  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 03:09 PM) It's long overdue that Bmac gets his own thread. This is his latest Twitter war. http://www.awfulannouncing.com/2013/januar...-anime-fan.html I follow both him and his wife, Amanda, on twitter. Both great follows, I highly recommend them. Chris Kluwe is another great one.
  2. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 04:19 PM) And yes, SS, I would gladly move to a different state. The wife and I have already talked about moving even if the commute does suck. Come to Minnesota! It's a great state. Plus, no sales taxes on "staples" like food and clothing. Not sure what the income tax is like right now, I'm too poor of a student to worry about that. No seriously, I'm actually a big fan of living here. The only problem is that whoever designed the highway system here, especially the on/off ramps, has a lower IQ than Oney Guillen.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 12:59 PM) Really interested who Trestman is friends with for Dcoordinators. Seems like his time at the raiders was his most influential in terms of relationships. Isn't that when Gruden was the HC there? So like a Fred Pagac or Mike Waufle, maybe?
  4. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 01:02 PM) A good comp for Te'o is Luke Kuechly, which is a really, really solid and reliable MLB who might make a couple Pro Bowls. They are valuable players that can help anchor a defense, but they are not game changers like some many of the defensive players in this years draft are If my team was weak at LB (Chiefs are actually loaded there) I'd look to take him in the latter half of the first round. I would agree with that. I think Te'o should be drafted somewhere in the 14-22 range, though he'll go much higher than that. Barring any fallout from this whole situation, that is.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 12:46 PM) You know what is weird, I live in sleepy hollow in a heavily wooded area, and I very rarely have outages. And when I do, if I switch to the non-hd channels, they usually are unaffected. The only time I get any problems is at the very beginning or very end of a storm, depending on which way it is going. Yeah, it usually happens in a particularly bad storm, and you're right that it's at the beginning mostly. It doesn't even happen that often, at most once or twice a month. Just seems to be at the most inopportune times (ie, at 11:45 when the Bears game starts at 12). For reference, I live in the opposite of a heavily wooded area -- the middle of Minneapolis. I'll have to try that SD thing.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) The Bears need a new MLB and pick 20th... NO. PLEASE NO. I'm not a fan of a media circus following players to Chicago, especially if it's not 90%+ sure the player is worth it. No player out of the draft is that certain. Or maybe it's because I just have never understood the Te'O hype. He's good, he's not (Touchdown) Jesus.
  7. Calm down, people. After all, it's not like it's the White Sox we're talking about here. Instead, let's talk about how good people think Earl Bennett can be. I think in the right system, he's a 70+ reception guy. Then again, I might be dreaming.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 17, 2013 -> 11:12 AM) DirecTV Genie Review I thought this could be applicable given conversations around these here parts recently. I love me some DirecTV. The only problem is that if the weather is legitimately bad (ie, heavy rain or snow), the picture will go out. Usually not for too long, but it happens. I had to go watch the Bears-Vikings game at a bar because my signal was out. EDIT: Despite that issue, it's still 1000x better than Comcast.
  9. I assume by the time I wake up tomorrow there will be another 18 twists and turns. It's to the point where I won't be surprised to learn that Manti Te'o isn't actually Manti Te'o, but Lawrence Taylor's illegitimate crack baby son.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 16, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) Person of Interest is a pretty solid show. If you are going to watch it, Id try and get the early episodes because it actually builds up. One of the most important dynamics is explained early on. Person of Interest is pretty solid. Probably my favorite show on ABC/CBS/NBC/FOX right now, as Criminal Minds has fallen off somewhat. Great premiere for Shameless on Sunday. "19!" Justified was good again last night. Yesterday Oswalt tweeted he wouldn't be on last night's episode, but I know he'll be in future episodes. Anyone else going to watch the Kroll Show series premiere on Comedy Central tonight? It's Nick Kroll, who plays Ruxin in the League. I have no idea what it's about or what its style is, but I like Nick Kroll so I figure I'll give it a shot. 9:30 central time.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 10:11 PM) They dont play there. This is the only match up unless the big 10 tourney or NCAA. Ah I thought we finally had a home-and-home with you guys this year.
  12. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 10:09 PM) Unbelievable. Wisconsin is Indiana's kryptonite. Maybe this means we'll win at the Kohl Center this year?!
  13. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 10:08 PM) Rex, No clinic tonight? You've been waiting since halftime for that, haven't you?
  14. Yeahhhh this isn't gonna happen. As much as I cannot stand Mike Brusewitz*, I'll give him credit for hitting some clutch free throws. *I'm mad at myself for being mad at him, because he's that guy you love when he's on your team, but everyone else hates him...and those guys always love to be hated. Like Will Sheehey on Indiana. Or, the greatest of them, Mr. A.J. Pierzynski.
  15. I hate seeing all my IU friends on Facebook complaining about how all the calls are going in Wisconsin's favor. This game is being called pretty evenly and well, though there have been a few misses on each side. Especially with the travels , they're letting both teams walk like an NBA game.
  16. Live I thought that was Indiana ball, but I'd like to see a slower replay.
  17. Dumb foul by Oladipo, especially because it was his 3rd. He didn't have position yet.
  18. Good thing Oladipo is coming in, need to pick the energy up, especially on the defensive end.
  19. The biggest problem so far is playing with way too much energy and out of control. If Crean can calm that down at half, IU should be fine. Or at least I hope so.
  20. Dammit. Hoosiers had some momentum until that Sheehey foul.
  21. They're not lying about how steep the Assembly Hall steps are. I'm still amazed I made it through four years without falling down the stairs.
  22. QUOTE (Rex Hudler @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 08:27 PM) Remy Abell has played out of control a lot lately, after playing well for most of the year. IU needs to figure out how to play D against Wisky. Here is a quick secret about IU. When Jeremy Hollowell enters the game, he is guaranteed to shoot almost immediately. EVERY time! Hollowell hasn't looked that great this year, but he was actually patient on that one set earlier, and it paid off for him. Hopefully he remembers that. Good game so far.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 15, 2013 -> 06:07 PM) I agree. Clinton if we are gonna go partying after dinner. Bush if we are just gonna hang out and get drunk as f***. I imagine Bush being a lot like the version of him in the second Harold and Kumar. Yup, I get all my presidential characterizations from TV and movies.
  24. Clinton, and I hope he acts like the Family Guy version of Bill Clinton.
