QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 21, 2014 -> 11:31 AM) Sometime's I get overly obsessed with fitness and try to be good for a few months, it's really no excuse though and I apologize to my millions of fans. I have a fun 12/31-1/3 planned though so this thread might get blown up with drunk stories from me. I would think being extra fit would increase your drinking ability...

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 21, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) After a really good season, what a terrible finale. Totally. There was nothing about that episode to indicate a season finale.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Dec 20, 2014 -> 07:04 PM) How did they let him get away? Not really sure exactly what happened, but I'm guessing he was tired of being yo-yo'd around by Wilson with him and Sudfeld never knowing who would play. -

Happy with the Hoosiers' win over Butler. Yogi beasted in the second half. And that was probably the best game Troy Williams has had. Still a little too out of control sometimes, though. I liked the retro Illini uniforms. And who thought it was a good idea to blow up the UCLA/Kentucky/Ohio State/North Carolina logos to where you couldn't even see the United Center floor? That was fugly. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 11:08 AM) I was there with you, but really the show moved past it and it was just as good. Season 3 was probably the worst (but still good) only because it introduced a cartoon villian, but the last 2 were really good, and the effects of that decision were felt through the end of the series. I'm doing a rewatch on The Wire. It's been about 7-8 years. The storytelling is so solid and tight in the first 3-4 episodes, moreso than I remember. Totally disagree. Gyp Rosetti was amazing.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 19, 2014 -> 09:27 AM) The early seasons of Boardwalk Empire are tremendous. Still worth watching. I'd go with House of Cards. You'll fly through it. Season 2 bored me, but Season 3 with Bobby Cannavale is one of my favorite seasons of any TV show. It's amazing.

Just absurd. Everything about it. The premise, the cowardice, everything.

Tried a smoke lager last night for the first time, it was fantastic. Tastes like smoky bacon.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 10:09 PM) Nice try Minnesota, one of these years you will learn how to win on the road. Can we start the playoffs next week? This team is on a roll. I had to watch the Wild feed, the announcers were b****ing about the hooking penalty that led to Kane's goal late in the 3rd. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 10:58 PM) I never knew how much I wanted to live close to work until it happened. It's seriously the best thing. Congrats iwritecode! I don't think I'd like living next door, but a 10-15 commute is the sweet spot.

The other demographic that interests me is occupation. I think we have a pretty diverse selection here in that regard.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 10:38 AM) So after the long wait I finally got a firm offer and was able to accept it. I just officially put in my 2-week notice at my current job. Starting on January 5th my commute will drop from 2+ hours to about 10 minutes. I’ll be dropping a little in salary but the massive savings in gas, tolls and free time at home definitely makes up for it. Congrats! I don't know how you've managed a 2+ hour commute.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 16, 2014 -> 09:14 AM) It's better. The second-half is what the show will be moving forward. No more Carrie bulls***. Just action and ass-kicking and stopping terrorists. Which is definitely the best part of the show.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 14, 2014 -> 10:31 PM) The Newsroom finale was great. Season wasn't but the end was really good in my opinion. QUOTE (chw42 @ Dec 15, 2014 -> 01:22 AM) I felt that the ending was a bit rushed. Only 6 episodes this season? I mean, come on... I know Sorkin has other stuff to work on, but this entire season literally felt like it consisted of 2-3 major plot lines. By itself, I liked the finale a lot. But 6 episodes for a final season? Are you kidding me? There's just not time for plot lines to develop. It forced them to go from "Mac and Sloane are fired!" to "Here's the huge promotion, Mac!" with the only reason for it (Pruitt's women problems) being conjured out of thin air. Homeland:

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 01:28 PM) Actually they often are for such a small thing. They broke up a loud party and found a small amount of weed in a dresser. That kind of thing gets pushed aside, or just a municipal citation, all the time in. Especially in college environments like that. Not saying that didn't play a factor, it might have. Just saying it is commonplace for things like that to get thrown out. The judge cited probable cause issues - why does a loud party justify searching dresser drawers? It likely doesn't, thus it was thrown out. I think in most college towns having weed on you is pretty much the same as underage consumption. A ticket for a few hundred dollars and a class or two. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 9, 2014 -> 05:26 PM) Hes better than Dayne. And yards against common opponents doesnt really mean much. A lot of games Gordon didnt even touch the ball in the 4th. Gordon is special. Didn't see Gordon enough to comment on their relative merits. Based solely on numbers I'd go Gordon, but it's close. But if Gordon can play the "I didn't touch the ball in the 4th" card then Coleman can play the "Defenses put 9 in the box against me because we played our 5th string QB half the year" card. You can't go wrong with either one. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 10, 2014 -> 08:37 AM) The B1G is 3-14 vs top 25 opponents. I mean, when some of those games are unranked Indiana playing 4 Louisville and unranked Illinois playing 7 Villanova at home...I wouldn't expect that record to be very good right now. Way too early. It's a really deep conference with one elite team. -

IU game pretty much what I expected. When the shots are going in it's close, the rest of the time Louisville wins out with their huge advantage inside and defensive pressure. But man those offensive boards were awful to watch. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) I like the idea of having it at MSG, but not a fan of hosting it a full week before Selection Sunday. This. I can't imagine that's good for the teams to have that long off. Plus, as a selfish fan, I want to be watching our team during that time of the year, dammit!
