  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) For supposedly being one of the biggest assholes in MLB, AJ has sure made himself a nice spot in Chicago. Don't really hear the bad teammate stuff here. I haven't either and that shows he is a team player
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:40 PM) Most likely, although the Sox have to pay him at least $4 million more no matter what. They may be able to work something out assuming he makes it through the season unscathed. I think he stays with the Sox. Jake is a loyal kind of guy and knows he hasn't earned all the money we paid him. He will sign a deal both sides can live with
  3. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 08:38 PM) I looked at it, too. Looked clearly foul to me. Quite possibly an optical illusion
  4. I watched the game today on MLB network and our offensive effort darn near put me to sleep. We were completely dominated by this Koroda character. Jake gave up 3 solo homers. Oh well, there is always tomorrow. I will be weatching that on WGN. I see it is also on TBS
  5. KW, if we don't keep AJ for two more years this team should be ashamed of themselves. I will even kick in some money. Spare change from the couch is all I have but I will give it to the front office for AJ's contract
  6. OK we have had two great wins started by rookies. We have showed offense. Time to continue the winning ways and with Peavy on the mound we have a good chance. Game on MLB network so I will see you all behind the big screen plus as I said the last two games "The Yankmees can be beaten. Enuf said
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:49 AM) Septimo looked solid. Control wasn't great, but he didn't miss in bad spots at least. As someone who has followed the minors intently for years, it's really fun to see all these homegrown players come up and do well. I'm really enjoying it for once. I understand guys like Septimo and Quintana were free agent pickups, but who cares the Sox got the most out of them. I like it too
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 03:51 AM) Somehow I'm not regarded as a Sox fan anymore just because I like Ozzie. Weird. We win big and it's like I got shown up some how. I don't know how to change this perception since nobody on here will have my back since I guess I'm universally hated. That said ... great win. I figured seeing the run totals that one of my favorite Sox, DeAza had a big game. Surprised to check the box score and see one for six, but I'll take it. Wow on Alexei, AJ, Paulie, Rios, et. all. Sox look like a good team this year; still a bit dysfunctional (OK I'll change the word to inconsistent like somebody said) but a good team. Hate is a strong word. I like Ozzie Guillen too. I like Robin Ventura too. Does that make me or you or anyone else bad?
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 01:28 AM) Why? He's still under 2.00. You may have just joined the AAA club
  10. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 01:22 AM) Konerko seems to be getting it back, 2XBH in 2 games this series, wouldn't that be wonderful. He said he was feeling much better
  11. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 04:51 PM) Quetzlcoatl's ERA won't stay sub-2 all season. But I keep hoping it won't correct itself THIS game. I think you may have jinxed Quint so I believe you are in line for a demotion
  12. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 11:44 PM) Am I the only one on this board that doesn't hate the Yanks? Do you really want or need and answer? But, I hate the Twins more
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) Great, does baby need his bottle? There has been no complaining from Beckham.
  14. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 05:21 PM) MLBN schedule for July is out. Sox are the primary game twice: Thursday 7/19 at Boston and Saturday 7/28 at Texas. The team the Sox beat last night are only on MLBN seven times in July, and they even go one stretch of 13 whole days without appearing on MLBN. Will the network be able to avoid bankrupcy with the almost-certain ratings crash they will suffer during that 13-day span? That is a good question
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 07:15 PM) Bruney is experienced and could certainly hold down the long man spot. However, I'm fine with this for now to get a look at a talented young arm. I guess we have to be fine with it. But, I never saw that coming with Bruney. He has certainly rebounded from some past shakiness and looked decent the one outing I remember him pitching in. Agree that it is nice to see a rookie with talent getting a look
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) The thread starter hasn't been wrong yet. Live and learn
  17. This is unconfirmed at this point. I see no mention of it other than those twitter messages listed here. Crain could be the issue though. Soreness, but got a doc to clear him last night to play. Sox might want to be careful though with him
  18. As I posted yesterday in the game thread... The Yankmees can be beaten. Enuf said
  19. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 29, 2012 -> 02:39 PM) Axelrod's not going to be in the rotation longer than it'll take Phil or John to get healthy. As long as he keeps going out there and simply gives us a chance to win, that's all I'm asking for. Exactly. He is a spot starter at this point. He did a pretty good job yesterday, but Danks and Humber are the rotation guys
  20. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jun 28, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) That sounds pretty good. Do you put a little horseradish with it? You can, but always cook your bufffalo medium well. It is very lean and tasty
  21. WGN tonight. See you all behind the big screen. Plus screw pizza. You need some MT buffalo T-bone steaks
