiple Championships" how is the Sox deciding that that weren't going to pay him next year make any sense at all regarding how they were pitching him last year ? The only logical answer seems to be (according to your odd theory) they thought they could still win a World Series in 2021 without their best starting pitcher and that Rodon preferred that. From the beginning of the 2021 season through July 18 Rodon started 16 games and averaged 100.56 pitches per game. In just his 2nd (no hitter) and 3rd starts of the season he threw 224 pitches, his highest total in back to back games the entire season for him. From July 24th through Sept. 29th Rodon started 8 games and averaged 76.25 pitches per start. Now the Sox are playing pretty much the same as when Rodon wasn't at his best in the 2nd half and Kopech is taking his place in what appears to be a much lower chance of running away with the division . I truly hope that you thinking that they will treat Kopech much differently isn't misplaced. My guess is that Kopech will not be strong enough to pitch in the playoffs if the Sox actually make the playoffs. Kopech does have some advantage that he pitched 69.1 innings last year as opposed to the 7.2 IP Rodon had in 2020. I would have felt much better having Rodon in the rotation with Kopech this year instead of Velasquez, Keuchel and maybe Cueto expected to get those "multiple championships".
